  1. That video truly brightened my week when I saw it on YouTube. I recently shared it with my few extended family members. It was sorta charming that Chris forgot `Everyday Life` .. can't imagine how many songs Coldplay has created now; I don't blame him honestly.
  2. Hello. Not sure if this thread has ever been created before so I'm making this. If one has been posted before, please moderators feel free to merge this into that topic. Thank you. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Quick overview about this thread topic. This is your opinions / thoughts on how'd you'd like to experience an musical artist or band collaboration with Coldplay in some aspect. This isn't official per-say (unless it actually occurs) these are fun ideas to toss about. You can go into great detail on your artist/band or be brief; you can describe what cover songs Coldplay might do with your selection ~ just have fun. Thanks for reading. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Okay, so here's mine. For as long as I have listened to Coldplay I've also had admiration for the British band, Keane. I'd love for Keane to do a collaboration with Coldplay. There was a time where I thought the band disbanded however I have recently learned that they are back in action. What I find really neat about both Keane and Coldplay is ~ the band members have crossed paths before! https://coldplaying.com/on-this-day-keanes-tim-rice-oxley-was-almost-coldplays-keyboard-player/ I think the musical sounds these band duo would be truly magical! If Coldplay were to attempt any cover any songs from Keane, I believe they could pull off... - `Somewhere Only We Know` or - `The Frog Prince` For Keane's side, I hadn't really thought it through... maybe whatever Coldplay song they could have enjoyment with. Those are my thoughts, cannot wait to read your own responses ♥
  3. I agree with the third Instagram poster, I'm curious if he enjoys the music from Pink Floyd.
  4. Much appreciated. Yeah it was tough to come up with but I have something at least. I guess I'm odd that way but I just look at it as a guide for those still around. I know I would like to have a plan and maybe they'd feel somewhat comforted that I had some direction for them. Clearly it's not set in stone but I felt it was time for me to work on it.
  5. I was a Coldplay fan pretty early however I will state that I didn't fully recognized them until "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" album launched. After I purchased "Rush" I knew I had to fetch the previous CD they worked on, I just admired them quite a ton... then it hit me hard that I had known of and enjoyed their other songs before but I just didn't know-know the band. I feel the need the thank MTV for that... honestly I wouldn't have heard their earlier tracks at all, well.... "Yellow" was the exception, hehehe. And if it wasn't watching the music videos of their songs, their songs were often played a tiny bit during adverts for MTV in the background. I clear recall hearing the piano cord for 'Trouble' during an advert... it was so pretty but I didn't no jack about it at that time. Here are the songs MTV played that I recall from my youth before I ran to buy the "Rush" CD for my freakish love obsession with 'Clocks' thanks to multitudes of radio-play etc. `Yellow`, `Don't Panic` and `Trouble`. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- TLDR What songs did you know of Coldplay? Thanks to MTV... - Yellow - Don't Panic - Trouble And what specifically got you hooked on the band? - Clocks (radio air play during the year of 2003 or so)
  6. In my current state of life my husband and I are going to be proud parents soon. This event has caused me to evaluate my life and even my passing, so Ive been researching and putting to paper a rough idea of my dying will. With that said I know for a fact I want the loved ones still around to listen to a Coldplay song when they honor my eventual passing etc... So my current song that I've been thinking about lately is, ` "O" / "Fly On" ` in particular the short 3:50 time stamp version. I think that song is a great sort of send off. I'm sorry if I brought this thread down mood-wise. Ermm... Well I have also have had the opening piano notes of "Hypnotised" stuck in my head ~ so here you go, something more positive. Yay! <3
  7. One of my favorite performances is Will singing "Death Will Never Conquer". If you search YouTube, "Coldplay (Will gets mad at Chris) Death Will Never Conquer Roadie 42 Blog 55" it's pretty sweet. If your interested in Will's full version I suggest you listen to: Album: Coldplay: Left, Right, Left, Right, Left Song: Death Will Never Conquer
  8. I don't Instagram however I love this concept of trying to listen to an album together.
  9. I cannot decide what's truly my favorite. I do think Voodoo is slightly more of my musical tastes then E-Lo. Both are enjoyable in various ways.
  10. "Daylight" ?? *edit* I was looking at the old one. "Talk" ??
  11. Shoot, I know I have examples however some just aren't revealing themselves to me. I suppose if you replay "All I Can Think About Is You", sometimes I'll hear, "All I can" as "Soda can". lol. :joy:
  12. Update: I'm all finished with the jacket colorful patches. Doesn't look exactly like their look but I wanted to add some feminine flair.
  13. My picks: Five Least Liked Coldplay Songs: In order of Record Released: 1. "Parachutes" (Parachutes, Record) Why is this song so darn short? It truly doesn't add anything sufficient to this album. The guitar-neck shifting sound is somewhat jarring to my ears like a chalkboard screech. I don't loathe it however it's deemed as skippable for me. {Skipping A Rush of Blood to the Head, Record. None of these songs ever bothered me that much.} 2. "Twisted Logic" (X&Y, Record) This song reminds me heavily of The Beatles song, 'I want You (She's So Heavy)'. Maybe it's the trance-sounding guitar melody. It isn't horrible however I can't shake off the similarities. This song might be tainted for me because of the influence of others; others interpretation. I recall after I came home with the new X&Y album in hand I tore off the plastic and booted up the surround sound system in the living area. My Father calmly sat in his Lazy Boy chair. We both enjoyed the record, had a nice chat discussing each song etc. When "Twisted Logic" came on however my Father heard the lyrics, laughing.. "This song is dumb-- he keep singing about going backwards and forwards-- are they high?" I couldn't help but giggle too. It was embarrassing, the X&Y record genuinely has some of the greatest Coldplay songs for me however this song tends to be mixed for me. Some days I'm totally into it. like the opening with the computers finding life on Earth however other times I think back to how silly this entire song is. Sure musically it appears they took some risks however I'm unsure if I can ever have this track under my favorites. 3. "Yes" (Viva La Vida, Record) I don't find the sour tune of the opening of the violins to be very enjoyable. I dunno, think this particular track somewhat brings down this amazing album. Maybe it's the mostly flat-ness tone of Chris' singing, I am very sure it's intentional however this musical composition isn't for me. The only saving grace of this song is the Arabian-like sound of the strings.. I've tried for years to like this song but I just can't. I'm very glad when I heard them live back in 2008 they did not have it in their song set list. {Skipping Prospekt's March, Record and Mylo Xyloto, Record. None of these songs ever bothered me that much.} 4. "Magic" (Ghost Stories, Record) Again much alike to the 'Yes' song, I just not incredibly into the 'odd' sour noting. Right away when you begin this song it just has this bleakness to it. Again I am sure it is intentional however I just can't get around to lovin' this track. Maybe it's the small fact that I don't tend to listen to the R&B genre but this track doesn't evoke Coldplay much for me. Yes I can find bits that I enjoy such as, the echoing piano bits from this song or the great guitar pick up at 2:55 however I have always found it incredibly fascinating why the band was pushing this song as an mega hit. I find, "True Love" way more of an successful Coldplay hit however this is only my opinion. I'm sure plenty of folks who adore this song I feel bad that we don't share that connection. The "Ohhs" at the end are catchy though I'll give it that. 5. "X Marks The Spot" [Hidden Track at 3:23 during the track,"Army of One"] (A Head Full Of Dreams, Record) Oh Man.. this song. Let me start off by typing that I just hate --no-- I loathe rap music. When I first hit this song I was half-tempted to just skip it but... because it's Coldplay and I want to support all their work or at least give them the gratitude to listen once before I have an opinion. I played the entire song. The lyrics aren't the best here, and I give him credit for trying however I do not believe Chris is a master at rapping. Musically, not much is offered up in this.. I just feels empty, soul-less. Just not my type of music.
  14. I'm slightly concerned now, just read a few pages back and somebody 'moons' the video camera hmm? And the "c" curse word is used. Well I'm taking my Mother to the film screening, I hope she doesn't take too much offensive. I might give her a warning beforehand so she is more err prepared? lol
  15. I share the same views, how neat! AROBTTH is also my favorite album and I totally agree that the VLV era was the band's best. Had so much charm to it. It's hard to explain... Maybe I felt wooed by it because it was the first live Coldplay concert I attended with my Sister was during their Viva tour 2008 just shy of Thanksgiving in my home of Arizona. (I now tend to think of the entire month of November as a make-shift Coldplay month.) It might be the puppets used in their videos, their concert attire, the use of church bell... everything the art aesthetic, it just seems so very fun and playful.
  16. Here are some official film trailers that used Coldplay's music that I've admired. Hope it fits this thread, I'm slightly unsure however you said commercials work so enjoy. :) 1st: Live Action "Space Brothers" film trailer, based off the Anime 2nd: "Exodus: Gods and Kings" film trailer 3rd: "Peter Pan" (2003) film trailer
  17. Beautiful photo stillsMatteosabato  I'm excited for the movie premiere. I have a mini 'cosplaying' project for the theatrical event. My Mother-in-Law last year bought me a jacket that I believe resembles the band's Viva La Vida tour attire. It's a dark navy-blue, buttoned down jacket. The only aspects I'm missing was the colorful bands of fabric that wrap around one of the sleeves. I plan to velcro some fabric scraps I found around the home and reusing them as the colorful cloth sleeve bands. If anyone is interested, I decided to advertise the jacket. The jacket intended to fit females just FYI. The fashion brand is Cabi, and the jacket is known as "In The Band" jacket. Its from the Fall 2017 line. Hope I helped somebody if they want to dress up too.
