Excellent, another PJ fan! Fave album has to be Binaural or Vitalogy for me. Binaural is probably the favorite, I dunno, I know it ain't their best, but to me it's a gold-mine of hidden gems. Favorite song (at the moment at least) has to be Long Road or Light Years.

The Oasis Thread
Yea, Be Here Now is where I started with Oasis too. It's Getting Better Man is my fave off that one. If ever there was an Oasis song that sounded like the Verve wrote and performed it, and Liam just put in vocals, it's gotta be Roll It Over.

The Oasis Thread
I know it will never ever show up on an Oasis Best Of Compilation, but I really think Roll It Over off of Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, is one of their best, and it's my favorite song. Totally agree with Sunday Morning Call there, and Who Feels Love.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I just heard the cd and I gotta say, this is so Springsteen influenced it is nottttt funny. And this is like Born To Run era springsteen here, and kinda Darkness On The Edge of Town too.

The Oasis Thread
I concur with Sarah here. We need to have Don't Go Away and Stand By Me on this thing.

The Verve
yea. I guess you can really apply that saying here that "You don't totally appreciate it until it's gone." In the case of The Verve, this is so sadly true.

bump bump bump! Thanks for those rarities and b-sdes. It's interesting how The Verve released a b-sides compilation after only one album. Too bad they didn't think of waiting til further down their career.

Man I try to find b-sides of the Verve but they're impossible to download. I hear the ones from A Northern Soul are pretty good.

oh man, those pics are great! But yea the This Is Music picture of Richard, and he's wearing the lyrics on a sign around his shoulders right? Yea, that's a great photo, I think it would make a good poster too. And yea, the Wonderwall single cover, I know what ur talkin about. Really good stuff. Does he do all the artwork for the band? Like I liked how in the booklet for A Norther Soul, on the pages they have the lyrics to the songs, and then like corresponding pictures depicting the lyrics. Like the back of the cd it Nick McCabe (I think) buying "feelings" from a vending machine, and that's of course from the song Life's An Ocean. It seems like Brian really likes to tie in the visual artwork of the albums with the music on the album, not like most albums where it seems to be just pictures of the band members posing.

I really dig the Verve EP cover, it's true, the cds have really good artwork, really captures the atmosphere of the music well.

man, that's awesome. I'd love to meet the guy. That's what I find about celebs, it's like the media builds them up to god-like proportions, and then when you run into them, they're just ordinary people. It's good to know that. Like when I met Chris Cornell, he was just a quiet chilling guy, and same with Coldplay.

oh and I gotta say. It's good to find another person who has actually heard the cd A Northern Soul besides me. Sometimes I think I'm the only person in Toronto who has.... It's the cd where I get my signature from you might've noticed. haha

The Verve
oh man, so true. It's just so hard to find the Verve EP and A Storm In Heaven! I guess I'm gonna have to resort to Amazon.ca. Man, I wonder what Richard Ashcroft is like in person. I wonder if he is like arrogant like Noel and Liam his buddies. And I gotta say, I really dig his style. Even though he is kinda freaky looking.

The Verve
man, I really wanna get A Storm In Heaven and The Verve EP. It's kinda interesting how these guys started off really psychedelic, and calmed down as they evolved. Sort of like the opposite of Radiohead. haha yea, Slide Away and She's A Superstar, definitely my favorites. I bought This Is Music just because of Slide Away.

Alright! A Northern Soul is an insane album.
