i think once its ready and live, they;ll just put up the link in a new star without saying anything else. which is FINE by me, as long as there's a release date in there somewhere! argh, i can't do .rar files!!!! on my old comp i had a .rar decompressor, but i can't find the free download! can someone either tell me where to get a free decompressor or post the screenshots as JPEGs here? because i can't see anything but the first "image" box on the site...

i COMPLETELY agree. i really feel like i understand what they're talking about, even when the lyrics are a bit more oblique or metaphorical. and i feel like they really understand ME, know exactly the sorts of things i've gone through and think about. my favorites change all the time, but my top three would have to include see you soon, shiver, and the scientist, i think.

i don't think i've made dumb purchases in a while, really, but like i say, usually it's clothes or purses or shoes (i have too many of all of those things), or on occasion, CDs that i like only one song off of. but the amazing purchases that i didn't expect to be amazing balance those things out i guess. like buying hot fuzz on DVD when i'd never seen it before (that can turn out badly, buying a DVD you've never seen) or my second ipod (which is now pretty much my only ipod) or whatever :D.

it was SOOOOO freakish to watch that movie and see my town (well, ok, my summer hometown) as the SET! the weirdest bit for me is near the beginning when he's sitting in the diner (which i've eaten in THOUSANDS of times!) and you can see the main town plaza behind him, like the store called whites that everyone goes to! wait, was he listening to coldplay or something while on set? i'd never heard that if that's what you mean... ditto; it's definitely time. i can't think of a single band that i know of that's come about in the last 10 years that's been considered "classic rock."

i'll just be at uni...:bigcry: it's just that easter is a HUGE deal in my family (or at least it used to be) with close to a hundred people and all sorts of food etc. now even with me there, easter would be very very small (15 or so is small for us) and i guess it would just make me a bit sad remembering how it used to be anyway. but easter is always one of my favorite holidays, and i'll be sad to just be here doing nothing special but freaking schoolwork.

i would DEFINITELY download it, and i plan to if it's leaked because i will still buy it anyway because i support coldplay and what they do. in that way, i don't feel guilty about downloading it illegally. but OMG, if it was out there somewhere on the web, there's no WAY i could resist. NO WAY.

^we're now thinking (based on an HMV rumor) that it will actually be out in mid-june rather than mid-may, which is making me quite sad. but coldplay themselves just really need to tell us what's going on! basically, wikicoldplay is the best place to start, as is this expose article from rolling stone, which made us all jump up and dance when we read it two weeks ago.

you're making a hell of a lot of sense. sorry to blab all that to you! i'm just weird and am having a hard time fathoming switching schools because i do technically like everything about my current college besides the fact that they don't have film, and i'd run into the same issues of academic requirements at almost every american college...that's just how higher education works here, unfortunately. you brits REALLY have it right, i think. i contemplated applying to british unis straight out, but the UK is a bit too far away for my first time living away from home, i think. but i'll be studying (film!!) there in a year and a half if everything goes to plan! and i plan to live in england later on in my life for a decently long time, so i suppose i just have to be patient.

tee hee, i always get the threads mixed up as well (besides, isn't it like 4 AM where you are?!). and don't worry, i don't think i made it very obvious i was talking about NY considering long island is hardly an island. montauk (town i live in for part of the summer) is just so isolated that it really seems like its own little island! i'm probably going to be frequenting the town library quite often that week! i'm going to find the nearest place with wifi the second i get there so i'm prepared. hopefully the complex we have an apartment in has put in either ethernet or wifi by now. and you're great to talk to as well!! i like our little convos very much. though we probably should create a "chelsea and semy chat about random things" thread so we stop hijacking other threads :P :rolleyes:

^i very much agree about the second half of politik, when it becomes more "intense" towards the end, so to speak. i think it's a BRILLIANT song, i just happen to like all the others more. and my current school doesn't really have film. that's what i'm having a hard time with, because over the past 9 months i've 100% let myself decide that i'm going to pursue film despite the risks and impracticality, and my current uni isn't the place for that at all. i can major in american studies with a focus in mass media, which is ok, but it's not film. i can also create a major, but it's got to be approved, and if i'm really looking to get a good education in film, this isn't exactly the place for it. i'm pretty sure i'm just going to stick it out and create a film and television studies major and then go to grad school for a more practical education in film, but i'm just getting bogged down with all the other stuff (because in most american colleges, you don't officially decide what you're going to study until the end of your second out of four years there) and most of the required courses i have to take i took in high school because i went to a pretty academically intense high school, but they're just not going to drop the requirements because one student says they took comparable things in high school. i'm tired of wasting my time with courses like russian history and sciences! *whew* ok, sorry. i think i need to learn to explain myself in more private and less annoying venues! :rolleyes:

it was totally stupid to call it an island, seeing as it's not technically an island: it's long island, new york! but we go to the very very tip of it, which is very secluded and uncommercial. so i should have said i hope to find wifi in TOWN rather than having to drive 20 miles to civilization. ok, new thought: there BETTER be internet access in our apartment, because if there isn't of course i won't be able to download LP4, which is the priority, but I ALSO WON'T BE ABLE TO COME ON HERE AND TALK ABOUT IT WITH YOU GUYS. which will break my heart big-time. ohhhh no. i'm going to need to place a call to the complex ASAP. wow, i can't believe people are actually clicking the link to the blog and actually reading it! tee hee, well, i suppose that's good! thanks!!! AROBTTH did the same exact thing for me last thursday, which was just a dark, dark day. all i could think about was transferring colleges and how much i hated all the work i was being forced to do and i had several mini freak-outs during the day about how i'm getting nowhere in the film field when i could be if i was at the right school...and i put on AROBTTH and felt SO much better. that's the only reason i slept that night at all. it's strange, but i start feeling a little better even by the middle of politik, which is coincidentally my least favorite song on the album. it's just crazy what kind of magic that album works on me exactly when i need it most. AROBTTH, the tour diary of the live 2003 DVD, and hot fuzz are the best remedies for a bad day IMO.

i actually learned it's about 21 miles, which is much better! my mom balked at burning all that gas for a damn CD, but hell, i'll pay for it for coldplay! (and if it was pearl jam releasing an album while we were on vacation, she'd SO do the same thing!) i think i'm a bit mentally sick if i'm making a point to travel 20 miles to a store and 20 miles back at 9AM in the morning, but hey, this is important to me! still hoping to find wifi somewhere on the island though! :blush: aww, thanks about the blog! i just posted the link here for the hell of it and i don't find it exactly up to snuff, but i'm glad someone's enjoying it!
