How does 'short and concise' and 'best ever' negate themselves? Some of the best albums ever are shorter (Either by time or by track number). Short and concise does not a middling album make! I mean... look at 'Parachutes'. Nine tracks (Don't Panic and Parachutes being brief tracks along with the "tenth" track Life is for Living) and it's one of the greatest albums released in the last ten years. Certainly one of the best debut albums ever.

It's kind of a presumption on my part, but there was an entry where Chris was talking about how their "fifth member" went away but that they "got him back". And if you look at some of Prospeckt's past entries, he mentions his past with them (In one he talks about just starting out in a tiny rehersal room). There's more than that as well, so that leads me to believe that there's a 99% chance that it's Phil.

The person writing it is Phil Harvey, Coldplay's first manager and 'fifth member'. He left after Parachutes I believe to prusue a degree of some sort (I think), but now he's back and I think that is going to hugely positively effect the album. I'm very excited.

Why is it that Coldplay covers suck? I've never heard one that was good.

Sorry? How do you know? Although is sounds near complete, the entry never said anything about it being finished. We could be waiting another three months or, just as likely, have an ablum title and release date tomorrow. Who knows? But don't presume like that.

Energy doesn't only apply to tempo and 'hardness'. Energy is a quality, an element to any song. I'm listening to Beirut's new album (They're like a folk band) and I can say that it has a different energy from their last album. It seems more intense and urgent. Do you see? To assume that Coldplay's gone thrash metal on us is almost as absurd as thinking that they've gone hip-hop/jazz on us. Although I suppose nothing's impossible....
