Radiohead
Good grief. That really shows how bankrupt on integrity the NME is. One guy, supposedly from New York, posts this stuff on atease with nothing but a couple of pictures of him and Colin as proof that anything ever happened at whatever time, and the NME go and repeat it for publication as gospel truth. Bad, lazy journalism if you ask me. Sure, I believe the guy pretty much, the stuff he posted was pretty convincing, but I'm not writing professionally. You need more proof than one person on a board full of jokers who like to make up stories out of boredom.

Mercury Prize 2007
  Maps! Maps! Maps! Maps! Maps!  I love that album so much. :nice: Otherwise, yeah. I think this is official proof that this has been one of the worst years in music ever. :disappointed: I'm thinking Amy Winehouse will win. Or maybe Klaxons.

"Brat" nav can track kids anywhere!
Heh... I wonder how sensitive it is. Because the first thing a kid who needs that kind of surveillance is going to do is ditch it at a "good" friends house, same as they did with the friends phone number before.

Rate the latest movie you've seen
Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix 8.5/10 Fantastically done... wizard battles don't get better than that.

What are you thinking right now?
Day two of running around the waterfront... I'm exhausted. And my legs hurt.

It means "stupid immature gamers think they're better than eveyone because the grownups can't read leet". :dozey: :laugh3: Don't bother telling them they look like morons. It doesn't work. I've tried.

need a beautiful song!
Loreena McKennitt - La Serenissima It's like a drink of cold, fresh water for the ears... fan video is a bit cheesy, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m54SmVsQqgc Also check out Dante's Prayer by her. "Oh give these clay feet wings to fly, To touch the face of the stars"

Radiohead
:laugh3: That's hilarious. I wonder how many of us did unconciously start refering to it as lp4 because of lurking over on atease... handy abbreviation, wherever it came from. Silly thing to get upset over. All those insults from a board who have broken themselves up into "Team Jonny" and "Team Thom" and so on... not to mention have a disturbing sounding "cheesecake" thread I'm never going near. :uhoh:  Basically, that made my day. No, Harry Potter made my day, but that was second. :nice:

What are the strangest dreams you have ever had??
When I was really little, I had this weird recurring dream that had something alot like the Tardis in it- outhouse on the outside, mansion on the inside. I would run into it to hide from an evil stormcloud that was trying to kill me. But I didn't actually know what a tardis was for another 20 years, so yeah, that was pretty odd.

What do you do...

Article: Are free CDs killing music?
Which is exactly why I don't understand why everyone is so upset. It's his album- he can give it away if he wants, which if I remember right is what he tried to do with his last album too- give it out at concerts and other things. There's no point in them dragging out the "destrying the music industry" moan at him when he already hates the music industry's guts. That said, we don't have those sorts of widespread covermounts like that here that I'm aware of, so it's not so much of an issue. Pity. The whole industry here seems to go out of it's way to ignore new bands.

Radiohead
They've already said before that they only want a distribution deal. But they may use one of the bigger indie labels too, like XL or Merge...

What Was The Last TV Show You Watched?
Dr. Who, unless you count sports, then Tour de France.

A long time ago. It's l337. (leet) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet And a variation of leet has been used on vanity plates since before the internet, so... :laugh3:

Summer Holidays?
Ooh. Architecture in Helsinki. :D They would probably be fun to see.

The White Stripes
^Well, I got a lot of exercise out of it, but not much else in the end... *shrug* Back from the concert. Really wising I had remembered a camera right now. *grr* Maybe not *THE* most amazing show I've ever seen, but it was up there as one of the best. Jack is without a doubt the most amazing mesmerising guitarist I've ever seen, though. Wow. Oh yeah, and he wore a kilt again. Not to mention it almost seemed like he had a tan- he wasn't anywhere near as pale as his pictures. And he brought a bagpiper and a giant Nova Scotia flag with him. He definitely seems to be embracing his Nova Scotian roots. (He's second and third cousins with an amazing number of Nova Scotia's most famous musicians, mostly fiddlers.) And just when you thought it couldn't get more weirdly iconic, a couple of the old sailing ships that are here for the tall ships festival were moored right outside the windows. (The concert was at pier 23 on the waterfront) I freaked out when they went off stage before the encore- they had played for a long time, but had only played about 3 or 4 of their top 15 or 20 songs. But then everyone got so worked up that the encore must have lasted for another 10(!) songs or so. They played for about 2 hours altogether. Let's hope Halifax lived up to it's reputation as one of the loudest cities enough to bring them back. I think we did.

Radiohead
Well supposedly they're in New York doing the mastering now, so I get the impression that the release date partially depends on whether or not they like the finished songs once they're mastered... I'm still guessing October or November, though.

Summer Holidays?
Um... one of the worst music years ever (well except maybe the mid 80s) continues. A few bright spots, but not many. Oh yeah, and there was Live Earth. But it surpassed my hypocracy tolerance level, so I haven't paid much attention.

Is anybody out there?
hello! :nice: heh... I probably shouldn't stay on too long... there's nothing quite like being one of four thousand or so packed in a warehouse with no air conditioning to take the life right out of you.*phew* Need sleep. Soooo amazing though. (White Stripes concert, that is)

Is anybody out there?
Heya, I'm here... just got back. And yeah, it's been a little bit slow lately... everyones off on break

The White Stripes
Wow!!! Just got back from a White Stripes- induced mob here in Halifax. They were playing another secret show, this time at a pool place, but they only let a few people in. The other couple of hundred just stood there clogging up the sidewalk. Fun time, anyway. Don't think the city has ever seen anything quite like it. Now off to the concert

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the video for "Don't Panic" was added to the site recently.

Guillemots
Yeah, Trains to Brazil and Annie, Let's Not Wait are the other big two you should definitely check out. If The World Ends and Through the Windowpane are my two favorites besides that. Sao Paolo is very long but awesome. Not such a big fan of We're Here myself, but that's probably just me. Really the whole album is worth a listen- it's fantastic and has a ton of variety to it. There's a couple of songs on the ep that I really like too, but I can't remember which ones they are. I'm not as big a fan of it as the album, though I own and like both. You would probably be best off getting started with the album.

Lost Boone and Shannon 'Brothers and Sisters' By Coldplay
That was actually the first version of Brothers and Sisters I ever heard. It's sooo beautiful I love it so much. :nice: Yeah, it's one of the Trouble b-sides, and it's in the vinyl box set. And that's Max and Isobel from Roswell, not Boone and Shannon from Lost.
