  1. Here's a letter I received from Matt Damon... Dear ONE Campaign Member: I just returned from a 7 day trip to South Africa and Zambia. What I saw changed my life. I want to tell you about my trip and let you know about billions of dollars in development assistance that is at risk this week. Each day, I saw the devastating impact of AIDS and extreme poverty, but I also saw the incredible work being done to save lives and give people the tools to provide for themselves. I visited a facility that reduced, by half, the chances of a mother transmitting HIV to their child. I met a 24 year old woman who told me that there was a good chance the anti-retrovirals she was taking would save the her baby's life. The next day, I met a widow who had become self-sufficient thanks to a micro-finance loan. With her new financial freedom, she was not only able to take care of her children, but also began caring for local orphans. The biggest lesson I took home from the trip was that folks in these countries can turn things around if given the basic resources that we take for granted here every day. That's why I was shocked to learn from the ONE campaign that within the next 2 weeks the U.S. Senate is poised to slash billions of dollars from President Bush's plan to fight AIDS and poverty. This is an outrage - and it can be stopped. Please join me in speaking out right now! http://www.one.org/dia/track.jsp?key=51241054&url_num=1&url=http://www.one.org/dia/organizationsONE/one/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=1285&t=OneColumn.dwt The second day of the trip, I met children at an orphan care center in Zambia who had HIV\AIDS. Most of them couldn't remember their parents because they died of AIDS when they were only babies. Frederick, an HIV positive father showed me something called a "Memory Book." A scrapbook with pictures and stories about him he was putting together for his son so he would have something to remember him with after they he was gone. About 650,000 children in Zambia are AIDS orphans. They play "Duck, Duck, Goose" and "London Bridge" just like kids around the world, but without help; the problems they face are only going to get much worse. We can't let Congress cut funding that provides critical assistance to kids like these all across Africa. Senators Mike DeWine ® and Dianne Feinstein (D) have written a letter to their colleagues in the Senate asking them to stop these devastating cuts in funding for the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty. With just 30 seconds of your time, you can send a quick note to your Senators asking them to support this funding and add their signature to this important letter. The work we are doing on the ONE Campaign will change the world. It already has. Let's keep up the pressure and make sure they know we won't let billions of dollars in cuts to the President's request for the world's poor go unnoticed. Ask your Senator to support critical development assistance http://www.one.org/dia/track.jsp?key=51241054&url_num=2&url=http://www.one.org/dia/organizationsONE/one/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=1285&t=OneColumn.dwt Matt Damon P.S. join communities around the world for the AIDS Candlelight Memorial on May 21. http://www.one.org/dia/track.jsp?key=51241054&url_num=3&url=http://www.candlelightmemorial.org/
  2. This so exciting!!!! As CP music makes me feel good everyday, so does this amazing accomplishment of helping a child in need. I know that everyone in that region of Africa is struggling to survive, so much that it is hard to imagine what everyday life is like there...This is what makes me proud to be a part CCC!!! Cheers to us! :2thumbsup:

Your sketch is really good...reminds me of my mother, she was an artist and if she were still alive, I would definitely be having her do one of Coldplay. You have something special, so please, try to finish it! :)
  4. Alyssa I really like this one! :) Used it on the official board, if that's OK with you!
  5. This is just amazing what we can do in just a few days! I am very excited about all of this, and Lance, what a special person you are! Just imagine if all the board members made a small donation... yes, we live in a beautiful world, yes we do! Coldplay fans are the best! :)
  6. ,,, This was the best, I was there in Philly....Chris taking his shirt and shoes off!!! I want to make these bigger, but don't know how...anyone? Here's where they are located http://www.flickr.com/photos/thephillyfly/sets/
  7. Well, I had breast cancer in 97, went through a partial mastectomy and and 6 weeks of radiation and has not come back so far! So yes, cancer, it comes when you least expect it...didn't even know I had it...just went for a regular exam and bam! there it was, the kind that kills you in 6 months! It was a real shocker! So, I guess I can be called a survivor. And cheers to the band for doing this...that's why I love them so much! :)
  8. OK, just donated $10.00...this is great! And I feel great! :) Cheers to everyone!
  9. Hi! Just got my CP messenger bag this week also...very nice for the price! And oh...I was at a sports bar last night to celebrate a coworker's promotion, ordered a nice glass of wine and not even 5 min I was there, "Yellow" starts playing ... not thinking I started just singing away and drinking my wine...when the song was over...I noticed everyone (oh, about 12 people at my table were all stopped talking and looking at me) :embarrassed, not! I just said "What! It's Coldplay...Woohwooh Coldplay with my hands up in the air...oh, and I wore my black tank Coldplay t-shirt that I designed myself...it has the countdown numbers with outline of Chris, and I put underneath the pic, "You're in control, is there anywhere you want to go?" And so I grabbed my shirt as I was shouting Woowooh Colplay forever! Then everyone just starting laughing...Barb, you are so crazy! Well yeah, I am...Crazy for Coldplay! Hahah  Oh, guess what's playing right now here..."Yellow"
  10. Love those banners...especially the one with Chris holding Jonny's head, :)
  11. So yeah...they know we are a big bunch of junkies, waiting for our next Fix...hahah..."Oooh, And I will Fix You" La la la! :)
  12. I posted a thread on the Official site yesterday and had almost 200 views already a few responses, all of which are interested and positive! It would be great if all the boards come together on this....this could be really big! For all CP Fans! I'm sorry, but I am really illiterate on the technical part of this, but I can get that message out there! I spoke with several coworkers at Disney today, and they all thought it was just a great idea...may get some to join the board and or just get involved... Disney's strange about stuff like this, they don't like you talking about anything but Disney...but I can work this into any conversation, since Coldplay has a song in their new movie, The Wild...that's my opportunity to spread the word! Hahah! So, I took one of the blue globe pics off the shirt design and put it on a bumper sticker, it should be arriving in a couple days, to see what it would look like...2.99 from cafepress. Whenever we decide what our charity project will be, which I hope will be something unique...These could easily be sold for the decided charity! And the bumper stickers would be easy to take to concerts, cause they are small...hey, if we could get 12,000 signs into Philly show, we could get a few of these into the last of the shows, well, if anyone over there is going to any of the shows... Just say you are part of the "volunteers for CCC.com", believe me, it works! I was the talker for the Sign Gang at the gate entrance. We would have a great start in profits... we just need to decide on the charity or project! :)

This was on Access Hollywood, I think that's the show that was on NBC at 7:30 tonight, or one of them ... anyway, they said they were out for a walk in the park, so that's cool, they just want to take the kids outside on a beautiful day and in NYC, that's going to be hard not to be seen ... so be it! And it must feel good for Chris to just be spending time like this, a walk in the park, with his family. They would probably have more privacy if they were anywhere else but NYC! :)

    If it's the 8th...well, that's mine too! :)
  15. Hi, just read this whole thread and think this is absolutely the best on here! I will take one of each of those shirts, the globes especially liked...they show to everyone who sees it a picture understood by anyone...liked the code too, although anyone who doesn't know Coldplay would not understand the code thing, but good for all the fans! Bumper stickers would be excellent, cause everyone would see that! The banners are great and funny too! The donate a dollar would raise alot of money...there's alot of members! Not real good in any of the areas involved with the set up...but I can talk and talk to many people everyday that I see at Disney! And that is why I like the bumper sticker thing, as there are people from all over the world driving around Orlando! Hope this gets off and running, cause I would definitely do the shirts and bumper stickers! I was feeling such a void after the band leaving the US, now this would definitely fill that emptiness! Great work! Barb :)
  16. When you've seen them two nights in Orlando and Tampa, then decide at the last minute, that you need to be at their last show in the US, max your credit card out, with expensive ticket from a seller, flight, car and hotel...then print out 4000 signs and hand them out like some Coldplay officially insane person, not paying attention to the security guards...like "get out of my way, can't you see I'm working here" Well, now what do I do? That was the craziest thing I've ever done! Just keep in touch with all you great people and play the music every day...play their DVD's and pretend I'm there again! :) Oh...I guess I'll have to start cleaning my house again :(
  17. Yes, I'm loving that name....Moses! Hey, and an airies too! A great weekend for birthdays...mine (April 8) and little Moses! Watch out...fire sign! Aries are wild and crazy, awesomely adventurous, and great leaders! Airies are are the best people! Congrats to Chris and Gwyneth :)
  18. Philly climax! (pic by ColdPlayFan29...Coldplay.com) I was there! Woooh!
  19. Oh, Nettie...thanks for that beautiful set of music! Now, here's a little something back at you! Climax at Philly!
  20. Hey everyone! Still trying to get my thoughts together...it's still a surreal mindblowing experience. Just listening to the Abbey Road show...it's really good and it makes me cry, thinking about all of this! Thanks a million times for all the hard work every one in the Sign Gang...we did it! ...we pulled it off! What a truly memorable week this has been...one I will never forget! The crowd pics are just outrageous! I think I was so involved in the music during the show and hoping every thing would go as planned, that it is just hitting me now...seeing the actual pics of the whole place....Wow! I love you all. Coldplay fans are the greatest people in the world!
  21. Hey everyone....thanks for all the great pics and videos....it was a pleasure to work with all of you, the Sign Gang! A surreal experience....and we pulled it off! I'm listening to Abbey Road right now and crying... the music, the signs, the totally awesome experience, the great great fans...I love you all!
  22. Did anyone record this....
  23. Hey! I work at Disney...and I get tired of it too, but I think it's great that CP music will be in the movie...maybe will attract new fans, but then again they probably won't know who's song it is. I know my coworkers are tired of me talking about CP every day, and I have converted quite a few to CP fans, even a whole family! Well, I just have one more CP thing to talk to them now about!
