  1. Hi! I share your interest for the wedding album! It would be nice to know from the band what was their supposed tracklist; I suspect there may have been other songs which are still unknown to the fans... the narration behind this album is fascinating, even though it has never been released in its final form (I read somewhere about the fact that after the Viva era there was a change in the style of the website, pointing to the wedding album). Thank you for sharing your tracklist. I love the Every vote counts version of Charlie Brown, it would fit well for the purpose. Why do you think Ufo was called Wilderness? I'm sorry if it's a silly question, but I can't get the connection๐Ÿ™ˆ
  2. Hi! I think you can actually find it on YouTube, there is also a remastered version in HD (search for "Coldplay Toronto 2006 full concert")! It should be the same show which airs tonight in the UK (maybe someone else can confirm). Hope this answer can help Btw it is an awesome concert, definitely my favourite among the ones I've seen recorded ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. Biutyful has grown on me a bit since October (still not a fan of the chipmunk's voice), but I think it would be definitely weird to see a live performance. I'm hopeful for the live version of Humankind though It's a possibility, but I imagine that this would make the show slightly redundant in terms of effects; personally I think that the only song we will get with images behind the band on the screen will be MU
  4. I do partially agree with this. Chris actually said that the Coldplay catalogue will be over, but not that they are going to stop being a band. So I think that each member will definitely devote time to other personal projects and interests, but that they will still come together to do performances occasionally. Maybe they won't tour for album anniversaries, but as far as the relationships between band members remain good, I think there aren't enough good reasons for them to definitely split up. I just feel that they will keep themselves open to every possibility.
  5. Definitely on point for the current times...
  6. I've missed something, when did he actually say that MOTS 2 and the musical album (or whatever it is) will be in 2024? Is there another interview or something else apart from the recent one on the BBC? I'm asking because if this is true, FFTF 2024 may be related to the musical rather than to MOTS I can't wait to see what he intende with the expression "back to the roots"...
  7. So so far the thing seems like they are going to end MOtS, release the musical album (or what ever it will be, Chris was very vague about this so there is something going on, for sure) and the last self titled album Maybe during the pandemic they ended up working on more materials that they had initially planned, so now during the tour they may simply finish what they started. We don't know if their original plan was to release MOTS a little bit before they actually did, but they were forced to wait. If this was the case, then in the meanwhile they may have worked on other stuff... I mean, the guys have been prolific over time, and I'm sure that somehow they will remain prolific in the future, despite the "deadline" Edit: I was also thinking about their contract with Parlophone, but I'm not an expert at all about this things, so I imagine that there may be a billion of good reasons to sign, for both parties, and not necessarily tied with releasing new albums. It is difficult to predict something on such bases for us as fans; it may simply be a natural outcome of their career/musical business, and of course it would be ok
  8. This could also actually make sense... Any thoughts about the "musical album"? I mean, I'm curious to see what it will be. He seemed quite serious about it, so I think there is definitely something going on
  9. I completely feel you about this, because I became a fan around MX era, so I've missed their beginnings and VLV, not to mention that I haven't still seen them live (but there are still chances for this)... Well yeah it seems a bit rushed actually, but on the other hand I think it's the first time he clearly gives us a "deadline", so I'm prone to believe him. I wonder how and when they came to this decision (before or after the pandemic? Or was it already planned many years in advance?)
  10. I think the ranks have been changed due to the upgrade, and as far as I can understand, everyone is a newbie now... Maybe I'm wrong, moderators could know more about this!
  11. @Doomotron and @TheLostColdplayer thank you both for answering!? I have always known about the unreleased tracks on YouTube which came straight from VLV sessions and I've supposed that something must have happened at the time, or maybe a bit later... anyway, I didn't know about the fact that "Famous Old Painters" appeared as a title on their official site; that's interesting and gives me the hope that the guys may decide to release it sometime in the future (among all those demos, that one was my favourite)
  12. I know that maybe this is slightly off topic, but is there anyone who can catch me up on what happened at the time of the VLV leaks? I don't want details, just a brief summary of what happened (someone mentioned this before but I was definitely too young to be around on this forum back in those days). It's just a question out of sheer curiosity! Thank you!
  13. This comment made me think to another theory ahahah Imagine if they decided to perform the new songs which are supposed to be in vol 3 during the tour and to record them only as live versions (like what they did with Moses for example). The outcome would be an entire live album with new songs... I mean, I perfectly know this would be crazy and there are less than zero chances for this to happen, but reading the previous comments this idea popped into my mind and I couldn't help but sharing this thought ahah
  14. they will probably release something when the tour will have already started, so it could be an option. I've never thought about this before. But I personally have a doubt about this theory: Chris said the band will work on 3 more studio albums. If we assume that we will have MOTS vol2, MOTS vol3 and the famous last self-titled album, either vol 3 will be a studio album (so, not a live one) or there is a studio album missing? I hope you can get the point, it's more complex to explain than to understand Anyway, as far as we know, any theory could be possible at the moment?
  15. There was the handwritten message about Coloratura where Chris wrote vol. 1. So there should be at least a second volume, otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to point out the information in my opinion... Things are more difficult to predict about a third volume however
  16. Interesting, I didn't know about this! So it would make sense that somehow vol 2 will start from that or be connected to it
  17. I love all tour previous comment And that's why X&Y is my favourite album of theirs. Because when you listen it, you simply trascend to another dimension. At least, that is true for me. One doesn't think "oh, this album is about space, galaxy, planets" while listening; obviously there are hints to those themes (both in the lyrics and in the melodies), but it is more an experience of being transported away from where you are. In the hindsight, it may be that X&Y is so powerful because it represents a very complex period for the band: it seems as if they captured the difficulties they were in and tried to lift themselves out of what was happening. I think that in MOTS they managed to recreate the magic of being "transported to another dimension" in Coloratura and in Infinity sign; other songs which still I like (Humankind or People of the pride for example) to me lack this element a bit. It seems as if each song is a piece of a different story. It would be interesting if vol 2 or 3 somehow continued all the potential stories started in vol. 1... who knows! Btw I love reading all these opinions
  18. I'm curious about how they will (well, at this point, I'd better say "how they have", assuming that they have already planned everything) build the whole thing. With MX there were the comics, GS didn't actually need anything particular as the inspiration was from a real life event. For other albums there were more themes than stories in the traditional sense, so we will see? No, I also think that definitely there isn't this element of criticism towards the contemporary world, probably because they have decided to head in a different commercial and artistic direction (also in Coloratura, which is my favourite of the album, these themes are simply not there). As usual, they have preferred variety, which is very coldplay-ish? I really like EL themes however, I think they fit well for them, also because of all their social involvement over the years!
  19. It was during the pandemic in 2020, when Chris did two or three (I don't remember exactly) mini-live shows for the Together At Home series with Global Citizen. You can easily find them on YouTube! I remember he mentioned Us against the world on that occasion I also had a similar dream recently!!! I also woke up with a Coldplay related dream this morning? I would put the thing this way: so far, in terms of storyline behind the single album, it seems a bit messy. That's an opinion about the story, the narrative behind the single album. But if I consider that MOTS 1, 2 and 3 is supposed to tell us a story, like MX does, than I would consider MOTS 1 as the "introduction", which presents where the events will take place. So, I expect that somehow in the end the perceived lack of cohesion of the first volume will be compensated. It happens all the time with books or film, so conceptually it could work in music. We will see. It is also true that other previous album (just to mention one, AROBTTH, but actually many of their album, as someone has pointed out here) don't have a narration/story behind either, but they are great. In those cases cohesion is given more by the feeling and themes of the album, than by a story: there isn't any story to tell, but the mood set by the album ties everything together. With MOTS 1 they are somehow in between: the album tries to tell a story, but in a future perspective, so for the moment we can't really connect with it. At the same time, the album is so varied in terms of songs, that there isn't a prevailing feeling which represents all the tracks and which could tie everything together. Personally I have the feeling that the final outcome, so all the complete MOTS project, will overcome the flaws of the single albums. Or at least, once every volume is out, some issues and choices about this first volume will be clearer than they are now! Agree with this interpretation a lot!
  20. I somehow feel that they won't end where they started (because they have evolved and experimented a lot), but that at the same time I think that they won't ignore their starting point in their last album. However it's still early to make predictions which are more than opinions
  21. Aurora in some languages is also the condition of sunrays in the moment immediately before or after the dawn, it deals with the end of darkness (don't ask for details, I can't explain it better as I'm not an expert). I don't know if this makes any sense, but I haven't thought about this before reading the last post
  22. I know, I know (I'm part of the "saddened people" ahah?). I can't believe this interview was 10 years ago! On the one hand they have changed a lot, on the other hand they are basically the same, if this makes sense? by the way, MX has grown on me over time, it's not one of my favorites but I have re-evaluated it
