  1. OMG They look... hot? And funky. I love the guitar. And the fact that Will's playing it. Oh God... it's so great to see them together again. AND that they've decided to shed that boy band all-black look. D:
  2. Fuck.... I love it. I want the entire album, NOW. And all I'm thinking of is the depth of sound, but the uncrowded feel of it. AND CHRIS' SONGWRITING IS FUCKING BACK. I'm also thinking about how explosive of a song this'll be live. DAMN.
  3. PARACHUTES WAS TEN TRACKS. GET OVER IT.
  4. So... you're saying that Chris' lyrics are overly sentimental? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure a huge reason why Coldplay is so successful is because of their simple, direct lyrics that strike a chord. They're undecorated with oblique metaphor, but aren't trite or stupid. The exact and direct is often the most powerful. And it also seems as though you're saying that they have to get over that in order to make a 'classic' record. Parachutes is already in many lists and in many minds as being one of the must-have albums along with the likes of OK Computer and Revolver. I mean... all of the The Beatles' albums had many songs with lyrics that were simple. "All you need is love"? I don't know if you can get more sentimental than that. You don't need 'dark' songs or deep, layered lyrics in order to make a good record. It's not cut and dry like that. Don't get me wrong... I'd love to see Coldplay move in a new direction (Which, it seems that they've done), but don't go making assumptions and putting limits on what makes 'classic' music and what doesn't. ETA Also, don't judge an album before you've heard it. Especially, don't judge it by song titles for Christ's sake.
  5. Looks cool! I'd love to see it. :)
  6. Just looking out for fellow X File fans, Tracie. :)
  7. This thread should be fire-bombed. And Dejan, can you cool it with the pithy, arrogant one-liners and actually articulate a viable opinion instead of acting like you're talking to a bunch of preteen, Boy Zone fans? You're either trying to sound witty and go over people's heads, or knowledgeable about good music, but you're just coming off as an ill-informed asshole.
  8. 5 Ó Fridur - Sigur Rós
  9. 4 Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles
  10. People who bash Radiohead don't know anything.
  11. Why did anyone care about Radiohead, who hadn't done anything of note since 2002? People still care about Coldplay because they deserve to be cared about. Any band that can write records like 'Parachutes' and 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' deserve attention for the duration of their career.
  12. I love that stripey tie. :)
  13. Politik, Yellow, GPASUYF, In My Place, Clocks, and The Scientist.
  14. No. Parachutes only had ten. Who the fuck cares?
  15. They just needed another band to make it sound like a lot of bands are doing that. There was a rumor that Coldplay was going to do it though.
  16. Even though Chris said that the inspiration behind Yellow was the Yellow Pages, I can totally see him making some cock and bull story about Jonny falling into a fondue pot. Because he loves to make up bullshit stories about his bandmates... Jonny especially. And it's freaking hilarious.
  17. Wow. What a hard ass. Challenging a skinny British man to a fight... and not even giving him the benefit of the bell! So impressive.
  18. Shiver would be great. Spies or Daylight would be great, but they'd have to have some sort of slide effect. Don't Panic is good too, but a bit slow and too short I'd imagine. And if they didn't mind more obscure songs, Only Superstition. If they ever did have a Coldplay song on Guitar Hero though, it'd probably be In My Place, because it's really the only guitar-led hit they've had (Besides 'Talk'), but it'd be really easy. NO NO. You know what they need? God Put A Smile Upon Your Face! They might do 'Fix You' too, but only the bridge. Haha! Could you imagine only have a section of a song?
  19. If he doesn't download it/rip it/buy it, then he won't have anything to bitch about. So yes.
  20. Aw! That's the coolest.
