I would love to hear the atonal guitar that Miller was talking about in the tour journal. Also, the E-bow and slide need to make a comeback. Jonny is fucking brilliant with those things and they need to be put on the forefront again. And the dark and heavy thing could be bass distortion, backwards effects, minor chords and weird time signatures. That would be brilliant. Also, I think that they need to fool around with the harmonizing (Make it a bit more dynamic though) and add some sonorous piano. They also should experiement with things like pedal basses and maybe two bass parts or flattened cymbals and huge toms and auxillary percussion. Maybe add some heavy cello and maybe even try out a few brass instruments. Basically, they need to just go effing crazy and push everything to the limit.

I get my information from the official website in which Debs Wild, the webmaster, told Coldplay fans about a month ago that there would be no DVD. And PLUS, does no one else notice that these links that petra provided us with are not the ACC shows? One is from Toronto that WAS taped, but that show was back in June of 2005 as part as the promotional buzz tour for X&Y. It was at the Koolhous and was broadcasted on the Canadian music channel MuchMusic. Now they're releasing a DVD of it, but it is not the official DVD of the ACC shows from the band. Do we get it now? It's ridiculous that I've had to explain this three times.

Don't believe anything that comes out of an artist's mouth when it comes to their work.

Oh please... would people stop moaning about this stuff? In the first place, there were four singles for X&Y and an extra special release in Australia, probably because Australia only sees Coldplay there nce every three years. The Hardest Part was radio only, but maybe that was because they didn't have any B-sides to release. And take a minuet, and compapre the size of the US and the UK... there. Now you know why there are more dates. (And also, they went to cities that they'd never been to before, like Oklahoma City and Omaha) And besides, you Brits have the convience of being able to follow them through the country, because it's so small. I couldn't possibly follow Coldplay through mine, so I see them once when they come to my city and then that's it. The DVD does suck, but we can't do anything about it, and, to me, it isn't a big deal. And they'll take however long they want on the new album. The amount of time shouldn't be a complaint from their fans.

The question about what song Jonny uses an E-bow and a glass slide actually had two choices: Spies AND See You Soon. I put the answer down as See You Soon, but I mistakenly thought that Jonny uses his metal slide in Spies, but I went back and looked and he uses the glass. So those of you who answered 'Spies' on that one can add 10 points to your score! :laugh3:

Although I agree that we can't really instantly beleive what Chris says, I do think they need a break, and Chris did say 'if it takes five years', not that it will take five years. It could be very good for them in my opinion. And they do deserve a nice long break. but five years? Who knows? I think that was what Chris was trying to say. But the comment about the managers is inaccurate. Yes, EMI representatives would get antsy and probably a little ticked off, but they can't just force the band into the studio, and even if they did, that doesn't mean anything would come out of it. If they wanted to take a 30 years hiatus, the record company has to comply with it.

I like how they don't pose together. Everyone knows they're married, so why bother? I like how low key they are (to an almost ridiculous level). Even now, if I saw a picture of Chris and Gwyn posing together, I would probably be very weirded out.
