Gwyneth...
I always kind of giggle at the "for men" sections of her holiday gift guides because I don't think Chris would be caught dead wearing a £40 eye mask, or carrying a $200 iPad case, even if he is technically a "travelling businessman". I wonder what Gwyneth gets him for Christmas...maybe the one new t-shirt we see him in every year :P

Sigur Rós
Oh dear GOD :bigcry: I can't WAIT, and I need to finally see them live as a band. I saw Jónsi and that was wonderful, but I need to see all of them in concert.

How Many Times Have You Listened To 'Viva La Vida'
Viva is the most-played song in my iTunes at 385 since release. I don't really know how that happened--I loved it when it came out (and I still do, but I think it's been a bit overplayed by the rest of the world and I tend to play the more obscure Coldplay songs more than the singles anyway), but MOST PLAYED SONG EVER, at least in iTunes? I'm still surprised by that.

For SiriusXM Subscribers - Win a "Town Hall" meeting with Coldplay
AWW CHRISTA, SO HAPPY FOR YOU :wacky:   I would have loved to be there as well, but my CP Karma quota is filled for some time. It sounds like an awesome, really unique experience, and it sounds like they selected the people well too, that everyone was on their best behavior and no one was a crazed person that only wanted the autograph and photo to show their friends. Glad it was such a good experience for you :nice:.

Usually I'd cut myself some slack with a leak like this, because I've already ordered the album to be delivered to me, but I think I'm going to wait for once :D. That is, unless my CD+DVD takes RIDICULOUSLY long to ship to America from the UK...in that case I'll buckle :P

In waltzes in Angie to put us all to shame  Very curious to see yours, though :wideeyed:

The Strokes
True, I remember realizing after that there weren't any FIOE songs besides YOLO and Juicebox, which was sad because FIOE is my favorite album after Is This It, but I think just the mood and vibe from the band as well as the actual sound of the performance was the best they did this year :wacky:. I think the other one that impressed me the most was Reading. Speaking of FIOE songs, when I saw them in Maryland this year, they didn't do a SINGLE FIOE song, which was sad to me, but it was also the best out of the times I've seen them so it wasn't that sad :P

What Coldplay Songs Have You Seen/Heard Live?
YES! It's like Pavlov's Dog or something with that song :disappointed:  On my original post I didn't list the times I've seen Coldplay, and I kind of hesitate because I've just been supremely lucky with this stuff in comparison to a lot of people, but these are the gigs and appearances that my list is made up of: August 4, 2005: Hartford, CT April 4, 2006: Uncasville, CT June 27, 2008: Rockefeller Center, NYC (Today Show) October 26, 2008: East Rutherford, NJ November 1, 2008: Philadelphia, PA May 23, 2009: Hartford, CT July 31, 2009: Toronto, CN September 19, 2009: London, UK November 25, 2010: London, UK (Christmas Lights shoot) December 8, 2010: London, UK (BBC Top of the Pops taping) December 19, 2010: Liverpool, UK (Crisis gig) July 10, 2011: Naas, Ireland (Oxegen Festival) October 21, 2011: Rockefeller Center, NYC (Today Show) October 27, 2011: Norwich, UK

What Coldplay Songs Have You Seen/Heard Live?
I searched and searched for a thread like this and I couldn't find one (and if it exists it's probably really old), so I thought I'd create one...and I was undecided on whether it should go in the Live Section or here, so I just stuck it here :uhoh: But today I went through the setlists of all the shows I've been to and made a list of how many times I've heard each song. I thought it might be cool to see what songs other people have been present at shows to hear, and what songs are the "most played." Setlist.fm is a great resource for this--just type in "Coldplay [city you saw them in]" and the setlist should be there! So this is mine...it's a bit embarrassing :P Anyone else want to have a go? It's a bit labor intensive, but I found it interesting! :D

What is the most underrated Coldplay song to date?
I cringed when I saw someone put that down a few pages ago and seemingly meant it seriously

What is the most underrated Coldplay song to date?
 OK, this definitely wins :P But really, I started to get back to listening to my "Old Skool Coldplay" and my Coldplay B-sides playlists, and I was re-struck with how brilliant a lot of their harder-to-find work is. I feel like they'd have a better reputation, at least slightly, if people knew their earlier and less-popular work existed. I feel like so many people that spit vitriol about them have only heard like, Fix You and Viva La Vida and the overplayed singles.

Tour to have a 360 degree stage?
I don't think they'd put this much planning and effort and money into it (because it must take a lot) if they were only just going to "try it out." I think if the rumors are true, and unless it just turns out to be a massive, massive failure in some way, it's probably going to be in place for all the arena and stadium shows they're going to do on this tour :blank:

COLDPLAYING WEMBLEY T-SHIRTS! ... BUTTERFLY DESIGN (SEMY) BACK ON SALE!
Thanks for the thread! I love this stuff, hopefully once I get a job (...soon?) I can order something :nice:

The Strokes
I thought Planeta Terra was fabulous, but I think their best this year was definitely Bonnaroo, at least from the livestreams and the ones I was at :P

Tour to have a 360 degree stage?
Hmm. I'm not sure how I feel about that either, but it will mean more people can get into shows. But I'm just old-fashioned, I like having the band face one way the whole night and not have to entertain things on all sides of them. Sigh.

What is the most underrated Coldplay song to date?
See You Soon and Life in Technicolor ii are two of my top three Coldplay songs ever :dazzled:

What is the most underrated Coldplay song to date?
I tend to feel like in my opinion, most of their b-sides/unreleased/very early songs are underrated, and are usually some of my favorites. Such as: See You Soon Only Superstition Ladder To The Sun Don Quixote/Spanish Rain Solid Ground The Goldrush Careful Where You Stand I also tend to just think all of the songs on Prospekt's March are underrated, as well as some album tracks no one ever seems to talk about, like Daylight Chinese Sleep Chant Spies Swallowed In The Sea

The Snow Patrol Thread
I have a portable DVD player that's region unlocked so it wouldn't be the end of the world, but thanks :nice:. I've actually never gotten VLC player to successfully play a different-region DVD, though, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Now I just hope Amazon ships it in good time to my house!

The Snow Patrol Thread
To circumvent the whole January-US-release thing, I've ordered the album off Amazon.co.uk because I just can't wait til January. I got the DVD edition because I was at the RAH for the reworked tour :wacky:. I just hope the DVD is region 0 as the Up To Now and A Hundred Million Suns DVDs were... I'm really trying not to listen to any of the new stuff any more until I get it, though. I've heard the singles and the EP a few times, but for once in my life, I'm resisting the rest! It seems like a lot of people are digging it, though, so I'm excited :nice:

COLDPLAYING WEMBLEY T-SHIRTS! ... BUTTERFLY DESIGN (SEMY) BACK ON SALE!
AWW, the new stuff is so great! :cheesy: Who designed it? I haven't been paying attention. I'm actually wearing my Semy-designed shirt today :wacky:. Oh, the memories of that time...

The Strokes
Aww, I'm glad you had a good time :nice: I couldn't see the Buenos Aires show because the stream didn't work for me, but I watched the stream from Brazil the next night and thought they were as good as ever. It's such a shame that that's the end of the tour for this album, I think they've finally hit something of a stride. I just hope they're serious about getting back and working on the 5th album as soon as possible, because I don't think the fandom can take another huge hiatus.

Radiohead
She'd never come back to us if we did that  I really, really can't wait for an East Coast tour announcement, since I'm still a bit bitter about missing the Roseland shows this year. Now I just hope that whenever the announcement and dates are, ticket scalpers don't go as mad as they did then and I can at least get ONE. The only other time I saw them, I was a mile away and behind a support pole, and it was STILL the best show I've ever been to, or one of them, so I don't care if I'm all the way at the back, I just neeeeeed to see them again :bigcry: Good luck to everyone trying to get tickets to these dates so far!

What are you reading right now?
Reading the Steve Jobs biography, about halfway through. Also reading Look At Me by Jennifer Egan at the same time, also about halfway through. Something I found out reading the Steve Jobs biography: Jobs used to DATE Jennifer Egan pretty seriously :freak:

An EP to follow MX?
Thanks Tash :nice: I was leaning towards thinking it was between AROBTTH and X&Y but looks like I was wrong! I'm kind of surprised it's as old as Parachutes, really.
