  1. I tried to emulate that in my comment. There are certainly good videos in the more recent eras. But generally, I see the best videos in the repertoire as being in the first half of this band's existence. And regarding performance videos and it losing its charm after time; I can definitely see that as a possibility. But it doesn't have to be all like that anyways. If they wanna tell a story, like in Magic, hire some actual actors to play it out, like in GPaSUYF.
  2. Thank fuck, at least someone agrees lol. I thought we were approaching the stage where fans see the band as doing no wrong and everything they do is perfect. Iunno, my view that they dont'/aren't making great videos anymore doesn't change how I feel about the band as musicians. So they aren't strong at making videos, big hairy deal. I didn't choose to follow the band for that anyways.
  3. INCOMING OPINION Come to think of it, I may even go as far as to say they've gotten worse at making videos (generally speaking, there are exceptions to this)! I think Yellow, Don't Panic, Trouble, The Scientist were pretty good MVs. The Hardest Part (the weirdness), Violet Hill (the hammer and the magnifying glass), Viva la Vida (MV did not match the song in greatness), Magic (acting) were not.
  4. I don't think i'm important enough for ppl to closely follow what I say, but I made a fuss with the Magic mv about several things. Some of those things that irked me were how only Chris showed up and how Chris/management felt Chris had to be an 'actor'. The ASFoS mv is an example (conceptually) of how I wish mvs would go. The ENTIRE band show up, no need to act (again, let the actors act, let the singers sing), and just a genuine feel in the final product. I get that the production quality was lacking (shaky cams, shoddy editing and all), but at its core, the video is just the band playing for some fans, y'know, what they actually know how to do and what they do best!
  5. It just gets you emotionally hype. It was the instrumental part when Jonny plays his riff and Will comes in with drums. The Habs (yuck) also play it before some games. Anyways, congrats LA, awesome series, awesome overtime
  6. BAM http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?p0=248&iso=20140614T18&msg=Coldplay%20-%20MTV%20Awards
  7. i guess LA NY trying to finish before the World Cup starts?
  8. I'm Coldplay (yes, all of them) ^Winnarrr
  9. I thought this was common knowledge/obvious. Oh well, carry on
  10. bumping info to next page
  11. I was the same way, thinking twitter was useless until I tried it. But i'm no twitter salesman. CBC live stream here (heavy traffic) http://www.cbc.ca/thenational/watch/ very emotional to watch, police conducting a news conference even had to hold back tears from news: 3 rcmp officers killed, 2 in hospital started in moncton ~7:30 local time residents asked to stay in home, lock doors, away from windows, in basement at best even buses, hospitals closed police asking not to share info via social media shooter 'armed and dangerous' shooters fb suggests he's anti-police
  12. thats basically ALL I use it for, news (real news, hockey, coldplay). you don't have to tweet, just follow news people
  13. Oh right, that game. I was watching the Jays as well (beat the Tigers, whooo!) and right at the top of the clock jumpped to CP24 and it was their lead story for a good few minutes before switching to weather and I flipped back. I think you just happened to miss it. That why I started using twitter, thats actually where I first heard this shooting, from a re-tweet.
  14. was watching the game on CBC, and alls they said about it was a little rectangle of text beside the score saying theres a situation in Moncton and to go to CBC.ca for more info. hows about cutting short ONE segment and updating Canadians? gonna be harder to find now with no sunlight....Moncton in for a long night huddled in their closets, can't imagine what the emotions are for them.
  15. Some greatness to report: police as far as PEI racing to NB to help. As terrible as it is, I love hearing about ppl 'rushing into the burning building' so to speak to help one another PSA: in the future, dont be a hero and try to take a snap of the person or share on social media. those ppl are crazy, but they know what they're doing and they use twitter/facebook to track where the police are. call the police and tell them what you saw instead. I just saw a video of a family looking out a window to the shooter shooting at an officer apparently. suggestion, get the hell away from the window, draw up all curtains, hide in a closet or something but ffs away from the window. if you get shot, the medic isnt coming when there is a killer on the loose outside your door.
  16. Stay safe Moncton
  17. Here's another with the logo still in. Perhaps it will be more useful to you depending on how you plan on using it.
  18. its just a frame from the NBC special. I just went into my copy, cropped out the TV channel logo and sharpened the image
  19. no...why....
  20. To be clear, I think Seth is just part of a large team of writers. The decision to add these good natured jabs at Coldplay may not be 100% the view of Seth. Even if Seth doesn't like the band('s music), the can see he can be civil around them. I think they all have a mutual understanding its all in good fun. I personally don't have a problem with it, its not as bad as some of the anti-coldplay fans who would cite this and other pop culture, movie referencing jokes as 'reasons' the band sucks (like its a fact or something). TL;DR Seth is actually a good person despite views on Coldplay (if they are actually his views or not)
  21. Agreed. Saying it needs to be 'completely different to GS to be successful with the fans' would imply that GS isn't successful with the fans. I am living proof that this is not true at all.
  22. So what number LP7 thread is this now? Haa! There was an article posted on multiple threads that suggested its not too far away. The most popular thread is here btw: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/threads/99898-LP7
