The Coldplay public enemy list.
I don't get the "lesbians and girls kissing" one. I don't understand the "Rap" one either. Certain members of the band are fans of that type of music and it has blatantly influenced at least one track on the album (unless that's a joke and I'm being a git and not getting it!) And where is everyone getting this "Eno is giving himself far too much credit" nonsense from (links please). He produced the album for goodness sake!

Tennis: WIMBLEDON 2008
Phew, made up that Ivanovic eventually won that - what a match!

What is a strawberry swing?
Someone has given the title of a blog "Strawberry Swing": If I might say so myself, my berry-heaven trifle was pure perfection for the taste buds. Berries and vanilla sponge cake and custard and berry sauces and jelly. Perfect combination. http://themeanderingthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/06/strawberry-swing.html Apparently this is a Strawberry Swing: I somehow don't think Coldplay are singing about a cake though... But I may be wrong :P This looks like an actual Strawberry Swing though:

Brian Eno: 'Without me, Coldplay would be been zonked out'
Holy s**t. Didn't Chris say on Q Radio that hidden somewhere on the record is a recipe for lasagne... And now we know that Brian took them to an Italian restaurant... it's all fitting together. Go find that recipe!

Has America lost talent?
Rilo Kiley, Band Of Horses and The Shins are all American right? Are those bands not very popular over there though? Oh and there's The Killers of course.

Poll: Accents!
I'm from Liverpool, which is in the north of England. I don't really have a Liverpool accent, which is kind of weird. Maybe you can detect a tiny bit of one in certain things I say, I don't know. Nobody's ever asked me about my accent before. Anyway, I voted Spanish.

Brian Eno: 'Without me, Coldplay would be been zonked out'
Good points.

Tennis: WIMBLEDON 2008
Savchuk was unlucky against Jankovic, that was a great match. The crowd seemed to take their time warming to Murray. They were saying on BBC that some fans were reluctant to really get behind him because they still miss Tim Henman - don't know how true that is though.

Viva la vida is an absolute disappointment
That's the first time I've seen somebody call it Death And All His Friends :D

Brian Eno: 'Without me, Coldplay would be been zonked out'
Easy tigers - he didn't exactly say X&Y is terrible; he was a lot kinder than some Coldplay fans are about it! I think CJGW would be the first to say that Brian Eno 'saved' them on this album - taking nothing away from their ability as musicians etc, but he obviously gave them the kick up the arse they needed. And talk about exaggerating a headline!

What Time Signature Are Cemeteries of london/ Death and all his friends In hmm
Actually I think I remember Will mentioning that Cemeteries was 3/4, so you're probably right there Alyssa!

What Time Signature Are Cemeteries of london/ Death and all his friends In hmm
Yeah I've been wondering that too. Will has mentioned that there a few different time sigs. on this album but I can't figure out what they are exactly. They should be in the piano and tab books, so look out for them for when they're released.

The Verve
Rich is apparently going to continue to record solo albums too - I don't know if that will be alongside The Verve, or if the band are going to call it a day again once this album has toured etc.
-
The Verve
The band seem to be enjoying themselves which is good. Nick McCabe souded really excited about the new album on that NME video. The time apart and the fact they've grown up a lot and have had families etc seems to have changed the dynamic of the band for the better.

Coldplay Channel to launch on XM Radio: July 15
We are going to need some hardcore rippers to record the whole month's worth of stuff they're going to broadcast :P

Mixtape Exchange
Good choice uploading Only Superstition! That's one of my favourite Coldplay songs ever :D

Lost is already a single
Ah yeah I didn't see Yellow at first. That's 5 in the top 100, not bad at all.

Lost is already a single
Wow well spotted! Lost! is indeed number 55, and Fix You is at 61! http://www.theofficialcharts.com/top40_singles.php

Chris' lower register
Not this guy, I love his sexy lowwww voice :P

Viva la vida is an absolute disappointment
He/she/it can't have listened to the album properly if they're moaning about lack of harmonies etc. Listen to it properly in a dark room with some milk and cookies and then let us know what you think :P
-
Viva la vida is an absolute disappointment
Your comment about them not being committed to this project is absolute tosh. They have been working on this for the best part of 2 years. I don't see how you came to the conclusion that this album lacks harmonies and intricate, magical sounds - this album is full of them!

Mixtape Exchange
Yes I'll take part too please. I've done a few of these recently and discovered some great new music as a result :)

Coldplay's Christian Message in Viva la Vida
Fascinating to read. Made me think about a few things differently. It's great that this album can mean something completely different for so many people, as the band intended - "It can mean whatever you want it to mean".

Coldplay Gets first UK #1 Single! (updated!)
McGee and Gill will be "wetting themselves thrice over" as Will once said :P (When asked a few years ago what they thought of McGee's bedwetting comments, Will replied - "We wet ourselves thrice over" - or something to that effect!)
