This will be my first time seeing them live. Unfortunately, neither time will be a full concert of their own. In August I'll see them open up for David Gray and they're coming back to Austin in September for a music festival. Well, I'm just so happy I get to see them at all!! I've got to plan my strategies of how I'm going to meet them... :D I really couldn't tell you how much radio play, if any at all, they get over here because I never listen to the radio. I've heard the Pain Killer video is being shown on VH1, but I haven't seen it yet on there. Basically, to answer your question, they are not famous over here in America. Most people wouldn't know what in the world you're talking about if you mentioned Turin Brakes or Olly or Gale's name. A shame, really. The U.S. doesn't know what it's missing out on. They are so incredibly talented. Of course, this is coming from a totally biased point of view! :D
  2. Here's a heads up - Blur is scheduled to perform on Conan next month! From RockOnTV.com: Show: Late Night with Conan O' Brien Episode: 07/16/2003 Network: (NBC) National Broadcasting Company Date: Thursday - July 17, 2003 Time: 12:35 am - 01:35 am ET About: 07/16/2003 Musical guest Blur. Mark your calendars! :D
  3. Oh yeah, and Think Tank rocks!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
  4. Have a great time when you see them! Blur is awesome live! Did anyone catch their appearance on David Letterman on June 9th? They played Out Of Time. It was fantastic!

Yeah, I didn't like the Vegas season, either. They couldn't stay out of the sack long enough to be interesting. Speaking of Chicago, Kyle from that cast is on the soap opera Days Of Our Lives (yes, I'm ashamed to admit I watch that  :D ). His acting needs a lot of work.... The Real World Paris is so far shaping up to be pretty good. Simon is a cutie! Even though he's gay, he'll be a little bit of eye candy this season! ;) :D
  6. sorry, had to edit a double post...

Thank you soooooo much for that link!! OMG, the new song is fantastic! Hehe, "...bloody game" in Stone Thrown. Just doesn't have the power of the original lyric, now does it? The Angel/Joker cover mix at the end was great. Olly doing reggae! Listening to this just makes me so much more excited (if that's possible) for when I see them live in August and September! mermaid76, your disco ball is hypnotic... :D
  8. So I take it if and when you have kids you'll want all the drugs available - no natural childbirth for you! I'm the same, I think that kind of pain would be too intense. I've been pretty lucky, I've never really had bad menstrual cramps. Phew!
  9. For spectator sports, I love watching the Tour de France (woohoo Lance Armstrong, my hometown hero!!) and the World Cup in soccer.
  10. Watching A Baby Story makes me feel like I can't wait to have kids. Well, the pain will completely suck, but that's to be expected. A Wedding Story has the same effect on me. I watch it and get ideas for my future dream wedding that I'll someday have... someday...

Oh, I love Spirited Away, also! If you like that one you have to check Hayao Miyazaki's other animated films. My favorites are My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke. You won't be disappointed!

I thoroughly enjoyed Down With Love - I couldn't keep the smile off my face! It's got the perfect combination of comedy, glam, romance, and cheese. Of course Ewan is dead sexy in it! :o And Renee did a great job, too!

  15. From the 5-25-03 issue of Parade Magazine, where people submit questions about celebrities: Q: Now that Gwyneth Paltrow is 30, why isn't she married? F. Nunnally, Richmond, VA A: Why should she be? Paltrow is having too much fun dating the world's hottest hunks - though her latest beau, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 26, isn't in quite the same league as Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck. Wha, wha, wha!? Not in the same league? :o Yeah, Chris is in a much higher league, IMO! The nerve! :-x I'd take Chris over Brad and Ben any day! :D
  16. Whoa, I just bought Brothers and Sisters, too, at my local record store, Waterloo Records! I also make a bee line for Coldplay and there it was for 10 bucks! They also had the Clocks single but I didn't have enough money with me to get both so obviously I chose the harder to find one. Woohoo!

  18. Three cheers for the Coldplaying.com forum - the best darn mb in town! :D
  19. It's nice how AROBTTH's cover and the covers for the singles are related. Are they all different views of the same guy? Hmmmm.... :-o :D
  20. Yeah, I'm with you on that! Oldies kick - A! :D
