Postcards From Far Away project | Previous pre-delivery discussion (thread closed)
guys, the flowers thing is totally possible (assuming they'd deliver to a PO box, though). i could find a florist in london that takes online orders and get them to deliver them. its not a problem of delivering them, its a problem of debs realizing there's a package waiting for her at the post office before they die. i love that idea, though! what about something similar that's not so perishable? i was thinking along the lines of butterflies, maybe...? a bouquet of butterflies?

does anyone have any ideas about a small thing we can do for debs? lore and i were talking, and she's been so good to us, has gone above and beyond the call of duty, so i for one think that she deserves something too. i don't really have any ideas as to what, though. i feel like buying her a present or something :D really, though, most bands don't make a band super-insider this accessible, and even if they do, i highly doubt they're as willing to help us out as she is (if we overlook the fact that she was on vacation all that time :P). being able to talk directly to her makes the band feel that much closer, and that's something uniquely coldplay and uniquely debs. i think we should specifically thank HER for that too :D

Space Invaders Shirt
in high school, my two best guy friends would swap clothes all the time. they would mostly whine at each other about it: "hey! those are my pants! give them back!" etc etc, but i guess i thought it was as normal for guys as it is for girls. not that i'm big on sharing my clothes, personally. the space invaders shirt and the "BEST DAMN SAWMILLERS IN THE COUNTRY" were my all-time favorite shirts of theirs. i wish they wore those still, or at least more often. then again, chris's "BARACK TO THE FUTURE" is completely epic.

Your Menu For Breakfast
on weekdays in the uni cafeteria, i always get a bagel and hashbrowns and cranberry juice. unless there are chocolate chip pancakes on the menu. then i have to get those, of course. on weekends i tend to go all out, though. because its brunch in the caf on weekends, i tend to eat breakfast and lunch foods in the same sitting, since i get up late as it is. usually that means eating a waffle and a bagel and chicken fingers and fries or something all at once

Space Invaders Shirt
i miss the days of tshirts like this  but yes, they share, i'm sure of it. is that an unusual thing for guys? i asked one of my guy friends today to borrow a pair of pants from one of his guy friends, and he thought that was the most ridiculous suggestion in the world.

oh, crap, is it? haha, well that was bad on my part. in my defense, i was in a hurry to get somewhere :P i'll look to see if there's something like that, for mail INTO the UK. but i assume the dates wouldn't be THAT much different, but it is more incentive to get the things in the mail ASAP.

First post updated with all the new information  the START date is officially NOVEMBER 21, 2008 Find your country/region's STOP date on THIS site under "Last Posting Dates - International Airmail (Delivery estimate 10-14 days)" the dates in this link are from mailing things FROM the UK TO other countries, but they are still good dates to stick to. however the earlier, the better.

WOOOOOOOOOO! sorry i missed the party; i'm in a completely different timezone and i took a rather long nap. but i FREAKED when i rolled out of bed and checked my email and debs had replied! :cheesy: ok, everyone GET CRACKING! :D the 21st is late, but its not dreadful. debs provided me and lore with this link for mailing dates, which is really helpful! http://www.lastpostingdates.co.uk/christmas-2008-posting-dates-for-international-airmail-and-surface-mail.html at worst, we just ask her to hold off actually giving them to the boys for a few more days. OOH this makes me feel so much better!

LiT I Instrumental Different From LiT II
yeah, i notice subtle differences too. i think it's probably just a different mix, with other parts included to make it longer like the oracle said it will be. this is the most epic song i have ever heard :dead:. and chris's vocals are amazing.

Tiny Article in Rolling Stone
hahahaha, thanks. she'd be honored :P  she's as big on them as we are about coldplay. if she knew how to use computers better, she'd probably spam up a big pearl jam forum as often as i spam up this one.

i don't know, i don't think that would really have any better effect. i don't think she's purposely ignoring us because we're not important enough--i figure if she has time to reply to ian or jen, she has time to reply to us. especially now that we've made it ABUNDANTLY clear that we're still waiting for an answer.

oooooh, what issue was this in? who was on the cover? a) i need to buy it because i usually do anyway, b) i need to tell my mom that chris mentioned pearl jam :P

ok doods, i just wrote another email and sent it off, this time through MY email just in case there's an issue with lore's (i don't think there is, but we thought it's better to be safe than sorry, eh?). if we don't hear back (i think this is out 5th email), then i don't know what to do. i still say wait, but i don't think everyone agrees with that way of doing things.

yeah, i think she's just really busy. that or there's a technical problem. and that's a very good point about the PO box set-up thing: if she's really here in america, that's probably exactly the reason. still, in her shoes i would have sent us an update, but i guess not everyone's like that. however, in all...3? 4? of the emails, we stressed that time is of the essence. i did that to the oracle like a week ago and nothing came of it, but maybe we should all try so they get lots of the same question and know we're itching for an answer from her. tell her to contact lore or something :P

^that crossed my mind too, and i think it's entirely possible. but that wouldn't explain her total silence, because she does owe us a few lines of explanation, no matter what the final verdict is. i was actually surprised she agreed to help us in the first place. i wonder if she'd have to check her helping us with anything, though. she is the fan liason, after all.
