Oh I ADORE Irish music and films set in Ireland. One day I shall go there and taste it for real!! Danny Boy - did anyone see Last Night of the Proms? That group of young Irish girls - it was fantastic! I don't know Summer Wine, nor Fields of Athenry - sounds lovely though.

Yeah yeah!! I was at Filton Tech when they were testing the engines slung underneath the Vulcan Bomber, would you believe! They used to sit that thing with its bottom facing our windows and let it rip! EVERYTHING used to vibrate and things would fall off the walls lol!! Yeah, the runway was extended for Concorde - they flattened a village called Charlton Mead (or Charlton something), and then built a new estate a bit further along and called it by the same name as a sort of token to those poor folks who'd had to be re-housed. I lived in Horfield before I lived here in Emerson's Green -I lived in Uphill Road, which was just off Springfield Ave - between Downend Road and Muller Road. Know it?

Doogie, you lived in Filton! In 1998 we moved into our house in Emerson's Green, and just as we arrived with the furniture van Concorde did a circuit right overhead, low, and landed at Filton! It must have been a flypast just for us!!
