Should I cut my hair short?
^ugh, bad haircuts are the worst :( at least it grows back though. i have a hair dilemma as well, actually. i'm 18 years old and i'm going grey. it's been happening since about may 2007, but there have been more and more grey hairs cropping up in the past month or so, and it's really beginning to depress me. i called my mom a few weeks ago kind of upset about it, and she proceeded to tell me that my grandma went grey at age 18 as well, and she went grey in her early twenties, so it's just in my genes and i have to deal. i pluck out a few grey strands a day now. its not noticable, really, but it won't be too long before there are too many strands to pull out and i just have to suck it up and get it dyed. but what the hell?!!? i just turned 18!! :mean:

NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
so unless this is the second 2-star day ever, no news today :bigcry: i was so hopeful for a star with the Information this week. i know that there's still tomorrow, saturday and sunday (and perhaps even later today...), but i just had a feeling that we'd hear by friday, and now there's only one day left until then...bah. but i kind of really loved that video, especially simon pegg's "faultless" harmonica solo...:laugh1: chris is so cute.

Make sure you get a lot of sleep.
i definitely agree. i've been a raving insomniac for a few years now (since about 10th grade, i think) and it's just a nightmare (haha, pun unintended). the worst part is that if i'm trying to sleep and get the sense that i can't fall asleep, i start freaking out and stressing that i'll have a completely sleepless night. i think that freak-out for me is actually worse and more stressful than the sleep deprivation. and now it's just terrible that i have to SHARE a fricking room at uni...i can't do ANYTHING about it because just the presence of another person (especially one that goes to bed later than i do and leaves the :censored: lights on) bothers me. i plan to go to the doctor next week to get a note saying that i HAVE to have a single bedroom next year because this is making me miserable. i've actually never let my sleep deprivation get in the way of my schoolwork, somehow, but it makes me so unhappy and angry i just can't stand it.

How will you listen to LP4?
^i couldnt listen to an album for the first time on shuffle. the first time i listen to an album straight through cements the song order as it is in my brain, so however it came up on random on my ipod would be the order the songs i would expect the songs to be in from then on! personally, i think bands put a LOT of effort into tracklisting, so i might as well listen to it that way at least for the first few times.

Pictures, webcams, mugshots etc etc etc
^ thanks, semy! and those cups are PRICELESS...there's like 7 different noses to choose from in the box, and for this reason they're called the "PICK YOUR NOSE" cups. yes, we are quite mad in CT...
-
Pictures, webcams, mugshots etc etc etc
:laugh4:, semy. i pretty much never have a straight face for the camera... this is me drinking out of a cup with a nose painted on the side so it looks ridiculous. i got a whole stack of the cups for my birthday, and you really shouldn't drink soda out of them because you laugh so hard using these cups that whatever you're drinking comes out of your nose. and one nicer one, for posterity's sake: too bad it's out of focus.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
^yeah, i can't really sing too much here, living in a dorm and all. but last weekend when i went home, i was singing at the top of my lungs when i was driving because i missed singing so much! it felt so good to sing along to "the scientist"...

NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
extras was filmed back in 2006, way before the album was even near completion, so i really doubt the 17th has anything to do with the LP4 release date. besides, march 17th is too soon when they haven't told us anything, and april and may 17th are not mondays/tuesdays, which are the days that albums are almost always released on in the UK and the US, respectively. i still think we'll be getting it around may 19th personally :D

Am I the only one who refreshes Coldplay.com every five minutes...
succumbed and downloaded the coldplaying toolbar :D i quite like it; i'll just hide it when a friend's borrowing my computer or i'm in public or something. it's pretty great, ian. it's not that i'm a closet CP fan, because i'm not ashamed in the least that i like them. it's just that the people i know don't understand my love and obsession over them, so i feel like it's pointless to explain it. and i'd be considered a loser if most people knew JUST how obsessed i was...i'd rather be considered a huge fan than a rabid maniac. so i have posters on my walls and wear the t-shirts and listen to the music all the time, but idon't go on and on about them to people that don't care, and i don't make the fact that i'm a complusive and active member of an online coldplay forum too public, either :D

waxing hurts!
waxing is better for certain areas, IMO, like the face. i only shave my legs, though. i think waxing your legs hurts more than other areas because the hair follicles are rooted much deeper. so i say wax the face and shave the legs! if i didn't wax, i'd probably look like :sombrero: or :biker: or :artist:!

Would you rather meet a celebrity or somebody off of Coldplaying?
^i'm planning on going to go to BOTH, actually. i have connections that could get me pretty amazing seats at MSG, but i still plan to go in CT!

College in the UK
i was just wondering if people had heard good things about UEA. it was kind of a pointless question, i guess :D but i was also just wondering about the city itself, if anyone had been there. i loved lots of the smaller cities in england when i was there, like york, and was wondering if norwich was anything like it. ugh, i guess i don't know how to phrase my question...
-
College in the UK
i have a question similar to masterkraig's for all you british folk out there. my current uni has a program at the university of east anglia in norwich, and the program there that corresponds to my major (film and television studies) looks incredible. i've always planned to go to london, but norwich is sounding more appealing to me because of the program, and i've never been one for long periods of time in huge cities. does anyone know anything about UEA and/or norwich itself?

What is Coldplayers favourite Debut Album? - 2nd March -> 20th March
parachutes - coldplay pablo honey - radiohead hot fuss - the killers is this it - the strokes yours to keep - albert hammond jr. get born - jet everything in transit - jack's mannequin how to save a life - the fray (don't hit me!!) oh, inverted world - the shins (i'm pretty sure this is debut) aha shake heartbreak - kings of leon hopes and fears - keane those are the ones that I think are pretty great for debuts, anyway.

N. American Coldplayers, could you help me?
ahh, i'm from ridgefield...about an hour-ish from new haven!

How many computer's are in your house?
my dad has a work one, there's a family one that used to be mine and was passed to my brother (until it DIED this weekend...), my brother was given an old mac, and my mom's getting one soon. and then there's mine, of course, but that's at uni with me... so i guess that's 5? wow. but we actually have more TVs...7!

How will you listen to LP4?
is the vinyl going to be released on the same day as the CD and digital forms? if it is and if i can find it in my local record store, i'm TOTALLY buying it ASAP! but i always thought that took a little longer to be released. however, there's something just more romantic and real about vinyl records, i think, and i wish that could be the way i first listen to LP4 without wasting any time waiting for it...

Am I the only one who refreshes Coldplay.com every five minutes...
is it superficial that i'm just about equally pumped for the album art and music videos as i am for the music itself? well, i suppose not, considering i'm majoring in film, so i have a bit of a connection with the music video part of it... my brother is a closet coldplay-lover. he doesn't even like to admit it to me, but his big secret is that he actually likes them. i'm kind of hoping this album completely wins him over. and the reason i don't want to have it released while i'm here is that i'd be sitting on my bed absoultely absorbed in the music and my roommate would be like "um, it's just an album...." i'd actually probably escape to the east asian room in the library to listen to it, but it's still too public for my liking...

Plans for the summer...
i would like them to play CT (hartford is fine), NYC (madison square garden!) and philly so i'm SURE to see them in one of those places. they've played all those places in the past, so i suppose there's nothing to really worry about. but if they're not going to come 'round here till late august, then i'd LOVE them to play harrisburg PA (very close to where i go to uni) simply for ease of travel. but if we're talking having them play ANYWHERE...well then i'd like them to play my uni and my backyard :D

Am I the only one who refreshes Coldplay.com every five minutes...
^it does kind of suck, yeah. i mean, they all know i'm a huge fan, but i don't think they know the half of it...:P i'm just happy that if the mid-may release predictions are true, i'll already be home by then and can sufficiently celebrate the release then. and also have enough time to enjoy the album without having to balance new-album-time with schoolwork! but i'm still crossing my fingers for a single room next year, even if i won't really need to hide my coldplay-squeeing anymore, seeing as the album BETTER be out by september...

Rolling Stone Article... Chinese Sleep Chant... Life In Technicolor... Reign Of Love
*sigh* an album sounding kind of like blue room would make my LIFE! but i don't think that fits in with the whole "new direction" tagline, unfortunately. but i think my favorite coldplay stuff is the soft, early acoustic, like "see you soon" and "careful where you stand" etc. a return to that sort of thing is fine by me! though i know lots of other people would be disappointed and would rag on them for being the same.
