  1. 'This is a disaster for the BNP, both on a PR front and a security level' When have they ever had GOOD PR?! I don't think the addresses, email addresses and phone numbers should have been posted. There were children on the list after all. I do, however, think that the public have a right to know exactly who is a member. Maybe the names alone would have been enough? Although I suppose just posting names could cause a few problems - false accusations etc. I don't know. I just can't believe a party like this actually exists.
  2. I don't think I'd even say "Hi" to them.
  3. Eek really? No Christmas card for them this year then! I had a look too. I had a feeling it would get taken offline so I was going to copy/paste them all to Word for future reference but I decided I couldn't really be bothered.
  4. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7736794.stm Did anyone have a look before it was taken offline?
  5. I did study French but I didn't watch Cafe des Reves. Was Jake in it speaking French?
  6. I'mEnglish first, then British.
  7. I've just seen the video on Q. As the greatone said, it's the same apart from that it switches to Jay-Z doing his thang and you can still see him on TerryVision while the band are playing. I think he has a Viva, military style jacket on too, and a shirt with a big 'V' on the front, maybe, unless I was seeing things.
  8. Are the MOBO Awards necessary? Do Radio 1 really need Trevor Nelson to bang on about BLACK MUSIC all the time? Do book shops like Borders need BLACK literature sections? I know this has nothing to do with being British, I'm just responding to that email.
  9. Ashes - Embrace
  10. Apparently one out of three Catholic priests are homosexual. http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_rcc.htm
  11. There was a debate about this and Prop 8 on Larry King last night. As someone else has already said, it's a no-brainer. "Sadly, fueled by misinformation, distortions and lies, millions of voters went to the polls yesterday and said YES to bigotry, YES to discrimination, YES to second-class status for same-sex couples".
  12. I saw one a while ago where Simon couldn't remember which bands and celebrities the show hated and was asking the guests for help. "Kate Nash, do we like her or is she shit?"
  13. Thank god Mark and Wino didn't record it.
  14. Blur - The Universal Travis - Turn Keane - Somewhere Only We Know U2 - City Of Blinding Lights The Beatles - In My Life The Verve - This Is Music If Embrace and Elbow can be added to the list then I'll have Ashes and One Day Like This instead of The Beatles and City Of Blinding Lights.
  15. A poll for the top 6 Coldplay songs might be a good idea. How we're going to choose another 6 songs I have no idea.
  16. Here's mine: Part 1 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1IBP4QCP Part 2 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=88UXRUJ8
  17. Did they actually say that or is this a wind-up?
  18. You Internet-dwellers, you like your music. You congregate on band forums to talk about the acts that you like. You’ll argue for ten pages over whether Foo Fighters or Nirvana were better. You'll dedicate threads to your favourite tracks, song meanings and music gossip. In other words, your music knowledge is pretty exceptional. So here’s a serious challenge. We’re trying to find which music forum has the best taste in music. A grandiose claim, you may say… well, yes it is. That’s what this Rock-Off is about. We want you to decide, as a forum, what you think your ultimate playlist would be. It should be a list of 12 songs, with 6 songs from the band your forum is dedicated to. You can only submit one playlist per forum, so you’ll need to battle it out amongst yourselves before your forum administrator submits your playlist. After a selection process to whittle it down to 16 playlists, we’ll then pit forums against each other in rounds of online voting. Represent your forum by coming along to vote! Ever made a mix tape? If the answer is yes, you’ll know that the order of your songs is really important. The same applies to your ultimate playlist… especially when you consider that the winning Rock-Off playlist will be played out in full on a special Absolute Radio show on Monday 22 December at 9pm! Not only that, but the winning forum will receive on-air promotion throughout the show, plus Absolute Radio will dedicate the entire day to that forum’s dedicated artist. Not bad eh? Want to enter? Read some important stuff here. http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk/music/rockoff/index.html Entering The Rock-Off is open to all UK and international internet forums who are dedicated to a music artist. The competition opens at 4.30pm (GMT) on Sunday 9 November 2008. The playlist submitted for entry must be on behalf of the forum, not you as an individual. Only one playlist is permitted from each forum and must be submitted by a forum administrator or moderator. (As part of the entry process, you’ll have to include the forum thread(s) showing the discussion your forum had.) Your playlist has to be made up of 12 songs, with 6 of those from the artist your forum is dedicated to. Your playlist must be submitted via the appropriate page on the Absolute Radio site by 4.30pm (GMT) on Sunday 23 November 2008. All valid playlists that are submitted will be featured on the Absolute Radio website, along with web link to the relevant forum. SelectionAfter the closing date, we’ll look at all the playlists from all the forums, to select those 16 that will make it through to the knock-out stage. Your playlist will be looked at by the Absolute Radio Rock-Off panel – made up of five members of the Absolute Radio team: Ben Jones, Head of Music, Station Producer, Music Editor and Community Manager. As a minimum, your playlist has to be made up of 12 songs, with 6 of those from the artist your forum is dedicated to. Like every good music show, order of the songs is important. Give consideration to this. We also need to see that your playlist is a true forum effort, so make sure plenty of your forum users contribute to a lively discussion in the forum thread you submit with your entry. Taking all these factors into consideration, the panel will then select 16 forum playlists to go into the knock out. Voting Playlists from 16 forums will be selected to take part in the knock-out stage. The knock-out stage will take place over 4 rounds, and will start at 4.30pm (GMT) on Sunday 30 November 2008. Matches will be played between Sundays and Fridays. Winners in each match will be chosen by the public by way of an online vote at absoluteradio.co.uk/rockoff. Each match vote will be open for 23.5 hours, between 9.00pm (GMT) and 8.30pm (GMT) the following day, except matches that run from Sunday-Monday where they will be open for 28 hours, between 4.30pm (GMT) and 8.30pm (GMT) the following day. Only one vote per person per match is permitted. The winner of each match will be announced on-air at 9.00pm (GMT) Monday-Friday and at 4.30pm (GMT) on Sundays. Prize The forum who submit the winning Rock-Off playlist, as voted for by the Absolute Radio listeners and users, will win a special show Absolute Radio on Monday 22 December 2008 at 9.00pm (GMT). The winning playlist will be played out in full on-air in a show presented by Ben Jones, and the winning forum will receive on-air promotion for their website throughout the show. Absolute Radio will also dedicate the entire day to the winning forum’s dedicated artist. These Rock-Off competition rules are to be used in conjunction with Absolute Radio's standard competition rules. Where there is any conflict, Rock-Off rules take precedence.
  19. Confusing review. Some of the songs are only pretty decent, but they could have replaced the filler on Viva, but if they had been on Viva then it would have been a hell of an album, even though they're going to be forgotten in 10 years time. What??? Make your mind up!
  20. She was pissed on the EMA Awards too. Silly girl.
  21. Look at me now I'm not living in doubt, I'm not living alone, no no I can do better. I'm living my life with a girl your despise cause she's taller, she's fitter, she's tight and she's wetter.
  22. I assume so anyway. Who knows, maybe he does want to go POP :P
  23. He's not trying to be a popstar like Justin Timberfake or whoever. He just wants to make music.
  24. At the moment it's Guy Garvey. Ever? Don't know.
