The straight male part of me enjoyed the 90 pictures, and the Coldplay-loving part of me can report that the few male appearances (semi-full bod and hand) in the pictures are not Chris. To sum, good news for males, bad news for females of Coldplaying Edit: actually, I can't conclusively say that anymore. There is a hand in one of the pics in a very sensitive area and it was missing Chris's "O" tattoo, but turns out its the opposite hand. More research required, excuse me....
  2. He/She has, but I suggested starting one/moving it here to get more view/help with it.
  3. yeah, I was only teasing by the way, good analogy.
  4. you guys are so deep right now, I can't even see you anymore
  5. While I see what you're saying, my view is that people just aren't as hype about GS because the band didn't hype it up so much themselves. Iunno, I still rank GS as the top 2-3 albums by Coldplay so I don't really mind what others think about it.
  6. I feelz ya. With 2 concerts coming up this week, there arent a lot of users even logging on. I still log on every day just to see if anything is up, only to see 12 registered users online (and about 50 un-registered lol). But from now to the end of the calendar year, there are only a few dates to watch: -these last 2 gigs this week -the supposed November LP7 release date (slim chance of it coming true) -I'll start a rumour right now and say they may do a Christmas gig? But yeah, beyond that, don't see much else....
  7. I'm not as hung up about having to pay to do the show. The Superbowl IS a big deal and many artists would love to even be in that position to even be considered. However, I still don't think Coldplay should play this show. Coldplay still have a bit of the reputation as the softest rock band on the planet. In front of the stadium of hardcore, unforgiving football fans, Coldplay might end up paying for something they might not actually enjoy. For example: a few years back, my country's football league, the Canadian Football League (CFL) (go ahead and laugh americans) hired Biber to do the halftime show of their championship game. The thinking was, here is an international pop star preforming for our league. WCGW? Well, as you would imagine, he was booed the whole time except by the few fans the league kinda added in closer to the stage to try and hide the fact they the Biber idea flopped big time. Now, i'm not saying Coldplay would gardner as much hate as the Biebs, but I'd say the reaction from the crowd will be more like that than if the other choices played.
  8. See this is what i mean in terms of a GREAT video, where ALL the members show up, the band don't have to 'act', and they just do what they do best, which is perform! Even without this MV, ASFOS has the best video from this era. What I mean to say is that the original MV already was a great video and im actually surprised that band didn't just leave it with this video. That being said, both are great and head and shoulders above the other 3 videos.

I have some 'science' to do...brb
  11. I know Chris said he was hoping to have a collaborator on the next LP, but how's about just don't work with anyone? No collabs, no guest producers, just the 5 of them. I mean, they're big boys now, they're 6 albums deep and one of the biggest bands of all time. Is this at all possible/reasonable?
  12. This kinda reminds me of when Coldplay.com changed to a wedding theme before the MX era. I think we just heard wedding bells on 60 mins and the piano version in full at an apple event. I don't remember the reason behind the wedding theme 'cause I def didn't see any of it in MX. Was there a wedding within Coldplay's circle of friends I didn't hear about? edit: ahh, here's what the website looked like http://web.archive.org/web/20091009012117/http://www.coldplay.com// I think they also dressed a certain way for the Christmas gigs and we all thought that was the theme for LP5. That's a bit of a tangent, but i'm just saying the end of the True Love MV could just be that same instance where we think we see a clue, when it really isn't anything
  13. lol yes! I couldnt find my example, but a similar thing happened at 1:23 of your video.
  14. Well, they dont have to be. They can be on Youtube and as long as you'd like that way. However, that reminds me of a funny video I saw; an #ALSIceBucketChallenge fail. This guy got his young daughters to dump a huge bucket of water from a higher balcony. They ended up dropping the heavy bucket full of water and ice on the dad and appeared to knock him out. But because there was a 15 second limit, you never really know if that dad got up! :laugh3:
  15. Y'know, its been about 4 months since the last post on this thread but I'm just re-watching this interview now and there are a lot of nuggets of info about where this album came from but also where LP7 could take us. I'd recommend re-watching it with the perspective of having listened to the album already.
  16. They are making music. I think you may just be uncomfortable with the music they're making if you don't mind me saying. It is just 4 dudes with instruments but they've just swapped their old instruments with new ones. Example, Will hitting the drum pads instead of his drum kit. That doesnt make it bad. Y'know, i've followed some of your comments, and going off memory, I think you really want them to make AROBTTH 2.0. And it's not just you, others as well, including myself. But to expect the next one to be it is just wishful thinking im afraid.... And no one is arguing how easy/hard it is to do, but I'm not sure that's what Coldplay are trying to do. They aren't trying to do the easy thing anymore 'cause we all KNOW they can do it, and its been done by others already. In my head, they're almost trying to mix what was known as 'alternative' with other influences like pop, r&b and edm to create a new genre. How that all translates into what LP7 can be, is guesswork. But just because they've explored it with GS doesnt mean they'll continue with it. edit: and while i'm posting, I agree with the majority that interpret GS as a modern day parachutes for the most part.
  17. Whoa, save that for the LP8 thread there Wilson!
  18. inb4 Chris is dating that woman <iframe src="//instagram.com/p/sC70EsrmB4/embed/" width="612" height="710" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>
  19. Hmm, I wouldn't have drawn the conclusion of them selling out just from this video though....But if you wanna ask that question, no, I don't think they've sold out. I think Chris genuinely likes musicians like Avicii, Rihanna and One Direction. That doesn't mean he's sold out. To me, you sell out when you sell your music for a Pepsi ad, or show up in a shampoo commercial or something. If Coldplay were selling out, they aren't doing a great job at it. If they really tried to, you'd be seeing them in ads everywhere and just raping your eyeballs with commercials all the time...but you don't see that what so-ever except the Target ad (only in USA) and the viva-itunes ad.
  20. I dunno where the idea that 'Ghost Stories was trying to please the masses and aiming for perfection' came from all of a sudden. Chris has said repeatedly that it was an album they had to make. Coupled with what he said about all those songs 'coming in from nowhere' and saying 'we don't care if you like this one or not, 'cause its an album we had to make, etc, etc'. When he said songs came from nowhere, I think that is to say once the idea of the song came, it came out all at once in near final form already. So not much was done to the original idea. That is to say, the imperfections of the song were intentionally left it. Evidence of this was during the hour long interview with Zane where they talked about Oceans. How Will, Chris and the band were kinda out of time in the beginning of the track and found themselves as the track progressed. I mean, to me, it sounds like Chris was the main driver in GS, even more so than on other records. He seemingly made this album to help him cope with his recent relationship issues; in other words, he was being a bit selfish on this album (selfish being used not in a good nor bad context). I think thats what he meant by 'he had to make this album'. So, he didn't really aim to please anyone but himself on this one. All in all, I don't think/feel as if very much thought/fuss went into GS. They just put whatever first came to mind and let things grow organically. However, I can agree with the idea that MX aimed to please everyone. It was defo a bigger album than GS and about as grand as I see Coldplay becoming. And as a repeat of myself and the general feel of the thread, I can also defo see LP7 becoming more like MX 2.0 than GS 2.0
  21. Better, but still not good. Actually, I think the big suits were needed for the direction they were going. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very good direction.
  22. So lets preface this by saying the MVs never really matter to me, so long as the music is good. However, I must say this was a stinker. I already wasn't a big fan of the MVs for Midnight and Magic. A Sky Full of Stars was okay though. But True Love was just so cringe worthy in my view. I think it stemmed from the fat suit and all.... Add on top of that the missing members of Coldplay. Like, WTF!? Either they don't have them at all in videos (like Magic) or they show up in the video and do nothing in them (like Midnight). Just the same gripes I usually make with poor Coldplay MVs. Iunno, I set the bar pretty low for this after the Magic video and I wasn't surprised at my renewed disappointment. I go back to what I said after the Magic video: they can't go wrong with a performance-based video, where the acting is minimal and the input/attendance from the rest of the band is maximal. To me, the best thing about Coldplay are their live shows. So why not give that impression in an MV in the style of a performance video a la Clocks or Fix You? Perhaps they're trying to hit a home-run with a non-performance based video (like Yellow, The Scientist, Strawberry Swing), but they've struck out more than anything. Anyone calling this video a perfect, 10/10 is just lying to themselves. What kind of '10/10' Coldplay video doesn't even have 100% of the band in it? I'll prolly get flamed for that rant, but of course this is all opinion, mines and others. I wasn't saying anyone's opinion is wrong, but I can't see how this video can be rated anything above 8/10 personally.
  23. ^ obv pink floyd collab for LP7
  24. I think actually more like $40 mill, but I get your point. It was first brought to my attention from Steve-O of all people (from Jackass fame). The fact that so many rich/famous ppl have done it and we're only at $40 mill is puzzling. But I'll try and see it as glass 'half full'.
