NOT COOL. :laugh4: and i'm DEFINITELY the same way, though i don't have the CP-ing toolbar (would be made fun of at uni...i hate that i'm so embarrassed by my obsessive love of coldplay) and for some reason i check coldplaying twice as often as i check the official site, even though i also harbor a bit of a desire to be the first one to find THE post. though i don't really care about that at all compared to how much i care about the Information! i really must check the official site more often, though. when i check for Information between classes, i always come straight here! when i see the NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM thread in bold, my heart flips, but then i realize that if it was THE post, there would be several other new threads accompanying it.

congrats, anna! i thought it was a pretty big deal when i hit 1000 because i'd been on here for nearly 2 years and still felt like a noob because of my low post count. now i don't feel like a noob anymore! but i'll still be happy every time i hit another 1000.

^good question. i would think you'd eventually realize that you're not gaining any friends. but i suppose you might as well continue on with it, since no one here values it or believes it anyway.

i listened to X&Y in the car on the way home from getting it, but this year i plan on downloading it the second it becomes available on itunes (hopefully this is at midnight on the day of release!), and i guess then i'll immediately put it on my ipod and listen to it straight through in my bed (at home!!) in the dark. ohmygod, i can't wait for this.

oh, please. chris is riding a bike to be enviromentally friendly and is wearing a hood either because its cold or he doesnt want to be recognized. and gwyneth is drinking something! i fail to see how either of these pictures has ANYTHING to do with their marriage--some people just don't wear their wedding rings every day for whatever reason even though they're still very much married. and to me, one of chris's fingers looks more like it was jammed in a door or something, so perhaps its not nail polish at all. my hand looked like that when i jammed it in a door. and if thats the case, then theres a good reason for not wearing a wedding ring!

heh, well i'm kind of a neat-freak :rolleyes:...my dorm room at uni is quite clean, especially compared to my room at home. my room at home is clean, i suppose, but i havent really redecorated it since i was 13 or so besides just sticking new stuff on the walls in addition to everything that was already there, so the walls are kind of an explosion and no white space is showing. this summer, after having a tidy poster collection at uni, i plan to completely redecorate :P this is my half of the room at uni, though there are a few more posters on the wall now...one of john lennon, a shaun of the dead one, a hot fuzz one, and more barack obama posters :D and my desk sans my computer (i like using it on the bed better)

^never mind about meeting up in NYC to see radiohead...i just went on DAS and saw that theyre only doing the FESTIVAL in NYC...grrrrr :angry:. so i guess i'm going to have to go to boston, which means MORE money...and no chance of seeing you guys!

haha, i just realized TODAY that once CP announce the dates, i'm almost definitely going to see them in CT rather than NYC, since they've come to CT on every tour so far. so i guess that nixes an NYC meet-up for seeing CP (unless i can afford to go to BOTH concerts, which is a definite poss :D), but i'm probably going to see radiohead in NYC, so we can see each other then!! i just felt like a big idiot for forgetting that they always come to CT :rolleyes:

^agreed. i was thinking about this today a lot, actually. i'm excited for the new direction, but i hope its still "coldplay." so far it doesn't really sound like it'll be unrecognizable, which is good. but there's always that worry...

yeah, these guys do NOT look like the radiohead type. precisely why i found it so freaking hilarious. as they were passing my door, i thought i heard one of them say "kid A" but i wasn't completely sure. but once he started singing, i knew :D haha, thats a bit of an odd phrase for an inside joke, but cool!

hah, that's true! i always wondered how he could jump around the stage so well like he does wearing such heavy boots. i wonder if there will be a change in footwear for this album (converse chuck taylors, anyone? :D), or a change in wardrobe (PLEASE ditch the all black!) or even hand-bling (which i kind of hope does NOT incorporate nail polish...:laugh4:)

yeahhh, i don't think we're ever going to get a studio version of that song. i'm just grateful that we have SOME version of that song--think of the hundreds of AMAZING songs of theirs that we'll never ever get to hear! that thought makes me sad...

i was just becoming a fan when X&Y came out. the "speed of sound" video got me into them, so i was really excited to hear what else they were going to do, but i hadn't even heard parachutes (besides "yellow") at that point! i just knew "speed of sound" and minimally AROBTTH (because i'd only listened to it for the first time like a few weeks before). i was BURSTING the day it came out because i was taking a bio exam and just wanted to go to the mall and buy the damn CD, but that's NOTHING compared to my anticipation for this album. i called myself a coldplay fan then, but i had only just begun my coldplay education :D

i love it when celebrities are vocal about their causes :D :heart: in other news, i was sitting at my desk in my room when two big, jocky basketball players that live on my floor were passing my door in the hall. they were talking, and one of them was saying "i'm gonna play me some kid A tonight" and then started singing "everything in its right place." :laugh4: i just cracked up, but my roommate rolled her eyes at me.

^the photo isn't reversed; the writing on the cars number plates are all forward. but good eye on the wedding ring on his right hand! i would never have seen it, but if you look close enough it seems that he is wearing a ring on that hand. it looks cold in that pic...why isnt he wearing gloves?!

may actually doesn't seem that far away to me! i can TOTALLY wait for may now that we pretty much deffi know that it's coming out sometime that month. i personally think it's going to be more mid-may, though...

every time i think about this, i get these little excitement tremors. it was happening all last night and now into today!! i wonder if i've ever been this excited for something before...the only other thing(s) that come close are waiting for the harry potter books to come out. i'm actually kind of glad theyre saying it will be out in may, because i'll be out of school by then and will have all the time in the world to anticipate and then enjoy the album in the first few weeks. if i was still at uni at the time it was going to come out, i wouldnt be able to get much time to really listen to the thing, and i certainly wouldnt be able to freak out about it properly in such a public place :D. i can't wait to be in the privacy of my own home to listen to it!

erm, i'm having a hard time deciding between 42 and yes...42 sounds great overall, especially with that lyric (i LOVE it), but yes talks about stronger vocals than ever before, and one of my hopes for this album was that chris would get to the vocal level and strength and energy of shiver again (because i count that as his best vocal work to date)... ah, screw it, i'm going for 42.

haha, oh, the painted nails. i bet there's a pretty good explanation for it, like that apple did it or whatever. or it could be permanent marker and chris got bored while working out the tracklisting and scribbled on his nails. as long as he doesn't make nail polish an addition to his notorious "hand bling," i dont really mind :D
