same. even though i do feel slightly weird about them promoting things like ipods and itunes all of a sudden, a) that commercial is SO BEAUTIFUL, and b) it got the song a lot of exposure and sparked a lot of peoples interest. i think that song alone (well, and VH, too, i guess) will sell a couple thousand more albums.

yeah, i don't get why the NYT doesn't like coldplay. my favorite newspaper hates my favorite band :sad: :P still. unless U2 decides to release their album in the same week, or a new high school musical soundtrack comes out this week, then i don't see anything pushing coldplay out of number one, in america and the UK.

ohhhhh, i can't wait to pick this up. i BETTER find it somewhere on friday!! talking about gwyneth?! still not saying her name (that's a new thing; i read back in X&Y interviews the other day and he mentioned her more then), but really. i think he's a bit too extreme about not talking about her, but if he's not going to do it, he should stop doing it to certain reporters. well, i guess that's ridiculous, because you know/like some reporters better than others, but it's interesting.

yeahhhh, i still think VLV will be number 1. not that it really matters, but i dont think lil wayne can top coldplay in the first week. no way.

montauk, NY. the zoning laws there don't allow chain stores, meaning NO WHERE that sells CDs. and gas is also about $6.10 there (i'm actually not exaggerating...it takes a lot to get it all the way out there), so i have pretty much ONE chance to get the thing, so we BETTER be going on our shopping trip on/after the 17th :P i WILL, however, be out on friday, so just incase those rumors about it being released on the 12th in the US are true, i'll be stopping in target for a looky. once you have to pay for it yourself, you'll never forget the gas prices :rolleyes:

that's true, jenika, but given the price of gas these days, i tend to try to forget that i have a car and lisence just so i dont throw all my money into the gas pump :P i live in an area that oozes CDs, but where i'll be living next week...not so much. but my mom and i always do a shopping trip out to the places with real stores, so i hope we'll do this on the 18th or 19th at the latest and i can pick it up then!

because EMI has to be heavily involved in this deal, i'm thinking that there's a slight possibility that they would try to make the most of this venture by putting a few unreleased songs on there, or giving them to the BBC to use. they could use any sort of marketing ploy to make money these days, and putting a sticker on the front of a release saying "PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED COLDPLAY TRACKS" would probably make even MORE money than just an album of live songs. of course, i could be totally wrong, but they're looking to make any sort of big money these days, and what's better than releasing a couple of unheard tracks from their biggest band? i think they'd let the BBC have at least a couple.

:stunned: if this is what i think it is, meaning more than just the ONE song...this is my ultimate coldplay dream, short of being IN coldplay or something. if this means an unreleased tracks album, like with deserter and so sad and some of the other unreleased track names we know of....:dead: i cannot believe this. i think i need to put my head between my knees. :P

i preordered the vinyl on amazon, so as long as they dont ship it too early and it doesn't melt on my driveway while i'm on vacation, that's where my favorite medium of the thing is coming from :D. i would normally buy it at target, i think, if i was home (as long as they have the gatefold/digipak version...i really want that one), but i'm on vacation in an extremely remote town on the 17th when it gets released here, so i'm probably going to have to wait a day or two to drive 20 miles to the nearest FYE to pick it up. all i can say is: thank GOD it leaked, or else i'd be waking up at the crack of dawn, stealing the car, and getting the CD five towns away the second FYE opened, which i wasn't really looking forward to doing.

yesterday, my friend and i were watching shakespeare in love, and it hit me just how much joseph fiennes looks like guy berryman does now in that movie. the really short hair, the beard, the earring...and they have similar features and everything too, i think. so it was ever so slightly disorienting to see gwyneth paltrow in bed with someone who looks shockingly like guy berryman :P tell me if you see it too:

"and the fox became god" :idea2: wow, i never ever would have made that connection, but now that i had some help...i think that's one of my favorite coldplay lines EVER. bill o'reilly is probably the person i hate most on this planet, or at least one of them. oh my goodness, i think i just grew to love VH more. and this: As soon as Barack Obama becomes president, people will be a bit more optimistic. If Obama was to be president, it would immediately change the whole outside world's opinion of America overnight. America's public image at the moment is really bad. And it's a bummer, because over half of Americans are the coolest people on the planet. But they've been so misrepresented. THANK YOU, CHRIS MARTIN. i figured he supported obama, and i know gwyneth does, but YAY. for some reason it makes me extra-excited when non-americans love him. i can't wait to read the rest of this :D

i had the same problem in april and early may. really, ever since mid-march when we found those secret website screencaps, i haven't been able to do much else besides be on this board. it didn't affect my grades at all for a number of reasons, but the amount of attention i paid to my uni studies plummeted. so i know EXACTLY what you mean :D. at any rate, i poured myself into coldplay more than anything else this year because for once i actually had the time to, and because i wasn't so fond of uni at all, so i needed to find something that was completely disconnected to everything having to with it. ergo, countless hours on the board doing coldplay-related things with you lovely people :nice: at the end of the month, though, i'm moving to the netherlands and will have to go cold-turkey from coldplaying :sad:.

haha, well it's just that most people i know don't find him attractive at all. whereas i do. i was surprised that this particular friend did :D

i'm thinking 3 or 3.5 out of 5, but if i'm optimistic, 4/5 :D tee hee, i've been really looking forward to their review of VLVOD because i trust them most. RS is like my bible. but i didn't expect a cover story so soon! with X&Y, also out in early june, we had to wait till late august. YAY for my favorite band on my favorite piece of mail :dance:

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. *squee* this makes me really happy. like irrationally so. friday?! ohhh, i'm SO making a special trip to go get it, since it gets mailed out rather late and i'll be on vacation anyway. but erm...just chris? i was hoping that the "comeback" of the other three on this album musically (as well as vocally) would make jonny, will, and guy more respected etc etc. i don't know, maybe they WANT it to just be chris on there, but i feel like they get left out quite a lot :P

i like them in different ways for completely different reasons, but overall, coldplay means more to me. i feel guilty towards radiohead for saying that, but for me it's more of a qualitiative difference than a quantitative one. that said...i do love coldplay ever so slightly more.

you know, i still find this absolutely hysterical :P thwarted in my only intentional spamming effort...i think the coldplaying gods are telling me never to spam again.

my friend today called chris martin "hot," which surprised the pants off me. i only know of one other friend of mine that thinks he's gorgy. well he does vaaaaugely look like her boyfriend...anyway. i also consistently bored my friend today with maaaany coldplay references. thank goodness she's in love with "viva la vida," but really, i have to tone it down :P those were some really boring random thoughts :dozey:

i'm thinking b-side/unreleased as well... at first i thought "glass of water" because of the word glass, but jeez, chris writing in crayon makes things absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to read!

ooh ok, i just found my most recent issue, and the date on that one is june 12. today's the 10th, so we know it gets out like a full week at least before the date on the cover, meaning we should expect this sooooon, whether it's a cover story and review or just a review :D

now i'm desperately trying to find out if this is true, but with no luck. if this magazine doesn't hit newsstands before june 28, there will be HELL to pay. ooooh, but even if coldplay isn't on the cover, the new issue WILL have the VLVOD review in it! :dance: EDIT: ok, i found out that the date on that magazine will be june 26. that gives us a bit of a better idea of when it's going to be out (though i think it usually gets out a few days ahead of whats on the cover...)
