  1. In The Midst Of This - Expatriate. I'm gonna keep saying it.
  2. My favorite tracks Is It Any Wonder Crystal Ball Spiraling The Lovers Are Losing You Haven't Told Me Anything Again and Again Pretend That You're Alone
  3. This first thing that came to mind when you said "blow my mind" was Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest - probably because of the music video for Two Weeks. If that's not mindblowing I dont know what is. Also, everyone everywhere needs to listen to Expatriate. Their album In The Midst Of This sounds like all of the bands you mentioned initially and more. It does get a little noisy at times but I think it's the perfect record pretty much.
  4. I don't mind the artwork myself. I'm a bit worried about the album itself though, I enjoyed their debut and really enjoyed all the stuff between the first and second albums, I didn't like FWN or The Last Shadow Puppets much though. We'll see...
  5. This WILL be the greatest album released this year! :D
  6. Just cant get into the record at all, sorry. But this is coming from a guy who thinks Empire is genius so what do I know.
  7. Hm... I'm the opposite. I expected great things from this record and was quite disappointed. The only track I really like is Science of Fear and I prefer the single version. Rest is also pretty good, really catchy but you have to admit the song itself is a bit of a joke.
  8. Ready, Able is stuck in my head. What a song.
  9. 1. Union - The Boxer Rebellion 2. To Lose My Life - White Lies 3. Merriweather Post Pavilion - Animal Collective 4. Invaders Must Die - The Prodigy 5. Battle For The Sun - Placebo Cant really be bothered doing the others. I haven't listened to much Australian music this year (though there are promising releases coming out) and there are far too many brilliant songs to go through.
  10. Erm... http://www.abc.net.au/rage Edit - Nevermind, it appears they're re-made the video. Why? Who knows, seems a bit pointless to me seeing as Sweet Disposition wasn't released that long ago. Wouldn't it make more sense to release a new track as the next single?
  11. Naw, I'm gonna wait it out for the record and hear it in full then (which shouldn't be too long now, not too long at all). No point in having too many spoilers
  12. Hm... I thought that was posted before. Obviously not, strange as it's been out for a while. I gotta admit it scared the fuck out of my initially but like the song it's grown on me so much. Now it's probably my favorite video of 2009 so far.
  13. All I know is I want a cigarette hat. :laugh3:
  14. Good News Week + Smoke Machine = Extreme :laugh3:, Kav or no Kav. And I loved his singing voice when he was doing that duet with Ross. Very professional :laugh3:
  15. Who watched Good News Week last night? Kav was on. Hilarious.
  16. I don't think there's any danger of that happening. Not yet, though if so they've released much more at this point than most bands have so you can't complain too much. Listening to Focus Group at the moment. What a tune.
  17. That's pretty strange. You could probably type the myspace address into file2hd.com if you wanna hear the songs.
  18. They're really prolific. 3 albums (inc Weird Era cont), 2 EPs and a solo album in what, 2 years? And there's some really top quality stuff on all of it. I would recommend for beginners (2 songs from each release since Turn It Up Faggot) Cryptograms Strange Lights (great video) Dr. Glass Like New Never Stops Nothing Ever Happened VHS Dream Focus Group Disappearing Ink Famous Last Words
  19. A kind soul has set up a Facebook group for us. Join if you wish. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=110036946952
  20. Can I count on a link to this in the multimedia room next week?
  21. Funnily enough, I just spend last night downloading their EPs. Their latest one is Rainwater Cassette Exchange and a lot of it is better than what's ended up on Microcastle.
  22. Thanks. Also some of the much more obscure pieces have been moved to here myspace.com/theparadoxillusion
  23. We had a big Lisztomania singalong in class today. Me and about 5 other students. It was so spontaneous yet so much fun, I had no idea that song was so popular. :laugh3:
  24. I'll have to admit that's a cool video. Gotta be fake though.
  25. I'm glad you like it! The ingredients bit was stolen from Gomez's In Our Gun booklet but we thought it'd be fun to do our own.
