I loved it too, especially the off air stuff. That was SO envy inducing. I thought they sounded very very good. I guess the Live TV curse doesn't extend to live video streams. Chri's vocals were quite lovely yes?

Yeah, but you haven't posted the details of the call in and then the backwards yellow tragedy, second missed chance etc. (Plus the whole thing of the DJs contacting you as a superfan.) You've got to tell a little of the nail-biting drama!

It's funny, one of the things the reviewer likes is the truncated, early endings of many of these new songs. It's those quiet little addendum Chris tacked on to many of the early songs that I love and miss so much. Like the "So I crawl back into your open arms......." of Warning Sign. or "Oh all that I know, there's nothing here........" from Don't Panic. Like pretty little Post Scripts. Not trying to be all sad and nostalgic and beat the whole "I miss the old Coldplay" thing to death, but I just found it interesting.

Initially I just kept thinking:.....first The King of Limbs, and now This???....I might not recover from this 'musica annus horibilis' But now I've settled down a bit... I don't mind change, I didn't hate when they did it for X & Y. It's just this song is Soooooo bad. All time low for me. I think I might be over-reacting on the album though. CB is wonderful, MTM, though not on the album, is from the same batch and is quite nice.... ... and maybe I'll LOVE some others when we finally get to hear it entirely. They're allowed a clunker once in a while. I'm trying to be positive, and I'll always love my Coldplay. Peace out.

Yes, back to our grumblings about the new stuff. I think partly I'm a little sensitive because at some point the idea was floated that this was going to be a more 'stripped down' album.... And instead it's as Eno-ified an overproduction, at least on ETIAW and Paradise, as it can be.

What a difference a day makes. 48 hours ago I was in LA watching what seemed like a different band. Tonight the crowd was amazing, Chris was amped up, Jonny was on fire, and Guy was actually smiling?!? ...... Great energy from the boys tonight....and a very enthusiasts crowd. crowd
