Any initial issue will be housed in a digipak style sleeve, released by parlophone. I've also heard of a re-issue, but I've never seen one, aside from the asian compilation releases (nothing big). Aside from acetates, there was the full blue digipak sleeve promo, the full blue sleeved 12" vinyl and the publically released 12" vinyl. Never heard of the 7"; if you have more info on it, I'd be interested. ^ yup, there's only such a thing as the Bros & Sis EP. the initial release was in 98, then it was re-released in 99 (both through Fierce Panda), then re-released again in...i think 2002 or 4 (in the US on Fierce Panda/Brash and Fierce Panda/Sixthman labels). The first two are UK/EU releases and are housed in slimline jewel cases, the latter are in full sized jewel cases with a black seam. the tracklisting is the same for all. Generally your 'singles' present the single track radio/album edits, and maybe a secondary 'b-side' track. EP's are usually 4-6 songs of non-album material or mostly non-album material. They're just "Extended play" versus "full length."

think bootleg copies have made the rounds, you can buy the bulk of the performance off of itunes, but it's missing the tracks w/michael stipe

most bands don't vary their set lists greatly. Springsteen, Snow Patrol, Decemberists, Modest Mouse, Coldplay, and every other band I saw multiple times int he past year....similar setlists. why? maybe because most people don't go to see more than one show/can't afford to attend more than one show, and so the band's opt to play the favorites every night, with very little variation. if I were CP, or MM, or SP or Bruuuuuce, I'd be doing the same. Better to appease the masses then a select few.

^^ depends on the venue, and that tour's stage set up. Ref buying 6-7 tiks in a row; usually the limit is 8, so you should be ok, as long as you buy them all at the same time. Front row seats will probably have to be scalped, and will probably cost $350-$650 for each ticket. Most "vendors" will have either 2 together or 4, probably not 6-7 for front 5 rows.

that's where you need to know your merchandise; looks legit to me, not only with the business card info, but the look of the cassette as compared to the few i've seen, but you'd be smart to research the item, learn its specifics and ask questions. looks like he's not going to accept anything lower than 1000 GBP.

it's difficult to say. when Record Collector released their collective list of CP rarities and associated values, the Safety EP was listed at a higher value mark than Ode, but I've come across a handful of opportunities to purchase the Safety EP, and only one or two for Ode. Unsure how/why they associated those values to the items, but in either case, I'd assume the final mark will be between $1200-$2000 USD. It would have been a brighter idea for the seller to post the item after the release of the next record, when fenceline collectors have their eyes on the band again.

different strokes for different folks, i guess. it's a worthwhile investment...especially considering i had more than ample opportunity to get my hands on one for under $500 on more than one occasion around the release of AROBTTH. considering they presently generally sell for $1200-$2200 USD pending condition, I'd say that's one hell of an increase, only expected to gain in value as the years pass. Record Collector has written CP as being a very collectable band with multiple rarities that are soaring on the market. I am happy that I eventually did make the investment.

This is a great resource; it's only missing a handful of uber rare promotional or acetate releases that aren't commonly found. so should definitely fit your needs, coolchrisg242. RE: White Shadows release, I've heard rumors a low-count promo may have been distrubuted at some point in time, but never an official release/distributed single...but I've yet to meet anyone who's found one. "What If" was only released in Holland and Belgium (and possibly France) as a slimline and promo cardsleeve (approx 300 promos produced); radio acetates were distributed in France.

this is an unofficial compilation, but i admit it's done very very well. one of the better vinyl i've come across. a lot of the indi shops selling it give it props. i picked one up for the hell of it, but it is an unofficial release.

there were two Japanese releases, one has Poor Me and the other HYSTW. on sale, one appears to have a blue cover and the other a white cover (tho when you open it, the white cover's removable). I cant recall which is which, but can look it up for you later...off hand, i think the "white" is poor me and the "blue" HYSTW. OTW you can always download the track (both versions).

hey, the prices seem low because we're all used to seeing how much an item may typically sell for on sites like eBay. Record Collector and similar list pricing typically reflective to the actual value of the item. Say you were a serious collector and wanted to insure your CP collection, the insurer wouldn't look and get a median p[rice for the Blue Room EP CD from eBay or Amazon sellers, because when the band is hot, this CD in NM condition or better may typically sell for $55-$80 USD, but when the fanfare fades between records, this can be found on the same sites for $25-$40. RC and similar mags will look at general annual pricing from a multitude of sources before determining the estimated value of a certain item, and that's preety much it for better or worse. From that mag's publication date, I think it may be a fair assumtion the values of some items may have risin, but communicating with fans would give you the best perspective as to how much you should anticipate paying to obtain some of the items.
