Possibly the dumbest question I've asked on here
It would become standard after a while... To give a concrete example, here in Slovenia, some people don't know that the word for /desired, welcome/ is written like this: zaželen because EVERYONE says zaželjen and the latter form has always been frowned upon but I think that lately, things have changed a bit and so zaželjen is acceptable, too. SO BASICALLY, things can still change and people could accept a new manner of writing. It'd just take time.

Hmmmm... The only people that put 2 spaces after the period that I've noticed, are from the US. It looks weird to me.

Tips on how to get autographs/meet a band at a concert
This, this, this. If you don't know the band or are trying to meet them just to say that you DID, then it's not worth it. I suppose the band would notice that you're not there for them, too. Seriously, I'm kind of scared of meeting the band I don't know all that well even though I like them. I really don't want to be one of those "HI OMG I LUV U CAN HASZ AUTOGRAPH?!? ..... oh and yours, too, whoever you are?" types.

Possibly the dumbest question I've asked on here
Rules can definitely change. Look at the example of irregular verbs like burn (past participle would be burnt and burned). I believe that only one variant of it was correct in past centuries (Empily will probably correct me on this one - I haven't studied the history of the English language in detail) but nowadays, both variations can be used without people being accused of having bad grammar skills. Now, it depends which one's more common in a region but as far as I know, both participles are accepted in all regional English versions. I might be wrong, though. More generally speaking, it also depends on the grammarians. If they believe in descriptive grammar, they're more likely to set rules according to usage and they'll take into account whatever is going on with their language (how would you explain 'LOL' in OED otherwise?), whereas prescriptive grammarians will set the norms according to, idk, past rules and what they believe is right. Ooops, I've digressed from the original question but I hope I've explained some things about grammar.

Basically, what Empily said. :) To simplify it, it's one of the ways linguists used to standardise the language.

I really want to go because it could be very special but I'd love to see the full band as well... Can't do both. :/

Radiohead
What's done is done. I ended up ordering the limited edition CD as I realised it's better ordering it now than waiting for the normal version to be delivered to music shops over here. The price would be about the same. And yeah. There's more artwork coming with the LE, so yay

Radiohead
I think someone mentioned something like that... that someone did an interview with either Thom or Nigel and they said that the download option would be made available. The regular LP sounds like a good compromise in that case. I'll see. I need to calculate my options. Thanks for the advice!

Radiohead
You mean the Limited Edition LP? I don't have enough money for that, I'm afraid, as I'm saving up for a festival next summer.

Radiohead

Waddup Peeps!
Mine sucks, too. I really should practice but I have so little time! :( But it's okay. One day we'll speak it nice and fluent. :awesome: Working in a music shop sounds nice but I wouldn't want to do it all my life, either. There are no alligators here but you're welcome anyway!

Sigur Rós
Apparently there'll be a special code thing each ticket buyer will get so that they'll be able to participate in a competition... There's one prize per continent (two for Asia) so the chance of winning it is very small but worth it, I guess.

Waddup Peeps!
 I'd love a sunny and warm Christmas!! I'll be drowning in fog (well, not literally but I guess you know what I mean). It's nice to see you posting, too! :cheesy: Wow, English and French?? That's awesome!!! :D We can talk in French now, I need to practice so bad. :wreck: Did you stop working at that music shop? I've 1 more year. Or something like that. :blank: LORE :dazzled: :huskyhug:

Hey everybody, I have a question
Well, I don't want to get into a political debate because I don't know the topic well enough to comment on it and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I hope you and your family, as well as all Israeli and Palestinian kids stay safe.

Waddup Peeps!
I miss you too, Ren!! I've been fine, what about you?! Ooops I read that as 'pooped up' :uhoh2:

I'm all right, just really busy with university. :( :( I'm not in Paris any more, I only went there to visit my friends and see Radiohead:  you should go to Paris ASAP, it's awesome and lovely. I'll check this site more often now that the 'old' crew is back. :wacky:

I'll have to agree with Lore on that one. :wink3:
