  1. Yeah, but he always says that. As a band, I dont think you ever stop working on new material, or at least jotting down melodies/ideas for songs. Even during an active tour, Coldplay (and i'm sure other bands) sometimes find breaks in concert dates to jump to the studio and lay down a demo. I'm not saying that proves the album is/n't coming Nov, but just an observation from years of reading this argument; the band saying they're working on new stuff isn't much as they are ALWAYS working on new material.
  2. shots fired
  3. just an fyi, number 2 has been speculated by some of us already, but its good that others see this as well. Just goes to show LP7 is not too far away. Back to ColdLas, someone sorta guessed that the November date could be an EP or some GS deluxe addition (Target addition avail world-wide) instead. So, more food for thought.
  4. Thats a good point. But they could also 'pull a beyonce' and surprise everyone with an album with no press. I'm sure it'll do just as well anyways. With that being said, I think they would opt to do press than not.
  5. reading their replies, ColdplayAtlas aren't even very confident in the date. However, they will keep an eye on it as I suggest we all do now.
  6. I don't think its November either, way too soon. But they must have a bit of faith on that date (even if we don't) so I'd at least keep the date on my radar
  7. Of course news directly from Coldplay (.com/twitter/fb) should be viewed as the most legit. But perhaps not the fastest. Pretty sure the fansites reported things a little bit earlier than them. That being said, i'm not sure either way whether this date is good or not. However, it is something to keep an eye on as the date draws near.
  8. So I know the mention of the name ColdplayAtlas causes users here to spit on the ground, but they just offered up a possible release date: November 24 2014, yes 2014. Before you get too hype, check/read the below links https://twitter.com/ColdplayAtlas/status/497041276471357440 https://twitter.com/ColdplayAtlas/status/497043241892868096
  9. Yeah, so I think that's the release date, not the MV. Dont really care for the single; i'm not a collector and I dont think we'll get a bside we havent heard already. Meh, its all in line with Chris/the band not wanting to oversell the album (hence small tour and such).
  10. was one date the physical/digital release and another the video release?
  11. lol, would be nice if that were to come true. In my view, everyone's basically got their opinions on Coldplay pretty much set now after 6 albums. They could release a masterpiece and still get dumpped on for being 'uncool'.
  12. Yes, I agree with everything you've said, and of course you'd have a better view of it than I. I'm excited for the growth the place is getting. I was trying to get across that going FROM coldplaying to r/coldplay is a step back for me. But of course, they are still a young community and I expect great things in the future so best of luck to them. Why are people afraid of getting bullied? Is that a serious question? People are getting introduced to the internet at a younger and younger age now. An age where fitting in means everything to them. I certainly remember being a teenager and being like this. The options to them are fit in and be cool, or be an outsider and get bullied. I'm not saying thats actually the case, but its the mindset of a current day teenager. Your average teenager hasn't really learned to 'ignore' haters yet. They cling to every compliment/insult like its all they've got. This has all taken a bit of a weird tangent hasnt it? lol. So, LP7...long ways to go eh?
  13. Yeah, so touring in 'a couple years'. I'll interpret that as 2 years (since there are generally 2 people in a couple). So the next 2 years may look like this: Pre-album hype (First single, interviews, leak hunt, etc) - Fall 2015 Album release - Winter 2015/2016 Tour starts - Summer/Fall 2016
  14. Was r/coldplay even very big back then? In my view, they've made some progress since their reddit went through a facelift, but the lack of good content is still an issue; still very raw. Their go at a user created album was a good first step into group cohesion. The issue with r/coldplay is that reddit's demographic is male teens to mid 20somethings. Just go on r/music and try and talk about your love for Coldplay. Expect the same level of love a snowman has for a vacation in Mexico. Not many are jumping to make a reddit account just to join r/coldplay esp when coldplaying exists where you are less likely to be bullied about the band. If anyone happens to follow me closely, i've made my view clear on AP. Some are down on them for withholding the studio version of AA from them and thus holding this 'holier-than-thou' persona, but I see them as a good, legit, and fast news source. Coldplaying is still the number one source for Coldplay news and content, at least for english speakers, and with Coldplay Atlas looking to be a big player in the future as well. I'd defo like to see a collaboration between the 3 big players in the coldplay fandom fo sho tho (user created coldplay cover album, postcards from far away II, etc). Quick hit facts: r/Coldplay - < 4000 members @ColdplayAtlas - > 5000 followers Coldplaying.com messageboard - > 95000 members (lol, as I type this though, there are 11 members online!) Granted, we've been around for longer, but those are the numbers.
  15. Don't think Atlas project is a news source, but rather a reporter of the news (like Coldplaying). So any news they 'make' is of their own deductions or something they found but nothing concrete. Along those lines, they really aren't saying anything the rest of us here haven't heard ourselves. The fact that Atlas Project said is doesn't make it any more true/false. I don't know who Jimmy Dushku is (before I googled it), and don't know why he/she's relevant to your story or why you chose to talk about his/her particular comment.
  16. lol, just saw this post on r/coldplay. lucky you!
  17. While I have nearly the exact opposite opinion of what you've said in this thread recently, that is a great line.
  18. Just to update post 153, I just realized that the logic is a bit faulty. I used the last tour date to signify the last day of the era when that may not work with this era. You see, the last tour date was just this past week but it isn't really the end of the era yet with at least the True Love single/mv yet to be released let alone another single. There's some murkiness regarding when the last day of a certain era is....
  19. no, its not true. they just played in Australia last week.
  20. Album/Era - Release Date - Final Tour Date Parachutes - July 2000 - June 2001 A Rush of Blood to the Head - August 2002 - September 2003 X&Y - June 2005 - March 2007 Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends - June 2008 - March 2010 Mylo Xyloto - October 2011 - December 2012 Ghost Stories - May 2014 - July 2014 Assuming that wiki info is accurate, it appears eras generally last 3 years (1 or 2 years for touring, the rest for studio recording). However, with GS, the era should be shorter with there being fewer tour dates. So instead, let's look at duration from last tour date to next era's album release. It appears to be a little over a year; lets say 16 months. That should mean LP7 release ~ November 2015 with pre-album hype (singles, leak hunt 2015, interviews, other hype) in September/October 2015. All speculation of course, just thought i'd throw some reasoning on the table, instead of just blurting out a date with nothing to back it up but gut feeling.
  21. lol, I was gonna say the same thing. Not a big fan of PoC, VlV or THP either. But its his opinion so hey, who cares if someone likes it or loves it even. Others' opinion on things shouldn't change our own views.
  22. We just got a few Targets here in Canada. They weren't/aren't doing so well and I thought this exclusive Coldplay-Target scheme would help Target Canada get back from the red zone, but they really blew it by not letting Target Canada have it...its almost as if they want to fail
  23. set jimmies to rustled
  24. No doubt the rest of the band dont have as high an affinity to cameras, but to be blunt, its kinda their job as an international rock band to show up.
  25. I guess there will always be something to nitpick at, but SS was a pretty cool video I must say. @ Jonny and the cake - iunno, I just remember seeing the VH video (the first video of the era) and being irrationally annoyed at the random hammer and magnifying glass. Then VLV. I remember the itunes ad and thinking the MV was gonna be epic. Then the actual video comes out and it was shite. I liked the alternate video more actually. However, they did make it up somewhat with LiJ, SS and LiTii But perhaps we've travelled too far down another path now. This thread is for ASFoS afterall!
