Oh yes, my friends definately saw the light! I just love having that little knowledge that I can throw back at them when they go all "Omg I've loved Coldplay foreverz" LOL!

I'm from the US, Rhode Island to be exact. I love love love Radiohead (your avi is brilliant, by the way). I like my classic rock (Beatles, Dylan, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, The Who, The Doors, solo Lennon, Bruce Springsteen even though he's not REALLY classic rock), but I like "new" stuff too. Coldplay, Oasis, REM, Radiohead!, etc. And then I like movie soundtracks... but that's the really dorky side of me... :\ LOL!

Love can kill you... :stunned: I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad you've recovered now :) My unrequited love for a guy 2 (now almost 3) years ago lead to the beginings of my depression. I won't say it caused it, but it definately didn't help me feel good about myself! LOL! :\ It's hard falling in love at a young age, and I still haven't let him go. I need to forget about him! Everytime I think about him I find my mood getting really low. I just.... I can't stop that feeling, you know? And I find myself unable to really invest in anyone else, I haven't even had a crush on a realistic guy in so long. Love is a bitch.

You don't have to take anything back, I don't deny people the right to share their opinions! But I reserve the right to defend my opposing one ;) Don't worry about it at all, I'm actually glad for it. It made me put them back on....... :uhoh: LOL!!!

I had defend U2 four times today. I think that's a record. LMFAO! I had to defend Coldplay 3 years ago, when they were on the Grammys the first time. All my friends made fun of Chris the next day because of his... um.... eratic and excited piano playing technique...! Well, now all those people are rabid fans. Yeah, right. I know the truth.

lmfao, you're right it is my opinion. It's how I look at the world, and how I respond to people who put down things that are important to me in my life. I get prickly when people insult U2, because they have shaped me into who I am as a person, they have made me better. I feel like when people call them crap, I feel like crap. I can't help that. It just makes me damn sad. :\

I've had about 4 fights defending U2 today, but I think it's useless. I will say this just once more, until you have REALLY LISTENED to every SINGLE ALBUM, seen them in concert and MET THEM, then I will listen and take your opinion to heart. Until then, to me, you just don't know what you're talking about ;)

Ah, ok. I think I see what you're saying. So, the press reactions toward Cobain led him to kill himself, which was not LITERALLY him killing himself, but the press figuratively killing him? But you do think that he pulled the trigger and aimed the barrel at his head, no?:thinking: Hate to break it to you, but no matter what or who leads someone to suicide, that's still what it is.

:( This thread's turning into the other one. I want all people to stay, they shouldn't go because there are "stupid" or "pointless" threads being made. Now, some of the threads made last night I admit were a little unnecessary. But... Well, the lounge hasn't been this interesting to me in awhile with all these "dumb" threads. Some spam is good spam. There are plenty of other stupid threads around here. Like, REALLY stupid (How many PMs do you have guys!?!?!?!?!), but those people who make them aren't getting voted off the "island". People need to lighten the hell up around here. Jeebus.

Then how'd he die? Or did the FBI kill him? I don't believe these things. It's like people saying Jim Morrison was killed by his girlfriend Pam. Now, I did think about that. However, listening to the Doors' lyrics I can hear that Jim had such an obsession with death it was only a matter of time before he did himself in. People also argue that John Lennon was shot by Chapman because Chapman was an agent of Nixon's, who hated Lennon. I don't believe that either. It's just too... speculative. I've come to the conclusion that I believe Cobain killed himself, but I don't know enough about the subject to speak as an expert (and if anyone does, then direct me to them).

I think Kurt Cobain is overrated. I don't like to say my opinion on certain bands, because I don't want people to turn it back around on me (which is ALL too easy). But I really hate Nirvana's music (and yes I have tried listening to them, yes). Why is he considered a "hero"? Because he was deeply disturbed and shot himself? Shot himself when he had a beautiful daughter. Shot himself and destroyed not only his own life, but left his equally disturbed wife to "raise" their daughter alone. Suicide is not something I am belittling. I'd be the LAST person to do that. But I'm all for people making their lives worthwhile. Now, see, I love Jim Morrison. He probably killed himself. Is he a hero? No. He is not a hero. He destroyed himself. Was he brilliant? Yes. Is he a legend? Time has shown he is. I don't know if this is because of his death, I hope not. But I see the same thing has happened with Kurt Cobain. People glorify suicide like it was a noble thing to do. No. It's not. Death a legend makes not. Brilliance, it does. And in my humble opinion, Nirvana was far from brilliant.
