Your wishlist for 2009
1. Listen to music. 2. Get my degree. 3. Maybe get a job. 4. Get an SLR camera and get into photography. 5. Get better at piano and write some music. Can't think of anything else.

Will 2009 be the year that sees physical singles die?
My local HMV stores still sell CD singles. I never buy CD singles anyway.

The Hardest Part thoughts
I always thought The Hardest Part seemed a bit out of place on X&Y as the other tracks all seemed to have that cosmic, outer space kind of synthy vibe to them, and THP was so POP. Has there been a poll yet to find out which version is more popular - full band version or Chris on his own? I think that'd be a good poll to get going... By the way, maybe this should be moved to the Releases forum? If it's fine here then ignore me :P

The Blur Thread
I'm going to stick up for Blur. I really like Parklife, especially To The End and This Is A Low.

Where Were You When You First Heard "Violet Hill"?
Sat at the computer listening to Radio 1 with my headphones plugged in because the speakers were broken, making sure no-one interrupted me. I was logged on here too. That was a great day.

Things you have to do/see in the UK
Liverpool: Come to Sefton Park and see the Palm House and the statues of Peter Pan and Eros. There are also some beautiful listed buildings which have been used in quite a few period dramas and films. Go to the top of the Anglican Cathedral - the view is amazing. The Albert Dock is nice - Tate Modern, shops, cafes, etc, but wrap up because it can get quite windy! Lark Lane - very artsy/bohemian bars, shops and restaurants. The Walker Art Gallery, the World Museum and St. George's Hall are well worth a visit too. Science Museum: I went to the Lord Of The Rings exhibition there a few years ago and had a great time. London Dungeon: Expect long queues!

Piano Chris Uses Live
Are dulcimers cheap? EDIT: Google says they aren't. Sorry, I forgot to check the model of that keyboard I mentioned. I'll try and look tomorrow...

Things you have to do/see in the UK
It is a really beautiful place though.

Piano Chris Uses Live
There is a music shop in town that has a keyboard like the one you are after - the white keys are black, and vice versa. I can go and check out the exact model if you want?

The X Factor Thread
Thank fuck Egg Nog didn't win. The winner's song should have been Peter Kay's "Winners Song". I see there's going to be another series? How long is it going to go on for?! The very first one that See Hear won was quite novel and interesting - wow, manufactured pop before our eyes! But now it's just cringeworthy; all these NORMAL people who DREAM and go on JOURNEYS. Fuck off.

12-Dec-08 - Manchester, MEN Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
If you didn't get a USB cable with your phone then try searching Google or Amazon for your phone and accessories/cables etc. My last phone didn't come with one but I managed to get the right cable off Amazon for only a few pounds.

12-Dec-08 - Manchester, MEN Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Another incredible night! Jon Hopkins didn't perform tonight, unless he came on before The High Wire? Highlights included (apart from the actual music of course!) Chris saying, before Green Eyes, something along the lines of, "This is an old song, by Joe Satriani - he writes all of our songs!" and Chris dedicating Politik to Debs, which I thought was lovely. He mentioned her again during The Scientist - aww. The crowd was amazing and really up for it from the moment the first notes of Life In Technicolor errupted from the speakers. I was sat in Block 102 at the side of the stage and everyone stood for the whole gig, which was great! I managed to take it all in a bit more this time around and I had fun away from the madness and crazyness of the floor infront of the stage! What a week this has been :)
