  1. I adore Mika. I've been listening to a lot of foreign music, so when I want to kick away from not understanding the lyrics, I listen to Mika because his style isn't a far cry from the Japanese and Korean music I listen to these days. I admire his voice and piano skills, too. I, personally, think he's incredible. His songs remind me of going to Portugal and sitting on the beach. I'd love to see him live! It's more fun for me too because I don't listen to the radio, so I discover everything I listen to relatively on my own... Mika included. The only way I can kill his music is for me to overplay it!
  2. Coldplay karaoke sends woman into rage Click here So ridiculous, yet so funny! And in Seattle of all places! Since I can't repost the article, you'll have to visit the site (I'm abiding by AP's copyright rules, so MSNBC is where to look for it.) but I laughed when I read this. Feel bad for the guy, though.
  3. Maroon 5 - It Won't Be Soon Before Too Long. And I'm not ashamed of it either. Say what you will. :/
  4. No it's not, but seeing as arguing over the internet is really dumb and I've already made my point, I'll leave. And fyi, I've never talked to Marek before, so I'm unfamiliar with his ways. Sorry to be a nuisance. I just wanted to make a point.
  5. That is totally uncalled for. I can understand respectful sharing of opinion, but not name-calling and outright bashing. You make it sound like it's some horrible CRIME to like The Beatles. I'm not saying I'm a big fan of The Beatles, I don't listen to them daily, I've got maybe two or three songs of theirs on my iPod, but I don't go around reposting mean-spirited articles. There is nothing wrong with liking a certain band. Saying that "no one likes The Beatles" is a broad blanket statement and a silly one at that. Have some respect, if not for the band, then at least for people who like them. I'm sure you have a friend who loves The Beatles. Would you intentionally hurt their feelings just to get your point that you hate the band across? I doubt it.
  6. I dunno, I used to love Maroon 5. Not really so much anymore but I'm still eager to hear their new CD. Maybe we could be a little less insulting about them...?
  7. The elementary school kids I was working with made me a lovely card--and I left it on the bus. I'm devastated.
  8. The Des'ree one is my favorite... sounds like something I'd write in 3rd grade. Why didn't I get big for my "insightful" lyrics?!
  9. I once ate a bit of moldy soup. D: It took a half hour to get that taste out of my mouth! D:
  10. Which I most definitely will get. ;D
  11. NINOMIYA KAZUNARI (or Kazunari Ninomiya, if you're accustomed to the first name, last name thing.) Member of J-idol band ARASHI (<3) Look familiar? He plays Saigo in Letters From Iwo Jima! This shot comes from a photobook of a movie he made in Japan called The Blue Light, about a psychotic teenager who plots to kill his ex-step-father. I love this picture!!
  12. Can someone post that interview here? I'd like to read it. D:
  13. The Beatles vs. Dashboard Confessional Does this really need justifying? Sigur Rós vs. REM No offense to REM, but Sigur Ros is so much more soothing. Death Cab For Cutie vs. We Are Scientists I dunno, WAS never appealed much to me. DCfC is also one of those bands I just can't get sick of. British Sea Power vs. Bright Eyes I love BSP, but Bright Eyes brings out more emotion in me. Oasis vs. The Smiths TOO EPIC NOT TO VOTE. Keane vs. Ben Folds Keane is one of my favorite bands... of course. Sorry Ben. D: Red Hot Chili Peppers vs. Interpol I can't understand what Anthony Kiedis sings about but the band is still awesome. Bloc Party vs. Snow Patrol Without question. :/
  14. Kamini. French rapper. I wish I could speak better French so I could understand him... but until I become fluent, I'll have to be satisfied with translating the lyrics online. Although I can now pick out a line or two. Go me.
  15. I don't agree with some of those artists. Jamiroquai definitely shouldn't be on there.
  16. I liked the new single. It was funky. I thought that was interesting... I want to see what the new album is like. But I see Adam hasn't changed his womanizing ways.
  17. What a cute video. D: I love this song... instantly one of my favorite Snow Patrol songs.
  18. I didn't agree with "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" being on there. I love that song. :/ I've never liked Blender, tbh, so maybe it's just the bias in me speaking.
  19. Aqualung - Cinderella
  20. I adore Thin Air. It's one of my favorite Keane songs. I'm glad it wasn't on the album. It's kind of like my secret. 8D
  21. Aww! Your baby is so cute!
  22. Arashi. They're a jpop band I'm really into (#2 most played artist on my Last.FM and I've only known about them for a little over two weeks! O:) and even though they use a little English in their songs, it's all Japanese! But I plan on learning Japanese later, so maybe one day I'll understand them. :] Oh, and Vitas (he has the most AMAZING voice EVER.), Mumiy Troll, Bi-2 and Brainstorm are all up there. The first three sing in Russian and the last band sings in English, Russian and Latvian. These people are why I want to learn Russian too! :]]
