Dear ONE Member: One year ago, I stood on the stage of Live 8 in Philadelphia, the biggest concert event in history, talking about something that was only an idea at the time. It was the idea that, with the stroke of a pen, eight of the world's leaders could change the future of millions of the poorest people. Five days later, they did. That moment resulted in unprecedented commitments to the world's poorest people for debt relief, fair trade, and better development assistance. It represents the day our nation started down a path of our own making. Many people don't realize that development assistance is not about handouts, it's about providing the means for a country to provide for itself. It's about giving that country the opportunity to celebrate its own Independence Day. Every three seconds someone dies of poverty-related disease, but sometimes it's hard to remember that we are talking about people, not numbers. An actual person — somebody's daughter, sister, or mother — dies every three seconds just because she was born on the other side of an invisible line. Yellow on MTV...Chris walking on the beach all wet and dorky looking! Didn't even know who he was, but really liked the song alot, and then went looking for it in the store! Changed my whole taste in music after that! Coldplay all the way! :)

Went to Echo and the Bunnymen concert last night. I wore my purple jumping Coldplay t-shirt. Lots of people noticed my shirt... "Coldplay, oh good band... I like your shirt" Started up a conversation with about 10 guys at break between bands...OMG! They all went to the Orlando and Tampa shows. Just put a CP shirt on and all kinds of people just start talking to you, cute ones too, might I add. Then when Echo came on, all I kept thinking is CP playing with them and waiting for "Lips Like Sugar" Yes, they played it last! Good show and good song! Saw one of the guys I was talking to earlier on the way out, and he said "Oh, here's my Coldplay girl" and gave me a big hug and kiss... well, that was definitely good too! :)

I helped with the 12,000 Philly fliers, and I would suggest black and white, and the simpler the better. Print instructions when to hold up in small print on bottom, so everyone knows. You can print up a pack of paper (500) not too expensive and if you get several people to do this, you can cover alot of area! Good Luck! :)
