  1. Marvin Gaye's entire "What's Going On" album (racism, environment, Vietnam) Stevie Wonder - "Village Ghetto Land" (urban decay), "Black Man" (civil rights), and most of his "Innervisions" album (drug addiction, race relations, religion), among others Ben Folds Five - "Brick" (abortion) there's some off the top of my head.
  2. looks pretty dirty after the first glance, too.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_sports/us_sport/3489607.stm so yeah... major league baseball is just getting ridiculous. if nothing else, maybe owners will realize how dumb it is to give players such enormous salaries, since nobody will trade for a $250 million contract, and the rangers will now end up paying $140 million for three years of his contract. (yes, i know i'm the only person here remotely interested in this :P )
  4. list of "things that aren't quite right..."
  5. i've got to admit, i'm an onion freak. so i carry gum with me.
  6. god this thread is surreal.
  7. Five words to describe yourself ? Unconfident, invtrovert, misunderstood, laid-back, irresponsible Five words to describe your chilhood ? Long, uncomfortable, frightening... that's it. The sweetest thing you have said to anyone ? If you mean it, nothing is sweeter than "I love you." The sweetest thing anyone has ever said to you ? "I love you." Your best memory ? Summer of 2002 was the best period of my life. Tons of good memories from then. No specifics. :P
  8. oh man... i could go in a bad direction with that one  marrow (good Tom)
  9. TOPICAL HUMOR!!!! SUCKS!!!!!
  10. Right Said Fred - "I'm Too Sexy" :P (kidding) The Beach Boys - "'Til I Die" (for when I feel incredibly stressed out) Bjork - "In the Musicals" (for my tendency to treat everything in life as a joke) The Beatles - "In My Life" (for my reflective, nostalgic half, and for all the things I should have said to people)
  11. Philip Glass - "Primacy of Number"
  12. Brian Wilson - "Dream Angel"
  13. :dizzy2:
  14. stick your fingers in your ears and start saying "la la la la la" oh wait, WITHOUT being rude...

  17. OH MY GOOOOOOOOODD!!!!! happy birthday. :D
  18. actually, now that i think about it, i wasn't alone in 2000 either, even though i wasn't "with" somebody.
  19. valentine's day is such a stupid holiday. if you love your significant other, they'll know, you don't have to spend money on them to prove it. this was my first valentine's day alone since 2000, so give me a break if i'm bitter. :P
  20. yeah, i just realized that wasn't necessarily the statement that was made (with pearl jam and coltrane...) and this is my personal top 10 (i could have sworn i'd already done this  ) The Beach Boys The Beatles Bjork Radiohead Igor Stravinsky Sergei Rachmaninov John Coltrane Miles Davis Stevie Wonder The Flaming Lips
  21. It's ok, as live albums go. It's interesting to hear songs like "The National Anthem" and "Morning Bell" cast in a different light, but some of them you just have to see for yourself to really enjoy them as something separate from the studio recordings ("Everything in it's Right Place," "Dollars and Cents"). But that's a problem every single live album ever made has had. However, it does have the only official released version of "True Love Waits," even if some of the older bootlegs were better than that particular performance. And since Radiohead don't tour very often, I suppose it's the next best thing to seeing them. :P
