  1. ^whoa!! haven't seen you in a while! :D (must. stop. posting. in this thread.)
  2. i almost cried too. but i clicked the link and saw what it contained and went "ohmygod!" and started flapping my arms around like i do when i'm excited. i started dancing in place on my bed. my roommate looked at me like i was insane. even now i'm still getting these little excitement tremors that i can't keep in. i really wish i was home so i could jump around screaming like i'm dying to. now i'm going to stalk the official site even MORE in hopes of a song post!
  3. every time i look at the article i catch something new that makes me want to wet myself: ""Violet Hill": One of the strongest of the new songs, the band is considering giving it away as a special promotion in coming weeks and then leaving it off the album." do you think theres a chance of them posting this on the site in the next week or so?!?!?!?!?!?!?! *dies* (sorry, ian, i can't clean up my explosion until i'm completely finished exploding, and i don't think that will be for a while...)
  4. I'M jUST ABOUT DYING HERRRRRRE if i wasn't at college right now, i would be BLASTING "in my place" and dancing around my room in excitement. but my roommate already looked at me funny when i squealed, so i think that would be pushing my already outcastish status to the extreme.
  5. i don't think it's a hoax at all; RS is a very reputible source. THERE ARE NEW SONG TITLES THERE THAT WE HAVEN'T COME ACROSS BEFORE. "reign of love" "chinese sleep chant" "life in technicolor" "death and all his friends" in some ways this makes me nervous, because we'll probably never hear at least a couple of the song titles we've heard about in the past year but OMG...i don't know if i've been this pumped yet, and that's really saying something. LYRICS?! "Those who are dead are not dead/They're just living in my head." i LOVE this line. and chris's vocals in "yes" are "Sounding more aggressive and strong than ever"!!! if he beats out his vocal performance in shiver, i may just have to die and go straight to heaven. *MAJOR SQUEE*
  6. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!   THANK YOU FOR THIS ARTICLE. i can't even express how happy this makes me. :daisy: "The lyrics are darker, dealing with recurring themes of death and loneliness. And on several songs, Martin extends his vocal palette considerably beyond the falsetto that has largely defined him, exhibiting a lower, sexier mode that feels more personal and real." This is like, exactly what i've been hoping for. Specifically the low voice part. *prints*
  7. i think the only ones that will deffi always be played for tours in years to come (ie, not just the next one) are yellow and clocks. after that, i don't know if there's anything we can say is a given, really. but fix you, IMP, the scientist, and square one are likelies at least for the next tour. but i second what justin said: shiver should be played at every show!!!!
  8. dude! that's awesome! i've had to write some TI-83 programs myself, but nothing nearly that cool.
  9. omg, yes, i second anna's question: what part of CT do you live in?!?!? what school do you/did you go to?!?!?! i'm from CT! i'm at uni in PA right now, and i miss CT terribly.
  10. i'm procrastinating currently and found this interview gwyneth did with jon stewart back in 2005. it just cracks me up because jon acts like a complete idiot around her. and she talks a bit about chris :D i remember watching it when it aired and thinking it was hilarious. http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=124716&title=gwyneth-paltrow&tag=generic_tag_gwyneth_paltrow&itemId=110860
  11. ^hahaha, well of course nothing against semy or anyone else, becausei don't mean it in a bad way at all and i truly have yet to see someone that is not handsome or beautiful, but we're all so nice here! :D it's actually a really nice confidence booster, because the one thing i'm insecure about is the way i look most of the time, and i've never gotten so many compliments as i have here :). i love us
  12. ^ dave, what's with all the username changing these days?! :laugh4:
  13. aww, thanks, semy...you're quite handsome as well
  14. ^i completely agree. while at first i was a bit miffed that we were only getting ~9 songs after all this waiting, i just dont think we can make any judgement without knowing anything more than just the titles of the songs. it's all about quality and how well they work together. besides, i think the average rock album is about that long these days, no? at least most of the ones that i listen to. some seem longer because they have a greater number of shorter songs, but really most i own are about that long.
  15. i got into radiohead through this board. i'd always been vaguely aware of them and thought the bandname was cool, but from OK computer which my friend burned me (saying that it was really, really weird and that she wasn't a huge fan) i wasn't really into anything besides "airbag." then one day i bought pablo honey and the bends at a used CD sale and loved them, but i knew OKC was a bit too far-out for me, as was everything else after it. i gave OKC and beyond two more tries because of the radiohead enthusiasm on coldplaying, but still didn't get it. then i got in rainbows and was BLOWN AWAY. somehow, after hearing IR, everything else that they've ever done clicked into place and made perfect sense. it was like when someone finally explains some scientific concept to you in school in a way you understand and you feel like a moron for not getting it before. though i'm still not enthusiastic about HTTT (besides there there) or amnesiac. i like them, but i'm just not blown away by them, at least not in the same way as all the other albums.
  16. no no no! i'm not embarrassed at all by you guys! i'm embarrassed by the fact that i'm so obsessed with a band that i belong to an online forum about it. it's got nothing to do with the people here whatsoever and everything to do with me keeping my coldplay obsession secret, because no one else i know gets it or can understand it. it's just not worth explaning to them. on a different note, as much as i want to meet everybody, i wouldn't pass up an opportunity to meet coldplay...:P
  17. OMG, this is one of my top 5 favorite beatles songs ever!!!! it gets me every time. and its my firm opinion that lots of their lesser-known stuff is their best. on a similar note, yesterday i saw a commercial for a bank that used a cover of the beatles "anytime at all" in it. it was a totally kick-ass cover IMO, but it made me a bit sad because people might hear that version and love it (because it sounded 2008 radio-ready, it really did) but theyd never know where it truly came from. "ATA" is another one of my all-time favorite beatles songs :D
  18. i feel like i'm the same off and on the board. i find that pretty interesting, because the idea of an online alter-ego used to fascinate me. i still have half a mind to try it out, but i guess i'm on here so freaking much that it would be way too much effort to keep up a different persona. the only difference between me on here and in real life is that i never say all the things i do about coldplay in real life--i would be mocked and shunned. and that's precisely why i love this place, or the number 1 reason why i love this place: i get to show exactly how much of a nerd i am because everyone else is the same way
  19. yeah, well in the event that we're all deffi going to be at the same concert, i think cell number exchanges are in order. because i'd be really sad if i was at the same concert as one of you guys that i talk to all the time and we never met up at least to say hi. if i end up going with my friends to radiohead, i may have to give them the slip to come meet you guys because it would require way too much awkward explanations to bring them with me...no one knows i'm on a forum dedicated to a band. that would be seen as really uncool :laugh4: i'd kind of like to keep it a secret, if at all possible :D
  20. hahaha, well i deleted the second "science"... i dont think the professor will ever catch the reference though. which is what makes it even better...
  21. hahaha, this thread and both your pics make me laugh :laugh4: i dont come across very many stawberries, so i suppose i can't compete :( ps, i love the cp-ing advertising in the pics a la chris martin :D
  22. um, BIG yes for an NYC radiohead/coldplay concert meet-up!! i know i'm older than you guys (anna, justin) and your parents might have a problem with meeting someone you know only from the internet, but i promise i'm exactly who i say i am :D not that that makes any difference, but we could make it safe or whatever. a concert is pretty public, so its not like i could abduct you guys that easily with all those people and security guards watching :P as briggs said, i'm too old for my parents to a) care b) control me. and i don't know if i'd even TELL them i'd be meeting someone i only knew online. i have more sense than that. my dad would probably go crazy with worry. annie and i are hoping to meet sometime this summer, actually, because she has family in the same town that i have family in! i'm ridiculously excited, actually, so i suppose that means i'd rather meet a coldplayer because it IS more lasting and personal and everything. not that i'd object to meeting chris or anything...*drools*
  23. i think you look a bit like julian casablancas of the strokes, actually... nice to finally see you, semy ;)
  24. 272 come up when i search "coldplay" in my itunes. if i was more a fan of live versions, i think i'd have way more, but mostly that's comprised of the albums, all the singles, rareities, a good hunk of live material, one or two mixes and remixes, and about 20 backwards songs.
  25. i'm bored, so i might as well post some pics :p senior prom; i'm in the crazy purple dress. this is the only vaguely acceptable pic of me from that night: the rest are horrid. me and my two best (girl) friends a few days before graduation. i've got the glasses. at my friend's birthday party. ever see the MTV show "my super sweet sixteen"? yeah. it was like that. yuck. junior prom. one of the best nights ever. oooook, that's enough...
