  1. Still more Mogwai  "2 Rights Make 1 Wrong"
  2. Top Five Smilies on this Board 1. 2. :charming: 3. :wideeyed: 4. :cheesy: 5. :inquisitive:
  3. There were huge wind gusts and thunder and lightning and torrential dounpours here about half an hour ago, now the sun is out and the air is perfectly still. :dozey: Stupid summer weather.
  4. Well, the more posts there are, the higher this board moves up on that bigboards.com or whatever that site was... on the other hand, the more posts there are, the more he's paying for the bandwidth, I would think.
  5. See, I don't actually think Bush is a bad person. From everything I've seen and read, he seems like the kind of person who would seem really nice once you got to know him, and I honestly believe his intentions are good (even if they almost always end badly for everybody). He just happens to be the worst leader the United States has ever seen.
  6. I have recently rekindled my love affair with Mogwai. Most loud guitar rock bores me to death these days, but Mogwai can rock me pretty hard. And their best stuff (in my opinion) is the more quiet, understated stuff from their last couple albums. They're one of the few bands around today that can do both brilliantly. :D
  7. Mogwai - "My Father My King" (again) :guitarist:
  8. I think I'd rather see inane banter than somebody actually try to justify the Hitler comparison. :P (No, I'm not defending Bush, he's easily the worst president this country has ever had, but Hitler? Please.)
  9. Petty and childish bickering, I think. :D
  10. I'd either watch from a distance or leave, depending on how much it was going on. "Bitchiness" is the main reason I left the official board over a year ago. :P
  11. I'm not really an NBA fan as much as just a 76ers fan (seeing as how I, you know, live in Philadelphia), and since they didn't even make the playoffs, I stopped caring when the regular season ended. :P
  12. Should I assume Tampa won?
  13. Yeah, what Ivona said. It's been a few years since I read the book, but I don't remember the struggle between Gollum and Frodo at the end being so long and drawn out... was it that way in the book and I just don't remember, or was that another creative license taken by Peter Jackson?
  14. awwww I've done that so many times too. I always feel so terrible, and end up apologizing to the cat for half an hour because I want him to know that I didn't mean to hurt him. :embarrased:
  15. Smirnoff Ice = the delicious It's like drinking Sprite, you can't even tell it has alcohol in it. Anyway, happy birthday once again to Daryl, because TECHNICALLY I never really said it the first time. :P
  16. Seeing storms by the ocean is great. I think it's so neat how you can actually see them way out at sea but it's still sunny where you are. I guess you could probably see that some places that aren't by the ocean, but it's too hilly in this part of the country. :dozey:
  17. This happens to me all the time: I'm cooking something for dinner, then I flip on the TV to keep me occupied while I wait, then half an hour later smoke starts billowing out of the kitchen and I run out and find that my lasagna or hamburgers or barbecued chicken or whatever it may be is burnt to a crisp. Another thing that happens constantly is I go downstairs or upstairs to get something, and because my bedroom is on the third floor of an old rowhome, by the time I get there I've completely forgotten what it was that I wanted, then I have to go back up or down to try and remind myself of it. I can be a bit absent-minded sometimes. :dozey:
  18. *shrugs* I didn't even know they were actually married.
  19. It's not June 1st for another hour! So I'll be back then to wish you happy birthday. :P
  20. uhhhhhhhhhhh what the hell?
  21. HOHOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! :sneaky: :wink3: :sneaky: :wink3: :sneaky: :wink3: the answer lately is "embarrassingly little"
  22. Mogwai - My Father My King
  23. They're all right... light, inoffensive pop music, which is nice once in awhile. :) I saw them live last October. It was all right. Not bad, not great, which pretty much sums them up for me. :P
  24. Yeah Pitchfork's reviews are some of the most aggravating things in the world to read, and they give a lot of bad reviews for really stupid reasons. The new Mum, Liars, and Beta Band albums got (relatively) bad reviews because they sound too different from their earlier stuff, and the new Tortoise album got a (relatively) bad review because it sounds too much like their earlier stuff. And yet I can't stop going there... I wish they'd stop posting news, then I'd have no reason to go there. :P
  25. Keanu Reeves is a pretty easy target for this thread. I have yet to see Orlando Bloom do anything that didn't require more than shooting arrows and looking pretty, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, even though there some moments throughout the Lord of the Rings saga that almost made me burst with laughter (two words: "A DIVERSION!"). How about Hayden Christiansen? I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt too, because I've only ever seen him in "Attack of the Clones" but MY GOD that was terrible. Granted, George Lucas isn't what you'd call a great director or writer by any means, but yeesh.
