  1. It was nice to meet you and Mike - and your thoughts are spot on. The guys were so playful and smiley. While it was great to see the boys twice in 2 nights, the JK was a completely different experience, strange vibe from the crowd - Jason does an excellent job of summarizing that show on his blog. http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2012/02/10/jimmy-kimmel-live-concert-photojournal-review-of-coldplay-outdoor-mini-concert-block-party-in-hollywood-on-292012/#more-28332 The Nokia show for me was perfect, just perfect. Awesome crowd, great venue, and stellar performance. One of those nights you don't want to end, and hang onto as long as you can. It was so fun to share the experience with my friends from here, and I'm so glad that those of us who had waited the longest, made it to the front. Others have written their reviews, so I won't add to that. Certain performances touch me, and good lord, I feel like such a fangirl, but this performance really just put it all out there for me. Our boys are such awesome showmen, and truly brought their A-game that night. And it just honestly looked like they were enjoying themselves and that vibe carried to the audience. I guess I'm just as much about the feeling of the show as well as the music, if that makes sense. Just a happy-all-around atmosphere, and it just permeated throughout. I felt this crowd, and maybe it's just because I was surrounded by diehard fans, fed off the band's energy and they felt it back. Some of my pictures, in no particular order. I'll add more in a bit.
  2. Finally back home after a wonderful time at dinner after JK with some really cool coldplayers. :) It was great to see the boys for the 2nd night in a row, and they were awesome as always, even with Chris's fuck-up, and having to restart...but we are used to that. I don't know, but I am feeling just meh about it. It was probably the crowd - very pushy and rude, at least those around us, which kind of put a bit of a damper on it, imo. We had KROQ priority tickets, love KROQ's staff, spoke with one guy for a bit who was at the Breakfast and another show I'd been to. Lining up was fine, we arrived about 2:30, met up with some friends, and we were maybe 7th in line. There were 2 priority lines, we were in the much smaller "friends and family" line (even though it was almost all KROQ winners) and the regular priority line was much much longer and across the street. The General ticket holders were on the other block on the other side of the building. The stage was set up in the back parking lot. So after waiting a few hours, we get the full wand and pat-down for security. NO cameras except phones, no purses, pretty much nothing but your keys, id and phones. The we were walked down the street behind a barricade and waited for a bit. Heard soundcheck, CB and DAAHF! The rather militaristic security dude kept us in line saying we had to follow his every direction or we would be sent home. He thought he could control the crowd surge, and we did get inside, finally, rather orderly, but then we were out of our line-up order which was bs, and people were pushing like you wouldn't believe. I hadn't experienced that before with CP, ever. Pushy people and rude people all around. And more phones held up - heard that people in the back were watching the show through other's phone cameras because they couldn't see the stage. We ended up in the 2nd row, which is ok, but when there is super-annoying cell phone woman videoing the whole thing with her phone in my face, well, then I get pissed. I'm tall, and had two much shorter girls behind me constantly elbowing me and bitching that they couldn't see behind all the tall people, very annoying. And the woman in front of me won the prize for super annoying, after pushing her way in because she was a VIP. She was a different ViP and and knew it...gah. Anyway, you've seen the setlist, and I"m glad they played 6 songs, but the whole experience was like I said, just ok. Last night was the best night ever, so I knew that tonight wouldn't compare and it didn't, but I still got to see those boys, and of course, that is worth it. It's late and I'm going to bed. My photos are taking forever to upload, so I'll put up a few of my iPhone pics tomorrow.
  3. Crazy pushing. Started 5th in line and ended up 2nd row. The militaristic security dudes plan only sorta worked. But we are here...
  4. Waiting outside the gate for Jimmy Kimmel-they should be soundchecking soon.
  5. Um. That's NEXT week. What about tonight, tomorrow night and The Grammys Sunday night all in LA? What an odd announcement - not from the poster, but if they're ok now, why an illness next week.
  6. Up in Flames which I thought was an odd choice of songs to dedicate to his "baby."
  7. Jonny = so cute. I could swear I saw Chris poke him in the butt with his guitar. Anyone else see that.
  8. Ok, well, not to make you more envious, he looked right at me and posed :)
  9. Here I am on the big screen behind Chris and Will. Jason didn't even realize it until we were looking through his photos later. LOL
  10. Here's something for you from the front row ;)
  11. Well, Good Morning my fellow Will lovers. Oh my good god, was the Nokia concert last night just the best thing I've ever seen. And while I didn't have a totally clear view of Will because *someone's* piano was in the way, I did get a few pictures of the best drummer in the world...LOL I will have more for you in a little bit. Out of all the shows I've been to, this was the best, by far...
  12. We also swear we heard "Eye of the Tiger" during soundcheck. Hahaha. Hope you got to nap some Angie.
  13. Um, yeah, so I heard. LOL Seriously, it was the best concert I've been to. Don't know if it was the delirium from waiting all day - I got there at 10:30 and met up with Jason, Mike, Angie and a few others - or just the sheer awesomeness of being *RIGHT THERE*. The boys seemed to be in an exceedingly good mood - lots of smiles and the "looks" we all know. I'm going through my pics now, some are pretty darn good. And I hope I didn't embarrass myself too bad on camera and god forbid, they better not have caught any of my singing. I will leave you with this picture, though :) Ok, and this one... Well, and one more... Last one for now...
  14. After the broadcasted part, ending with ETIAW, they came back and did Us Against the World and Everything's Not Lost. Chris is sitting on the edge of the stage for UATW. He just came over, sat down, and apologized for the sound - don't know why, it was amazing. Best show ever...Wow, I still can' t quite get my head around how incredible it was. And apparently, the cameraman was in my face more than I thought. :\:laugh3:
  15. Think of all the stress I prevented by calling you on your way to the airport ;) I hope you're enjoying your evening in LA. See you tomorrow!
  16. Well, I would much rather not have to stand out in the rain :) It does suck for those people who are traveling, but we still have the awesome full show tomorrow night at Nokia! Woo hoo!
  17. Well, KROQ *did* tell me to wear dark solid colored clothing. :laugh3: Sigh. Just waiting for the rain to start. My husband and I are heading up about 1, planning on getting there at 2 or so. It hasn't rained here in months, why today??? :\
  18. Dang. People are writing on 1iota's Facebook wall that some people with general tickets are camping out.
