my mom just broke my heart. i burned her a copy of the leaked CD and put it in her car yesterday. today she came home with this really guilty look on her face. i asked her if she liked it, and she said she LOVED it to death. and then she said "i have to tell you something, and you're not going to like it." and i was like "...erm, what?" and she said, "now that i've heard this, i've decided that i have to go see coldplay on july 3 in CT." and my face went :sick: because i'm out of the country for the rest of the summer on june 28, and it's already been incredibly painful for me not to be able to go see them in CT. and then my brother piped up and said that he wanted to go too. so its a freaking family affair again, like the today show will be, but...WITHOUT ME. :bigcry: well, i guess my family won't be wasting coldplay's time in my state, assuming they can get tickets, which could be tricky, but i have my ways. it's not that i don't really WANT them to go, it's that i'm sooooo fucking jealous. :bigcry: there's my sob story for the day :P

you can do it itunes as well, but it's a bit complicated and somewhat time consuming. i plan to do it later tonight when i get my computer back :dance: for some reason, double tracks have always annoyed me.

my friend who entered the contest just texted me: I GOT MSG TICKETS!!!!!! then when i scrolled down on my phone, i realize she said "just kidding" at the bottom. if she wasn't living in england currently, i'd call her up and murder her. the happiness that i felt for those three seconds was too nice to be crushed :P

ok, so here's my story. it was exactly noon my time, and i was still in bed (i always am :P). i was thinking about getting up, though, when i heard my cell phone beep across the room because it got a text message. now, i have facebook mobile alerts pretty much precisely for me to be alerted to coldplay news, so i immediately thought "hmm. what are the odds that this text message is from facebook telling me semy wrote on my wall telling me the album leaked?" i laughed a little and said "slim." but, because the thought had entered my mind, i just HAD to check my phone. so i rolled out of bed, found my cell phone on my floor, and opened it. i saw that the text was from facebook, and i opened the message, and it was from semy. and it said "HOLY SHIT CHELSEA, IT LEAKED. THE WHOLE ALBUM." and i screamed and ran for the computer. and then i spent a significant amount of time stalking the justin timberlake forum for all the links, because for once in my life i was going to make myself be patient and wait until we got them all before listening to the album. i lasted pretty damn long too, but once we were waiting for LIT, which never actually came, i said "screw it" and listened. aaaaaaaand it was on loop for the rest of the day. fin.

yeah, he was! it was brilliant. i mean, it was mostly brilliant because it was THEM, but i still died laughing. since it doesn't seem like anyone described the skit yet, i'll do it here. hit me if someone already did this, but i didn't see it in this thread. in the JKL studio, chris, guy, and jonny walk up to the security guard desk. chris says "hello, we're coldplay, and the last time we played here in 2003, we seem to have left something behind." the little security guard lady asks "name?" and chris goes "um, COLDPLAY" (in a "duh" like voice :P). the seciroty guard lady goes through about four different random-ass nicknacks, like a statue of wrestling clowns and the guys all say no and shake their heads until chris says "no, it's not any of those things. it should be a bald guy, about this tall..." and the security guard lady says "oh. you mean this dude?" and pulls will up from underneath the desk by the lapel of his jacket and will pops up. he turns to the other three and shouts "thanks for leaving me here, you IDIOTS!" now, i was laughing so much that i don't remember the end as well, but chris somehow decides that they don't want him back and he, jonny, and guy take the statue of the wrestling clowns intstead of will and walk away, and will gets pushed under the desk again. it wouldn't really have been funny if it wasn't coldplay, i don't think, but because it was them, it was priceless. oh man, i think i woke up my dad with my laughing.

did anyone happen to record the skit as well as the performance?! the performance was pretty good, i'd say; they played VH and VLV. VH was very good, but i think VLV will never be that great live. it's just a song that sounds ten times better on record. chris's voice was fine in VH, but sqiffy in VLV, so i think it's just a hard song to sing when you're not singing it into a $5,000 microphone and you're jumping around and paying attention to other things as well. but my absolute favorite part was the skit! it was past midnight and the rest of my family was asleep, but i laughed out loud like no other. just the sight of will shouting "thanks a lot for leaving me here, you IDIOTS!!!" absolutely killed me. i hope that someone recorded it/it'll show up on youtube, because i found it hysterical.

what now is that we start calling for LP5 out in 2009 or there'll be hell to pay. :laugh4: just kidding. but the idea that we're going to go through this all over again IN LESS THAN A YEAR (well, ok between about 6 and 18 months from now, i'd say) just excites the crap out of me. of course, this is assuming chris wasn't just talking his mouth of like we know he can do. but frankly, now that they've said over three times that they're probably going to release LP5 in 2009...i can't help but count on that and be so excited by that. because this album was AMAZING, and so was all the time leading up to it spent here (well, ok, the best part was from mid-march to today...before that was just agony). i think that this album will occupy us for a year until the time where we *might* just get to do it all again :dance:. because frankly, i can't wait, for the album itself and for all the CPing madness leading up to it :nice:

it took me a long, long time to really get AROBTTH. for a while, that was my least favorite track on the album. now i like it a lot more, but it's still something like my third least favorite. until VLV, i was never in love with any of their title tracks, though i would have been if parachutes was longer :D

arrrrrgh, i almost want to stop having hope so i can be done with it. but sadly, i still harbor a few cells of "oh man, the email could just be there tomorrow" or "hmm, well there will be a second round of emails in a few days when people can't go or don't confirm their links and i'm in the area..." BLERGH. i didn't really think i'd win, but i didn't think i'd be this sad either :sad:

same with me and X&Y. i think that might be my least favorite song they've ever put on an album for me.

i did too! on first listen, actually. something tells me that "now my feet don't touch the ground" became "strawberry swing" and we might just be able to knock it off the "non-album tracks we really want to hear" list that justin made :D

i have to say that i agree. well put! :D CSC is growing on me more and more, but ROL...i'm still not feeling it, surprisingly.

acoustic for me, but that might change in the coming weeks. that one just blew me away completely, while the album version "only" gave me that familiar blooming feeling when i heard it. i think the album version just gets me a little more, puts a better little movie in my mind for now.

strawberry swing, definitely, when chris sings "it's such a, it's such a perfect day" and "the sky could be blue, could be grey...without you i'm just miles away." :dead: and LIJ "dreaming of when the morning comes." ohmygoodness.

to me, this song could have been an AROBTTH b-side. i think it's very reminiscent of songs like "one i love" or "moses" or "1.36." even though it's not one of my absolute favorites on the album, i like it more than i would just because it reminds me of AROBTTH :nice:. very nostalgic :D

thanks for that! with all the excitement today i kind of forgot about this. i didn't think the performance was bad! well, at least it was MILES better than the MTV awards. and i thought jonny mucking up the end was pretty funny. chris apparently thought so too. but why the hell weren't guy and will interviewed too? jeez. aaaaaand from a girly perspective: how the HELL did chris get more gorgy in the past three years?! the clean-shaven thing is helping loads, IMO :P

i think lovers in japan is going to be the most AMAZING song live. it seems like it was written to be played onstage, and it seems like the best song to experience as an audience member. i SO wish that jimmy kimmel was broadcasting it, because i just think this song will be so EPIC live. this seems like such an amazing album to play live, even if it is a bit complicated musically/instrumentally.

i want to see if we can get ANYWHERE with CSC. i doubt it, but it'll be fun to try. it'll take a hell of a long time, though. i'm going off in a little while, so i was going to try to hammer out more lyrics, though by the time i come back tomorrow, it'll be all worked out :P
