Are you the same person on Coldplaying as you are off of it?
i've always made an effort to be the same as i am in real life. i think i've kept it up, too. though maybe you should ask someone from here that's met me  i find it a bit weird, like a parallel universe sort of thing, when i meet someone from coldplaying. it's always been wonderful, of course, but it's almost like it's weird to see that they ACTUALLY exist.

Here's €100/£100/$100.
most actual things i want these days are over $100. i hate that about getting older--you actually want NICE things rather than a $10 toy or a $2 pack of pokemon cards. i guess i'd save it for next year in england, but i know it wouldn't happen. i'd find something to spend it on in the meantime, usually small incidental things, like clothing items. or i'd end up spening it on gas, even though it's cheaper than it's been in years for the moment. i really should put it towards my camera's repair, which was $350 :bigcry:

there is no way i will ever miss a coldplay concert if its in my area. not that i ever have since 2005 when i'm in the country, but jeez. they're just too fucking amazing. they make my academic career go down the tubes and my bank account bone-dry, but i don't care. seats this time were...slightly different than what i had last time . i wasn't able to scout out any nice roadies, but hey, i got lucky once. these seats were pretty good too, thanks to the lovely jenn annie (starlight) :D. the photos i took are pretty much all shite, and the few videos i took, i mostly took for audio purposes because my camera has a surprisingly good microphone. i'll post those later, if people are interested. i thought the crowd was a bit of a strange one--you could tell that at least in my section, there weren't a lot of diehards there. people seemed to get more excited when chris mentioned the phillies or when jonny came out with his shirt than when they started up a well-known song or something. i guess the phillies fever is still strong. i loved chris's political comment this time; it was particularly scathing in the exact right way, in my opinion. i have to youtube to see if i can find the exact quote, but it was something like "just because we're intelligent, thinking people doesn't mean we're democrats necessarily, right?" i bet he pissed off a lot of people in that crowd, but i thought it was brilliant. i realized that on sunday, being so close, i missed a hell of a lot. it was nice to be able to see the guys on the ramp and on the C stage, and the monitors...the quality of those things! i've never been to a concert with HD-quality video on the monitors, and it blew me away. they could just record whatever they put up on those screens and release it as a DVD and it would be fabulous. the one thing i would say that is sort of negative is that i wish the guys trusted themselves enough to shake up the setlists a bit. i think they're capable of it, definitely, and sometimes i wish they would pull out an old, well-loved song that no one's expecting. i also think they could play for longer, but i can cut them some slack on that :P. they do this every night and need their rest, plus they all have families etc. i was thinking a lot about how awesome these guys are on my long drive home last night. i won't go too cheesy on you, but they really mean a lot to me. becoming a coldplay fan and joining up to this site has changed a hell of a lot in my life, and it's most certainly one of the best things i've ever done :D i'm in serious concert withdrawal now, though. it's going to be painful. and from now on, i'm going to try my damndest to get floor seats as close as i can. that first night of mine in NJ was the most epic thing i've ever been to. if angie can do it, so can i :P oh! and there was bat confetti at the DC concert on halloween, but there were a few left over pieces in philly last night, because i somehow managed to scoop up two purple shiny bats! i didn't even notice until i was flattening out and de-crinkling my butterflies this morning, but i got two bats and a shiny red heart!

US Third leg of the tour CONFIRMED!
as much as i'd love this to be confirmed later, i really think they should do latin america and australia first (i keep forgetting whether or not they're definitely doing australia or not)...and that would be THREE legs in america and ONE in the UK. i can't complain, since i'll still be here then if this becomes true, but i wonder if this could potentially mean another UK leg in fall 2009...:sneaky: :cheesy:

so. excited. can't. breathe. i'm leaving for the two-hour drive in like 45 minutes. i wish i didn't have to drive so long in a place i've never been to before, but all will be well because i'm seeing COLDPLAY!!! i wonder if i can find that roadie again...:sneaky:

Random Coldplay thoughts...
my friend went to the concert in DC last night without knowing much about coldplay at all, and now she seems to be COMPLETELY besotted. i hope the obsession lasts :P. what i found even funnier was that on her facebook wall, one of her friends asked her "so how was HOTWORK last night?" hotwork...get it?!

Lovers In Japan Video Premieres Fri 31/10 on iTunes
apparently chris traditionally writes with his left but draws with his right, or so i've heard.

i'd actually love it if they were doing this early to go to the obama party after. i think that's a really legit reason. anyway, who cares if it starts early if they're going to play for the same length of time?

my friend just texted me from the show saying chris just said "i think i'm in love with sarah palin, but i still won't vote for her"

Lovers In Japan Banners
mine definitely needs something, especially in the background. others are free to mess with it or steal the idea; i'll even send the .psd if anyone wants it :D LOVE the gif!!

Lovers In Japan Banners
for me its rather complicated, yeah. and that's just the general idea of what i had in mind; what i ACTUALLY have in mind is wayyy too intense for my limited photoshop skills . i posted that for others to get ideas.
-
Lovers In Japan Banners
this is by no means finished or meant to be used, but this is basically a crude version of what i had in mind: though the background needs to be better, and i was *thinking* about adding the white butterflies, but it looks kind of crappy when i do that.

10 Things Music Marketers Can Learn From Coldplay
haha, good point :D. believe me, i know age doesn't matter, but i sincerely doubt anyone would be that thrilled with handing over any important job to an 18-year-old american, just based on prior knowledge of what teenagers are like :P not that i plan to try out any sort of move next year! i'm just saying that they really need a fanclub and i'd kill to run it, whenever that is :P

Lovers In Japan Banners
haha, nice one angie! have fun tonight! i'm getting my point across with my idea, but the background is just black and needs to be way more interesting. also, i had to use a font for the "coldplaying.com" because if i try to write with my mouse, it looks even WORSE than the handwriting in the video! i'll post the basic idea in a minute; maybe someone else could work off of it.

Lovers In Japan Banners
i'm *attempting* to try it now, but i highly doubt it will work what's the size for them again?
-
Lovers In Japan Banners
i have an idea for one, but it's waaaaay too advanced and complicated for me to do :P i somehow want to cut out a picture of chrs writing in the air, but have him write COLDPLAYING.COM instead of LOVERS or whatever :D

10 Things Music Marketers Can Learn From Coldplay
haha, i am, but only for a year. i'll definitely be back, but i have to come back to america to finish up my last year of uni . and keep in mind that i'm YOUNG . even if this whole thing somehow worked out and they agreed to let fans do it, i HIIIIGHLY doubt that they'd let some random teenage american girl uni student set it up! :P. maybe when i'm like 23, at the soonest :D
