  1. Can't remember exactly when and where, Chris said that they have tried to write 5 songs for Bond, but they were not good enough. It was in a recent interview however, of this month or of September. Actually I think it was just joking when he said that, but I may be wrong... I'm sorry but I can't recall the details of this?
  2. I love reading these opinions! Anyway, I don't have any idea about what they have planned to actually do, so I'll write what could make sense on the basis of the few details we have? I think there are 2 options, depending on how we consider the album with unreleased songs. My guess for the first option (which considers the album with unreleased songs as one of the three remaining albums) is 2022: tour 2023: tour + 2nd vol. of MOTS 2024: pause from the tour. We may get at this point the 2024FFTF thing, whatever it will be (my guess is that we will get the famous compilation of unreleased/reworked songs). Almost zero promo compared to MOTS, but I feel it will be something of very good quality Late 2025/2026: final vol. of MOTS with big promotion+ final part of the tour. My guess for the second option (which considers three albums + a separate album of unreleased songs) is basically the same as option one, but with the addition of a final experimental and completely new album as a closure of everything they will have done at that point. We may get this final album late in this decade.
  3. I agree with you about revealing the name of their (potentially) last album now; that would be weird? But I think the 12 studio albums statement may have some thruth in it. I will be glad to discover that I'm completely wrong, obviously!?
  4. It hurts a bit, but they have the right to choose what they feel. Anyway, I will be forever grateful for the music they have done, especially for some songs/albums? Do you mean the final album? I don't know what to expect actually, but I'm hoping for surprises (anyone still waiting for So sad?!)?
  5. Yes, that was awesome, I'd loved that remix it too. It should have been on LRLRL! I'm also hoping for some covers, they already did this kind of things in the past and recently in Seattle, so I think it would be nice (not so sure this will happen though)
  6. Actually someone has uploaded some videos on YouTube, however there isn't the entire show it's true, his guitar was on fire from what I've seen. I think that it's a very complex issue however, there are plenty of factors (artistic, commercial, personal...) which influence the outcome. We have also to consider what was said some days ago by Guy (if I'm not wrong): they were sounding a bit too rock in some songs, so probably minimizing the presence of the guitar or placing it in the background has helped them to shift towards the final outcome (I won't say the album is entirely a pop album, but many songs are). The last of their songs I've listened to on Spotify was "Everything is not lost" (where Jonny's guitar has a huge part) and funnily enough, it was the first video of the Seattle show I've seen this morning. Then I came here and the discussion was about Jonny guitars, everything has its place apparently?
  7. Same... I don't know why, I just feel it. Actually as in their albums there is a multitude of references to the space, they could try to tie things to built a sort of narrative; but I think that whatever they will do, things have already been planned for the following volumes at this point
  8. Good to know! Thank you for the info But were the two things related when he said that? I mean, were the fact that The Race is coming very soon and problems with Aurora tied in his sentence? Or were these two separate things?
  9. Being Italian I could create a song-type of pizza alternative setlist for MOTS, but I will hold myself back? But yeah, there isn't a narrative, they tried to put some references to MX in My Universe video but in my opinion the outcome is a bit messy in this respect
  10. Yes I get the point, the fact is that with some of their albums they set a very high standard, to the extent that everything below that bar tends to be considered horrible, when maybe is just "not that great". Expectations based on the past play an important role when evaluating these things probably
  11. I may be wrong but to me FFTF is not vol.2, it might be vol.3 in 2024, but my opinion is that it's something completely different from the MOTS project and that may come after the end of MOTS. The only thing which is not in line with my theory is this: I've noticed that vol 1 is "From Earth with Love", so 4 letters... and FFTF is also four letters, so maybe it's an hint to another volume? I'm a bit confused at the moment, only time will tell
  12. If it was that I could die happy, I mean I love the album the way it is (it is one of my favorite and holds a very special place in my heart) but I would be happy as well with a second version. Actually I think that the chances for this happening are extremely low Edit: forget the horrible word pun with Low, I've just noticed it ?
  13. All the songs you have mentioned, for sure, maybe Gravity? But also For you gives me some space vibes actually (not for the lyrics, but for some instrumental parts)
  14. Don't let it break your heart vibes all over the place... it think it will be great live
  15. I think that this is not their best album ever, as many others think as well, to me it lacks a bit of cohesion and some songs are not that great, but one can't deny that *at least* Coloratura has its genuine value... unfortunately over the years they have always been an easy target for critics, to the point that it has become "fashionable" also among common people hating on them. Criticism is ok, it should be there to help artists to improve their work; what isn't ok at all is the way some critics express their opinions, which is purely destructive rather than constructive. Criticizing/Reviewing means highlighting weaknesses, but also strengths of someone else's work, not throwing negativity between the lines or even explicitly (that would be too easy, wouldn't it?). That's my peaceful and personal opinion about critics based on the reviews I've read so far?
  16. The same, I think that some songs on the album don't express their full potential in the studio version, so it would be interesting a live album. Of course it wouldn't compensate for some flaws of MOTS, but maybe for others it could help. I have in many cases enjoyed more their live albums than the studio ones actually
  17. Yes, unfortunately they didn't mention when these dates will be added and where exactly, but probably these are not the only European dates at least!
  18. My thought about this is: "done is better than perfect!" I know the band will be criticised because there is always someone who will say that things could have been done better, but come on! How many bands have you seen at least trying to reduce their environmental impact on a large scale? I hope they will open a new road in this sense, so far we can't deny their effort in the cause. Just having acknowledged in 2019 that touring may be detrimental to the environment was an important step, now they are taking concrete actions and this deserves praise, regardless of personal opinions about their music!
  19. I don't know it this can help, but Chris and Jonny have been interviewed today by an Italian radio station and they were asked about missing dates in Italy for MOTS tour. To make a long story short, they almost promised that there will be other dates including Italy. Reading between lines, the chances are other dates will be added as well in European countries which were left behind
  20. Yes, the fact that he has given a definite number is indeed what makes me suspicious. I think that MOTS "trilogy" will be their last huge studio album. Of course, they may work at other different musical projects, and it will be equally interesting for fans. But apart from this, what I think is that Vol 2 will save the original concept of Vol 1, so many styles of music, but that the presentation will be different (maybe they will change the pattern plantet-language-alphabet) I've just looked at the final part of the Coloratura video to find some clues, as generally they tend to link things. My guess is that they will be move the fans to another galaxy (this will allow them to have more freedom and not necessarily to replicate this album scheme).
  21. If they really are going to stop after 12 albums, I wish that Vol 2 came out not too soon. I have this sensation that Chris is not lying this time. Plus the FFTF2024 thing is driving me crazy, I can't help but connect irrationally they stopping to make music and that acronym. Obviously I hope to be completely wrong
  22. Ok I finally listened properly to the whole album. The premise is that now I have mixed feelings about MOTS as a whole: some songs have grown on me immediately, others I doubt will. I'm not gonna give grades to each song and I'll try to put into words some personal thoughts, especially about the songs we haven't listened before. What strikes me the most is Guy's description of how they came out with Coloratura: with a minimum involvement of Max Martin. This makes absolutely sense as there is an incredible distance between that song and the others on the album. And I'm not saying this in terms of "Coloratura is better than the others", but in terms of "behind Coloratura I recognize the band of EL, of the first albums, of Moving to Mars etc..." even though, of course, the style is quite different because they have evolved. Coloratura also works well in counterbalancing the "poppiest songs" and to me is one of their best songs on their catalog. I'm a bit disappointed by the studio version of People of the Pride, it lacks the energy which I definitely feel in the live performance. It is the same problem that to me has a song like Amsterdam: when you listen to the live, you ask yourself why the studio version is "watery" in comparison. However, I would be glad if they recorded a live version of People of the Pride on tour to overcome the issue. Humankind seems taken from MX era, and it surpassed my expectations; it reminded me DLIBYH in a positive way. I can imagine it played in a stadium, so I expect it to be on their setlist for the tour. At the moment Biutyful hasn't grown on me, but maybe over time I will change my mind. It's just a matter of personal taste because I don't really like that effect with Chris's voice; I prefer the part where there is the harmonization of both voices. Among the three big collabs with female voices, Let somebody go is the one I prefer. It is not my favorite song on the album, but it works. Infinity sign: I can't understand if there are lyrics in the final part and If it is so, what are? MOTS I seems good, but the last interlude is too abrupt. I wish they managed to make these interludes more significant, because they have already proved in the past to have the potential to do it. I wasn't expecting anything much different to what I've listened to (the real surprise was Humankind), because the direction of the album was clear since May. Overall it is not my cup of tea, but I have to recognize that they have made some steps ahead since AHFOD. I'm curious to see how this Vol 1 fits into the whole project of 3 volumes
  23. That FFTF2024 has literally haunted me for months ahah, now I've come to terms with the fact that I'll have to wait
