  1. I hear you on the sensible mom thing. My kids, however, are old enough to think that their mom is certifiably nuts. "Mom and her Coldplay."
  2. So my heart only broke a little bit when Will kissed his wife after winning the Brits last night. They do make a beautiful couple though. Sigh. And then when Will hugged Chris after that, I melted just a little bit more.
  3. And don't forget the Strawberry Swing, either one of those big boat things that swings back and forth, getting higher with each pass. Or one of those actual swing rides that are on arms around a big pole, then the arms rise slightly and start rotating so you are swinging around in a big circle.
  4. And they could sell the Coldplay perfume in the gift shop.
  5. I looked back to see if anyone mentioned the press conference, here's the video. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU6bh19cmlM]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SU6bh19cmlM[/ame] Chris says they're going to start modeling, release perfume and build an amusement park. They already did the perfume. Anyone remember this???
  6. I will be watching on Fuse tonight, 8pm California time, though...
  7. 2011 was a great Coldplay year for me. Back in 2008-2009, I had seen them 4 times during VLV. I even flew to Tampa with pit tickets to see the last VLV show, but it was cancelled at the very last minute. Now, it's 2011, and they announced the Samsung Summer show at UCLA, my alma mater. I was so excited, bought what I thought were great seats for a lot of $$. When we got inside the small, like 5000 seat, venue, I was beside myself. The seats were on the side of the stage, with an almost fully obstructed view. NO where on the tickets was this mentioned. I was so sad. I was still happy to see them, kind of, and I met up with some amazing Coldplayers, but I was so upset that I couldn't even see the stage behind the advertising banners and the speaker towers. So I was feeling rather let down, by both the cancelled Tampa show and now this UCLA show. I did have tickets to see them at Austin City Limits Festival, and was very excited for that. I was determined to be in the front row. But the night before, they had the ACL tv show taping. I hadn't been able to get tickets through either coldplay.com or through the tv station, but we showed up anyway and asked and waited and waited to see if there were any more tickets. Finally, just a few minutes before showtime, we were given tickets! There were 5 of us, we were seated in the balcony, but it was such a small theater, we had a great view and were just ecstatic to have been able to get in. The next day, passed by in a blur. A very long blur. We were among the first in line and to be let into the park. We were in the very front row, and we waited from 11am until 9pm for the show. It was an awesome day, hanging out with Coldplayers and listening to some great music. When Coldplay finally came on stage, it was just perfect. I started feeling I was finally having the Coldplay experience I had hoped for with the Tampa show and the UCLA show. I didn't think this could be topped by anything. Next, it was announced that they would start promoting Mylo Xyloto in the US, namely California. They were scheduled to perform on a morning radian show with Kevin and Bean, two radio personalities that have been huge Coldplay supporters since the beginning. They were doing a very small show in their studio, with about 75 fans, and the only way to get tickets was to win from the radio station. The week of the giveaway, I pretty much devoted my life to winning those tickets, and I finally did. I couldn't describe the excitement and joy I felt. The show was scheduled for a Tuesday morning. But then they announced a guest appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show, an afternoon talk show. It's one of our favorite tv shows. I entered a contest on coldplay.com and won tickets for that too! This show would be recorded on Monday, the day before the KROQ show. Once again, I was in the front row. In this screen cap, I am in the front on the very right with my arms raised The next morning at the KROQ studio, was the most incredible experience. Tiny studio, tiny crowd, and the band close enough to reach down and tie Guy's untied shoes. They only played 6 songs, but it was a 2 hour show, songs and interview, and questions from the audience. The band also took pictures with the fans and signed autographs. Just awesome. And my very favorite photo EVER is my avatar :D I feel 2011 was the Year of Coldplay for me, I saw them 5 times between August and October, and 2012 is shaping up to be another awesome Coldplay year, too!

From I Heart Radio Benefit last week - right before Chris made Jonny sing the last note in In My Place.
  9. Oh don't feel bad!!! There are probably a lot of people who don't go to the live sections and may not have known about the Kimmel broadcast featuring the boys after the Oscars :) Like I said, it's a good reminder!
  10. There's a thread in the Live section with photos and reviews. Several of us Coldplayers were there :) But thanks for the reminder of the broadcast!
  11. The one I had taken down was from the ACL taping last fall in Austin - the New Year's Eve Special. I had recorded Up in Flames, it was the first time it had ever been publicly heard. I *never* video songs at shows, and the one time I did, and uploaded it, I got in trouble. Oh well...It was PBS that made youtube take it down.
  12. Uh oh...did you have to watch a copyright infringement video and take a quiz before they reinstate your account? That's what PBS made youtube do to me...And I have one strike against me, now, too.
  13. Has this been posted yet? Coldplay's Chris Martin was captured under the stage following his "Princess of China" performance with Rihanna.
  14. Here's another one...or two... Not in focus, but he has a cute look on his face. Peek a boo
  15. Thanks. I just got it a couple of weeks ago. I needed a good point and shoot for my concerts and I was very happy. Of course, I deleted about almost 1/2, because it's still hard with the lighting and a constantly moving lead singer :P Here are some more:
  16. The tent was set up in the courtyard between the Nokia Theater and Club Nokia - we saw them working on it when we were waiting for the I Heart Radio Show. I was wondering what they were going to use it for, and of course, security wouldn't tell me anything.
  17. WHERE did they get that photo of the boys from? It's only like 10 years old...they could have used a more current one!!! :laugh3:
  18. ^I"m so glad you were able to go, Imelda! Sounds like you had a great time. I felt there was nothing *wrong* with the performance, but the whole crowd thing sucked, which really lessened the experience. A few of my pictures :) Taken with my iPhone4.
  19. Crazy rude pushy lady in front of me was screamy lady too. Great video Jason. I couldn't video any of it because crazy lady had her camera in my face the whole time :(
  20. Oh no you didn't just post that...can you please edit the sound on that? My awful off-key singing? Um. Mortifying.
