i wrote a VERY looooong opinion of the album here if anyone's interested. i warn you, it's ridiculously long :P

i think that it might hit store shelves in stores like target and FYE and record shops on the 12th if this is true, but all the preorders of physical CDs from amazon etc would probably still be shipped on the 17th like originally planned because it's too hard to change all that. that's what i would imagine, anyway. yeah, i'm a bit skeptical without official confirmation about the change-in-date, but really it wouldnt surprise me at all. it makes sense, and i'm almost positive it's been done before for other bands in the event of a leak. i'm thinking early itunes release and early to store shelves if this is true, but i'm not believing anything until i can find the news SOMEWHERE online.

will, definitely! i mean, if i had to pick, which i do for this poll :P i actually would agree with this, ari! i think, anyway. once again, if i was FORCED to choose, that's what i'd say. but i'll have to take everyone elses' word on guy :P

calendar updated :dance: oof, it gets more crowded, harder to read, and uglier every day :P sorry about the small text, but arrows and asterix would make it less clear, i think. i've been thinking in the last few times i've updated the calendar what it would be like to actually BE coldplay and have my personal calendar of things to do look like that. i think i'd tear out my hair. from the look of this calendar, they have what, SEVEN days off this month? and that's just on this calendar; imagine all the things that they do that we don't see! i don't know about anyone else, but i know i'd go crazy if i had to play the same three songs and answer the same ten questions in interviews for an entire month, and THEN embark on a huge world tour. i just find it pretty incredible.

*GASP* i'm going to do some investigating myself, but I'll be QUITE happy if this is true!! i won't be able to get it exactly on the 17th anyway, so the 12th would be PERFECT!

*sigh* i need to get that someday. even though i'm nowhere NEAR being fully versed even in just elements, i've been feeling its limitations recently. maybe i'll start scouring the auctions too ;)

i LOVE studio noises! i'll have to go back and listen very carefully for the ones you're talking about in 42, but i love the opening to strawberry swing especially, when chris says something that sounds like "it sounds very flat." for some reason, studio noises have always made me disproportionately happy from any band. it's definitely the humanness, and it makes me feel like i'm right there with them :nice:

ohhh, i hope you guys all got tickets!! coldplayers deserve them more than anyone else. i think for next year's album, we should all start lobbying NOW for a coldplayers-only concert, or like three of them so the most amount of people could come. :P (yeahhhh, because that will work :rolleyes:) seriously, though: COLDPLAY NEEDS TO START AN OFFICIAL FAN CLUB. one that you have to pay a yearly fee to join, and in return you get first ticket preferences and admittance to special things like this. my mom's in the pearl jam fanclub, and they have that thing down to a science. she's never missed a gig in our area, AND they get preference seating. urgh. i'd even be willing to move to london and be the head of the fanclub for them! :P as long as a few of you come along and work as my employees... oh, i'm crazy.

i wish i knew, but because i didn't have my computer or my itunes yesterday, i was forced to burn the album to CD and play that on loop rather than the files, which would keep track of how many times i've listened to them. boo. anyway, i'd guess in the last two days, all the way through, about 10-15 times. i'd never been a looper until VH and VLV, but now i'm an old pro. basically i had the CD in my stereo from 2PM to about 11PM yesterday, with only like two hours of time out for dinner. maybe that makes me sound like a nutter, but i'm eager to know this album well enough to really judge it without the novelty clouding what i really think :P

if it wasn't for ROL, which i'm not the hugest fan of, i'd say LIJ/ROL. but because i luuuuuurve both DAAHF and the escapist, i'm saying that :D. i still plan to separate the combined tracks in itunes, though. i don't know why, but double tracks have always bothered me.

erm, i'll have to do some serious digging, but i'm pretty sure it's pretty official.

i can't WAIT to see what rolling stone thinks of it! as flawed as that magazine is, it's my music bible. and i also kind of can't wait to see the artwork of coldplay that goes along with the review. i thought the one they had for X&Y was nice :nice:
