You've been gone? Wow, I really have been out of the loop myself. :embarrassed: Glad you're here, though. :nice:
  2. Yeah, I've been too busy to follow it half as closely as I usually do this year (or post around here half as much)- I usually end up watching races a week or more after they happened. Not the greatest for conversations. *sigh* :embarrassed: Jenson Button's second would be nice too- at least it should shut up the whiners who keep going on about him not being worthy. Though I'm really happy for Webber finally ending his bad luck. Heh... I guess that's why I like multi-team sports- I can root for 10 different sides guilt free. :nice:  The poor kid seems completely overwhelmed. It's not easy being the one with the big expectations on your shoulders, especially when it's your teammate who's bettering you. But yeah, I've been really disappointed with how he's been handling it all. In the street, sure, of course. But on a private closed course with entirely consenting participants, sure. Best to mandate official goggles for safety, then the government shouldn't have a problem. Also, the paint should be relatively washable and non-toxic so that they can play again when the first round is done. ...Wait a minute, that sport already exists. It's called PAINTBALL. (And actually your spraypaint would hurt a lot less than the welts paintballs can leave behind... and yet I'd rather go with the paintballs.) *points at Briggins*
  3. Arcade Fire - Funeral (on vinyl! *squee*) My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
  4. So not a surprising choice, but a good one.
  5. Yeah the universe ends a lot on who... but it was different too. It's the why that made it interesting this time.
  6. Hmm... I've been putting off updating because I'm lazy and don't want to wait for it. Any specific reason I should update/avoid it?
  7. Well, #1, American football is well,... American, and this board isn't. #2 Music people often got into music while hiding from the jocks who made their live miserable, so there might be a bit of resentment towards sports people echoed into the whole subculture. I love Formula One. :nice:
  8. If you get those Lindor chocolate balls, you can get all three types mixed together in one bag. I love white. And I really love dark. And milk chocolate is amazing. I don't like choosing. ....mmm, chocolate. :nice:
  9. Klaxons - Surfing the Void Good stuff.
  10. Wow. Surfing the Void is all kinds of AWESOME. Venusia is my favourite so far.
  11. ^:D Oh, for any Chris Eccleston fans out there, I think this is the most he has ever talked about himself in public ever, and it's still up for another 18 hours: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00tj8xq Also, he has awesome taste in music.
  12. *bump* 3 characters left and no time. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm pretty sure it isn't the train this time. On second thought, that's some high-quality software you have there... it may turn out to be better if you do it if you're still interested...
  13. Fairly rich here too. So does it have more to do with where the money comes from than how much you have? Old money is upperclass, while new money is middle class because you worked for it? Or is it more complicated than that?
  14. Good stuff. It looks like it addresses most of the concerns I had. Thanks for all your hard work. Here's to the warm fuzzies from the past, may they be warm fuzzies of the the future too.
  15. Holy crap! That place is huge!! :shocked2: Even by North American mcmansion standards it's big. Hard to blame them for wanting to downsize. Must have been nice to grow up in, though.
  16. Ooh, I'm still on this list. I don't need to be anymore on account of Angie being awesome and amazing and generally just plain ruling.
  17. I'm the same way. :laugh3: I really hate it when people start companion bashing because I love them all so much.
  18. I downloaded the soundtrack and score. They're both amazing. Nigel Godrich rules. (And if anyone noticed the track "Roxy", he makes better clubby electronica tracks on his own than with Thom :stunned:) Supposedly a lot of the songs in the movie have 8-bit versions. They so need to put them on the DVD or something.
  19. Most of the major plot and character points from the books have pretty much been reduced to sight gags. Which isn't quite as bad as it sounds- it's mainly a time thing. But the result is that most noobs seem to get it pretty well. The jokes come so fast that anything they don't get is just another joke that went by too fast.
  20. That was epic. But seriously though, it was probably one of the weirdest movies I've seen, in a very good way.
  21. ^Oh wow. I wonder if there are any screengrabs around...?
  22. I think it varies from Doctor to Doctor. In real life DT has insisted that he's never had a pet of any sort and doesn't see the point of one. But then because he was so unfamiliar with cats he made a point to get to know one when he had to act with one, which is where all those pics come from.
  23. Here's a twist: How many of you have ever tried to find someone else who was like you? You know, similar personality, similar tastes, similar sense of humour, and a similar world view. Did it ever work? Did you ever get close? Now, of you who came close, how long was it until that other person said or did or liked something that was a complete dealbreaker- something that make you think wait a minute, they're not anything like me at all no matter what it seems like. Maybe they're an extreme socialist/conservative and you're not and you can't possibly fathom how they would think what they do about something. Or maybe they're obsessed with Twilight or heavy metal or something random you can't stand. Or maybe you find out that they have a temper and you don't. Even if that never happens, what are the chances that doppleganger looked anything like you? I've come close a few times, but within a couple of months if not days there would always be something that made me entirely re-evaluate what I thought of the person and realize that the similarities were just on the surface. *sigh* I am alone in the universe, it seems. I certainly haven't been able to find anyone who's mind works quite like mine.
  24. Urm... I hope this doesn't come across as snarky, since I do agree with a lot of what you said, but... I think you kind of missed the point. *scratches nose*
