  1. Steal my neighbors' christmas decorations and finally go Grizzwald.
  2. Meh. Valid seller, no complaints of items not received. More suspicious of the single negative complaint alleging the item (a Paris boutique shirt) was "fake."
  3. Wow...just saw that! Now the big q: did winner one get a good deal? Or did both auction winners get very burned? Guess only time will tell!
  4. Think meeting the band would mean a lot to most people, but there's also a personal experience to collecting. At least for me, it's not just "oh, I have $50; what can I spend it on?". I've been in love with this band since parachutes, and decided a long time ago that I enjoyed collecting music. Follwing CP through the past decade and collecting the rarities I feel fortunate to have found has been a journey. I love popping open my cases, pulling out some items and recalling the hunt, bs-ing with other collectors and helping eachother find items. I've had the fortune to form many personal relationships over the past years with fellow fans and collectors. To me, collecting is far more personal and memorable than a trip to WalMart. Though I do agree, I'd trade my copy of Safety for a meet-n-greet any day.
  5. without hesitation.
  6. Oh but, yeah, I can underhand the physical release desires. Trust me.
  7. I think the forum works better as a "be alert" system. Like the Capitol Record Mince Spies promo... Which has a validity so suspicious, I wouldn't spend a penny. I've seen a slew of other items and "heads up" valid postings here, and didn't see an inordinate rise in bids for a particular item. I've generally seen that the people who were going to bid already knew the item was available for sale. The primary bidding war on this copy of the Xmas promo was between a small handful of bidders. The one now has 8 bids; probably some raised bids in there. Sadly, ultimately if you come across something you want, I've found (for better or worse) you're stuck paying for it.
  8. I can see where you're coming from, but most serious collectors don't rely upon this forum, or any other, to locate rare goods. Personally built my collection by visiting hundreds of sites daily and Forming relationships with sellers. The whole physical copy thing...these on eBay look to be radio distribution, not public. Wouldn't be too pissed at the band; they surely have little to do with format distributions.
  9. There's another one up now on a short listing. About 20 hours left. It's on eBay uk.
  10. Kind of agree. Assuming the eBay copy is valid, the hand painted special copy is still (or will be) far more rare and collectable. But, I also don't believe the number of pressed copies for radio will even match that of a typical radio promo single. This is a holiday track, only officially sold digitally; it's not promotionally distributed in support of a record or tour, etc... Unsure of the price tag, bur doubt there will be thousands of these, like a Speed of Sound or Clocks promo. Just my thoughts.
  11. I asked for more info, and only had received the following from the seller: its on parlophone via emi promo stated on back cover sent to radio only - 1hairess
  12. Mailer daemon here, as well.
  13. 66 replied to 66's topic in Past Releases
Interesting. I figured, it seemed a bit strange, a lot of warning signs (j/k), but thanks for the confirmation.
  14. Saw this on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Coldplay-Blue-Room-EP-Rare-Promo-Acetate-CD-/160508591919?pt=UK_CDsDVDs_CDs_CDs_GL&hash=item255f0ebf2f#ht_4375wt_1139 I've known of the Parlophone, Masterpiece and Abbey Road acetates, but none look like this. Never seen a Blue Room acetate with a matte topped disc or with the "compact disc digital audio" logo. Serial on the CD bottom returns to both retail purchased blanks and promo released CD's, and the "authentic" CD/DVD stickers can easily be purchased for pennies. Seller seems to primarily deal in cheesy software and model cars, but seems to have ok feedback. Suspicious of the validity; anyone have/seen a copy like this? Thanks for any info.
  15. It'll have a serial number on the disc underside.
  16. If you post it for auction, be sure you include multiple scans of the CD (top and bottom) and insert, along with detailed information on the copy. Include all serial numbers on the underside of the disc, along with item condition in the listing. Last couple years a few fakes went around eBay; including all this when you sell will help ensure any serious buyer that you have the real deal. Good luck!
  17. The author detailed proper ages for sexual penetration (not 18) and alternatives to condoms that would fit children under age thirteen. This is a very condensed, tiny sampling, of the book Amazon felt they would be censoring. I'm very liberal, but at some point a moral obligation should exist; this is way too f'ing sick. All the info contained in the reviews is obviously gone, but the blogger "I, Asshole" had info on her site if you're interested in learning more about the book. Really intelligent debate there too.
  18. ...and I won't go into detail, but the material I did read was very explicit, reading as a "how to" and offering tips. Very reprehensible.
  19. I followed this thing all day. The book was an independent author that placed it for sale digitally through Amazon. Amazon assumes the publisher role, and claims a percentage of the profits. The author did an interview, and admitted to having pedophelia desires but claims he's never acted upon them. He wrote the book so the general public would better understand pedophiles. (I stomached excerpts...completely disgusting and creepy). It was brought to Amazons attention, but they hid behind the word 'censorship,' claiming it is the discetion of the buyer what is purchased. Of course, they don't sell pornography between consenting adults, as they deem it objectionable... Long-short, after enduring hours of mass hysteria generated by their customers and the global media, Amazon finally killed the link to that piece of trash. Last I saw, there were 2700 comments on the book, a handful of FB pages w/ 900-9000 members each and hundreds of twitter feeds about this debacle. Sounds like Amazon best get their damage control game going, esp heading into the holiday season.
  20. And the end result? Good read? Informational? Curious about the book.
  21. It's one of the US re-issues. Looks like Brash/Fierce Panda. Other is Sixthman/Fierce Panda or Sixthman/Brash/Fierce Panda. Good pricing for it.
  22. If you're collecting, and need 'em, here are a few good finds on eBay. All at decent prices: Rockin' On Japanese sampler (CD only - without press book): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230539895599&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_2485wt_1139 Fix You + Talk Japanese promos: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380243267092&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_552wt_905 Viva/Prospekt's Japanese promo: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300481759229&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_856wt_1139 Violet Hill Japanese promo: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290490001153&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1330wt_1139 also a few kcrw's up there, but asking prices are high
  23. Have about 30-40 to add; most from the last release, along with a few oldies. This is no longer a complete discography; missing a slew of newer material and VA releases, but figured this is a perfect time to anyone to boost their collection (lots of cheap finds out there), so thought this might help some new collectors as a guide. File is a Word doc, saved in the 2003/7 format. 542 items listed http://rapidshare.com/files/424359540/CPdoc.doc (choose the free download) or if you're anti-rapidshare: http://www.MegaShare.com/2652983 (again, choose free download)
  24. Only a few hundred copies were made and distributed in EU markets; paid $200 US two years ago for mine. no clue what someone would be asking for it now. Keep an eye on all EU ebay sites and rare record locales.
