U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
OMG, media and people . that was SO sarcastic! he meant it in a nice, jokey way! :laugh4: everyone needs to listen to the interview in context and cool their jets. i find it strange that radio hosts invite celebrities to apologize for something, however

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
oh dude! sorry, i didn't see this before. yes, now i'm 200% convinced bono meant it in an endearing way. you don't generally go out and call someone a w***** that you hang out with, make music with, invite to your christmas party, sing bits of their songs in concert, and thank in your liner notes. i'm not concerned :P

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
haha, good point :P. in all honesty, though, i'm completely convinced bono meant it in a quasi-endearing way.

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
i'm pretty much 100% convinced bono was joking. i mean, really, last week he was going on about how much he admires chris's songwriting, and he's worked with chris several times before, all in good spirits...i bet he was just using slightly stronger language in a slip to call chris a cheeky little whippersnapper that was catching up to U2's success or something :P. i don't think he could have meant offense by it, since they always seemed to get on and equally admire each other. if he did mean it, though, and chris has heard about this, i bet he's curled up in a ball of tears backstage in australia right now . i would imagine being called something like that by your idol isn't so nice :P

Gwyneth...
i love that bag too :nice:. i love bags in general, and what people carry in them. i think i'd love to go through gwyneth's bag  i bet she has a few spare diapers and snacks in there :P. that's definitely what my bags looked like when i was caring for small children!

we only had a NINTH of a page in my senior yearbook to write stuff . and it's not like they had to do that to fit a big class in the book or something--my class had 38 people in it :dozey:. i was really upset by the fact i couldn't write more, actually. and in what i did write, i had to use "u" for "you" and "r" for "are" and all that obnoxious internet abbreviation that i hate just to make sure it all fit  aww makayla, you're too nice  i look really young in that pic, i think . i feel like i look quite different now. or maybe not QUITE different, since that was only 2.5 years ago, but different.

Pictures, webcams, mugshots etc etc etc
jeez, my senior picture did NOT look this good! then again, i didn't have mine professionally done (as this looks like)--i just went out in the yard with a self-timer  hmm, i don't look all that much like that anymore

Coldplay Tokyo show to be screened on MTV | Watching Party! (27th February 2009)
after seeing that preview, i am now MORE enraged that it's not airing in america . i think live nation might have something to do with it not being aired, but i think it's more likely the fact that airing a whole coldplay concert is too worthwhile and good for the usual MTV teenybopper watchers to bother with, and the MTV ratings would drop in the hour or whatever that it's on. i blame the mindless american youth. thank you to those who offered to record it and upload it: us americans (and lots of other people) will forever be in your debt if you post it in multimedia after it airs :D.

Bono's Coldplay Envy
:nice: i love bono. i know the critics and most people are loving no line on the horizon, but in my opinion, i really think bono SHOULD be watching U2's back a bit, since i think VLVOD is a much stronger and varied album.

Christians!
agreed on all counts. (LOVE your signature, BTW). you don't need structured religion to be moral--in fact, i often feel as though i trust the morals of non-religious people more for exactly the reason you stated. all the "getting into heaven" stuff is completely beyond me: can't good things be done just for the sake of doing them and being a good person, without looking for a reward? doesn't it feel better when you're not looking for anything in return? christianity has always been a bit of a turn off for me in general, i think because so many people take it so literally and so seriously. that's not necessarily to say other religions don't turn me off or don't take things word for word, but there's always been something about it that's freaked me out a bit. i think it's because i see so many people, lots of people my own age and older, preaching one thing but practicing another entirely. it also irks me with religion in general how so many people just tend to be born into what they are--i think it's irresponsible for parents to push something as heavy as religion on their children without encouraging in depth exploration of other faiths. this isn't to say i don't believe in anything--i do, it's just not something that i have an easy time explaining, and it's certainly not part of any structured religion. my school, while historically episcopalian, ran a weekly (mandatory) chapel service, but every week it was done in the tradition of a different world religion, or sometimes no defined religion at all. i think that's the sort of exposure that everyone needs in order to come to something they TRULY believe in, picking and choosing from what they find interesting in terms of morals, rather than being forced and brainwashed into believing whatever their parents do from the getgo.

if Coldplay.com charged for special content....
[rant] i think coldplay should charge for this kind of thing, by all means, but in the form of an organized fan club which has major perks. my mom has been a lifelong member of the pearl jam fan club, and coldplay REALLY needs to form one, for both the interests of money (which would ultimately go to EMI, so they'd be thrilled) and for the fans. in the pearl jam fan club, my mom gets first choice of tickets for every show several days before they go on sale anywhere else (which almost always results in very, very good seats), two (or more, i can't remember) nicely published magazines mailed to us every year, special merchandise offers, and a christmas present, which is always a vinyl EP of otherwise unreleased songs from the band. if coldplay did this, i would join in a HEARTBEAT. hell, i'd offer to organize and run the whole thing for them: my mom often tells me to drop out of college to organize a coldplay fan club that would be so good that EMI would offer to buy it from me :P. she thinks she could get me in touch with the pearl jam guys that originally set up their official fan club  (because that's how it happened with them: two fans got together and made a nice fan club, and then the band/management bought it from them to make it official, and the same two guys or whatever still are in charge of it. i would kill for that job). however, they shouldn't charge for ALL content. they should still tweet and they should still post news and blog posts and nice things to the publically available website. however, there could be more in-depth interviews or more pictures (not hard or expensive to produce) in a bi-annual magazine for members. of course, things like the songs from the EPs and scans of the magazines would get out on the internet, as they always will, but the real draw for most people to a fan club is the special ticket offers in various forms, whether they're discounted prices, first pickings with less competition, or better seats. that's something you can't leak to the internet, and that's something that would be worth a lot of peoples' money. they could make a freaking KILLING if they charged something like $50 for a membership and $20/year renewal after that, and fans would eat it up. [/rant]
