Oh can you hear that sound?
Nope. :( I am however working on making a list of all the gigs where it was played...then do individual searches for those shows. :sneaky: Oh and here's a slightly OT thought that sort of pertains to something we were talking about earlier. You know how Victaniac and I mentioned how it bugs us if we can't find the date/venue/gig info for a random song that's floating around on our hard drives? Well, I think it would be useful to have a thread in MM where we could all help each other with figuring this stuff out. Like, let's say you've got a rogue version of 'Trouble' sitting about....you could describe how it starts/finishes, the length, file size, etc and chances are someone else will know where/when it's from. I think this might be a good idea? Or I could just seek professional help to get over my obsessive tendencies....:laugh4:

What the hell is it about??
I don't think it's about anything as concrete as 'a ghost.' The meaning is fluid depending on the listener. For me it's about trying to find your way and your place in a crazy, crazy world. Even though we're 'part of a plan,' we can't always see what that grand plan is. Humm. Just my take on it. Regardless of what it all means, it's an amaaazing song. :D

Can You Act?
I was a goat once in a 5th grade Christmas style play. :) I still remember it was called "Santa and the Snowmobile" :laugh4: I was a great goat!! :smug: Aside from my oscar worthy performance as a goat, I can do fairly decent accent impersonations and when I do, I get myself totally in character. Cracks my friends up. :D

- Oh can you hear that sound?
Merci beaucoup :D Do you want the Red Rocks one? It sounded like you didn't have it on your list. http://rapidshare.de/files/15860893/11_-_Your_World_s_Turn__Upside_Down.mp3.html edit: Oh man...I've been going thru the setlists on 'the state of coldplay' and apparently this song was played a lot in 2003. I gotta collect them all!! :D- Oh can you hear that sound?
Ha! Same here. It frustrates me to no end to just label it as 'Live'....so if I can't figure it out, into the trash it goes, with the hope that it will be red/led at some future date as part of an ENTIRE gig. Oy vey. :laugh4:- Oh can you hear that sound?
Yay, thank you!!! :D And I'm going to have to do some detective work to figure out this 5:23 one...I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to labeling my files.- Chris and Jonny
^ I agree. Stop trying to run this place. If you don't like these threads why in the world would you come in here and post? Live and let live, man.- Oh can you hear that sound?
So far only have: 2003-06-06 Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, CO 2003-06-29 ''Werchter Festival'' Main Stage, Werchter, Belgium And another, not sure where it's from though...its 5:23 in length....could this perhaps be your Germany one? :idea2: In the process of trying to find the Mexico one.- Oh can you hear that sound?
:laugh4::laugh4: btw, I'm having a total field day hunting down all the versions I can find of this song.... :sneaky:- POST YOUR FAV PICS OF COLDPLAY

Here's a bigger version of the 'piano eyes' one: And a close up of that other one: Thanks for the pics!- Oh can you hear that sound?
Thanks! Do you happen to know where the 5:23 one is from?- Oh can you hear that sound?
:lol:That would explain it!! Where's the other version from? I'd also like to know what gig the vers I have is from too. It's 5m23s long.- Oh can you hear that sound?
Hey, while we're on the topic, I got a question about THE World Turned Upside Down...(this has been asked of Debs before on Q&A too) The line in question (in bold): X is Y The land, sea, rivers, trees, the stars, the sky Threehundred and sixtyfive degrees All of the surface and the underneath Searching your mellow and outsings your key, ah And everything under the sun And everything under the sun The listener who addressed this question to Debs thought that the "outsings your key" part sounded something like "sexy keys"!! Debs said that it isn't that, but she had no idea either. Can anyone figure it out?? (Nettie? :P)- Oh can you hear that sound?
Wow Nettie! You've got good :ears: I absolutely agree with your lyrics. Only thing...the second time the chorus is repeated, it's "When MY world's turned upside down." (thats just nitpicking though) :P That last verse was REALLY hard to make out, but I do believe you've got it. Close enough anyway! You should send the lyrics to Ian to put up. Good work - POST YOUR FAV PICS OF COLDPLAY
- Oh can you hear that sound?
Yeah....I didn't bother with splitting up the verses very well. But yeah, I can see how you confused it with the word 'bullet.' He does say 'Oh like a bullet in your mouth' later on....i think....not sure what you put instead ("Like a thing from....")... Think that if we wrote to Debs she could send us the lyrics?? :sneaky:- Brokeback Mountain
Excellent quote an_cat. Thank you for posting that. Since we organize our world by means of creating catagories and classifications, I think it will be a long time before we reach the point where we see things as black and white, and every shade in between. I don't know how it is possible, but perhaps the next cultural evolutionary step will be to do away with this mode of thinking. Maybe one day we will be able to see all life as a 'continum' of sorts, instead of making huge generalizations and definitions of normality. I'm such an optimist. Yup! Because they can't. :dozey: - Oh can you hear that sound?
