  1. Haven't heard them yet, but that's an awesome thread title!
  2. Space Cadet replied to leeds113's topic in Coldplay
    Finally! :)
  3. Now that's scary! But didn't this thread mercifully die a horrible death a long time ago? :dozey:
  4. I thought random conversations was what the lounge was for. ;)
  5. I saw that movie... :wreck: it was rough, but really good. The same sort of thing happened up here to first nations peoples with the residential schools. Not a very proud chapter in our nation's history. :(
  6. None. I think I would rather run away before I earnestly hit a five year old. I can't even squish spiders!
  7. Hey, Congratz! I've been lurking here for over a year now, and I still have a long way to go myself...
  8. *sings* Nobody likes me everybody hates me I'm going to eat some worms. Big fat jucy ones Skinny ones... ...I forgot the rest... :sick2:
  9. KT Tunstall - Miniature Disasters
  10. Another really good book is Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place". It's her recollections of being sent to Aushwitz (sp?) prison camp for hiding Jews. I really liked it because although she sees some of the worst that humanity is capable of, she still has a very life affirming view of the world. Yeah, I can imagine that propaganda film was pretty horrible. That's the worst of the sort of thing that happened when people started applying darwinism to humans, egged on by a madman. Probably some of the darkest days in human history.

Glad you like it, I guess. I've been to Toronto a couple of times, but I think I would go crazy if I lived there.

Yeah... the east coast- where I do get to see the ocean on occasion, but it's always cold...
  13. Zombies... :P I don't care how cool the car is... I'm not watching that unless Simon Pegg shows up or something.

:shocked2: wow. I know alot of people who would give almost anything to have a view like that!
  15. What the... :laugh3: Thanks for the translation.
  16. It's more than just okay... I really like it. Someone posted a Leaves song called "The Spell" in the cool songs you should hear thread in the multimedia section once. Check it out somtime, if it's still up- it's good. :)
  17. I FOUND IT!!! :D It's by an Icelandic band called "Leaves". The song is "Silver Night". I had a hunch it was them, and I was right- thank goodness... this was driving me crazy!
  18. I don't think so... the voice gave it away first for me too... the guy singing has about the same range as Chris, but he doesn't have that warm fuzzy sad puppydog sound that Chris does. Of course maybe I know it a bit too well too :freak:
  19. So true. As much as there will always be bands that I can't stand, I will never understand the snobs who think putting down other people's tastes is evidence of their own. All it actually shows is a lack of empathy.
  20. Unfortunatly, there's more than one of them. It seems kind of funny to me now, but it took me a long, long time to give Radiohead a chance, mainly because their fans seriously scared me. Many of them can be a bit... intense. Of course I finally did give them a good listen and it was a bit of a where have you been all my life moment. :D But yeah, I think it's easy to forget that a die-hard fan can give as much of an impression of the band as the music. Fair or not, it happens.
  21. It's definatly not Coldplay, although there certainly are similarities with the voices. That doesn't sound like Jonny on guitar at all. I like it, though. I thought it might be Blue Merle too when I saw the topic, but I don't think it really sounds like them either. I tried googling every bit of the lyrics I could make out, but didn't get anything. Maybe it's a smaller more local band?
  22. Honestly, I'm surprised there aren't more sociologists studying online communities. There are so many bigger principals at work in them.
  23. One of these days, I'm really going to have to look into getting my hands on a digital tuner like my brother keeps bugging me too. Until then, I would record it, but I don't have the means. Hope someone does.
  24. I was going to argue with that point, because I do dissagree, but come to think of it, I am a nerdy college student. :embarassed:
  25. I didn't know what to do with the bling when we had it... not to mention it gave spammers an excuse...
