what a great question. i have wondered myself what would be the sound of coldplay if tim rice-oxley was in the band. im guessing it would be slightly different, however, it wouldnt be so much of a difference. im guessing that lyrically they would be different, and perhaps more musically experimental.

i sum it all up in four words: Coldplay Makes me Happy. their music is truly moving, speaks to me, and is as if i wrote it. thanks to coldplay i've made it through most tragedies in my life, most i found them unbereable. coldplay just reminds me that pain is part of life, and the most important part is to find the beauty in even the simplest things. :) :) i :heart: coldplay.

comparisons are a way of making bands feel as though they have reached a certain level, or a certain sound that has already been done. most bands although most times feel very happy to be compared to huge bands, it can also get sickening. keane is an awsome band, and im sure the coldplay comparison flatters them, but i guess they do get bothered when they are being compared as tough they copied a sound.(coldplay vrs u2) i like both, coldplay is an inspiration for them, so they sound similar. but they are very different. :)

The Strokes Rule!!! i cant believe lots of people dont like em, i had to search this thread, it was like on page 47869472, they are so awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i absolutely love their albums, specially room of fire and FIOE!!! Strokes!!

The fray is such an amazing band, its more than obvious the influence that coldplay has had one them. their album is phenomenal, although they still need to improve on some melodies. overall i would recommend any coldplay fan to buy this album, its very good. :heart:
