  1. For some reason, I keep getting the "Unable to check for available downloads" error when I try and download it. And sometimes for kicks, it'll throw in a "The network connection was reset" in there as well. Anyone else getting these errors?
  2. Huh. I thought the American Music Awards were just for American artists. Guess I was wrong. Oh well, more power to them! :D
  3. It's alright. Not really a big fan of Swizz Beatz, but he sure can produce a beat.
  4. After watching on a boring day, I was inspired to create something similar to this, but using a Coldplay song instead of a Muse song. I decided to use A Message. Be warned though, it's nowhere as good as the video I mentioned earlier. For one, the video could probably be featuring an actual symphony for all I know. My version of A Message is much less convincing. I am using FL Studio to make this and this is my first time doing anything with that program (or computers and music in general), so go easy on me. You can download a VERY early version here: http://rapidshare.com/files/129317644/A_Message__WIP13-7-08_.mp3.html Keep in mind that this is nowhere near done. If people like it, I'll continue to work on it. I'm going to add a lot more instruments, improve on the ones present, and of course, finish the song. I might even add vocals as well. Comments and constructive criticism are always welcome!
  5. Well X&Y is what got me into Coldplay, so I really can't hate it. But now that I look back, I find it wasn't as good as the others (except Rush of Blood because I'm weird like that). While A Message is one of my favorite songs of all time, a lot of the other songs just don't seem to stand out as well as Square One or Speed of Sound. Reign of Love I really don't like. Probably because it follows Lovers in Japan, which for me, is hard to top. :P As for Chinese Sleep Chant, I really enjoy it. To me, it's a non-crappy version of A Whisper. Really hated that song.
  6. Huh. Wrong board. Would a mod be so kind as to move/delete this thread?
  7. Here it is. Apparently, that's Violet Hill. Sounds nothing at all like any song I've ever heard, but I like the stuff that Justice puts out.
  8. "But it's hard when she turns you on" Not necessarily the best line on the album, but did anyone other than me laugh when I heard this? It's not a ridiculous line or anything, I just found it funny that Coldplay would use the term "turns you on" in one of their songs.
  9. 1. Viva La Vida 1. A Rush of Blood to the Head 1. Parachutes 27. X&Y Not a big fan of X&Y. The song, not the album.
  10. I'm not saying that hard rock/metal/punk/whatever else is typically on GH isn't good, I'm just saying it's a little weird to have Coldplay there with them. It's like walking into a French restaurant which serves fine French cuisine and then finding out that they serve hamburgers too.
  11. Hm...I don't like it, honestly. To me, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are all about hard rock, metal, and all that. Having Coldplay next to the likes of Metallica and Slayer kind of weirds me out. And plus, there really isn't much guitar action in Violet Hill. They should have went with Shiver, or a song with a tougher riff than Johnny's solo. On the bright side, woo! Coldplay in a video game!
  12. Sparks is "winning"? *scoff* Well you guys can all go die. :P
  13. Well I watched it, it was alright. What I'm really looking forward to though is the Metal Gear Solid 4 preview at the end. \m/
  14. Erm, I was implying that Chris Brown might be the one who duets with Coldplay, seeing as his outfit is similar to their outfits.
  15. Did you see Chris Brown's outfit? Oh no. Oh God no. RUN.
  16. Now that the video Violet Hill has been released (leaked?), let's determine which videos we love and which ones we hate. From best to worst: Trouble (US version) - This video is amazing. First off, it's not a performance video. Secondly, the art style used is very unique and added a lot of color to a bizarre scenario. Talk - I really enjoyed how they tried to make this video as cheesy as possible. Really liked the part with all the instruments before the final chorus. Hilarious! The Scientist - I mean, come on. A backwards video. How clever is that? Speed of Sound - That giant wall of light is awesome. When I become a millionaire, I'm going to buy me one of those. Violet Hill - Enjoyed the humor in this one. Their outfits are really cool, too. Fix You - The ending was great. They should do more videos of live performances. Yellow - I really liked how bittersweet this video was. Beaches are supposed to be happy, sunny places and this sort of goes against that stereotype. Additionally, Chris looks exactly like one of my friends in this video. Trouble (UK version) - It was sort of cool to watch Chris do stuff with a chair, but it didn't hold my interest very much. God Put a Smile Upon Your Face - The concept wasn't very interesting in theory, and neither was it interesting in action. Don't Panic - For some reason, the art style here...creeped me out. Shiver, In My Place, and Clocks are tied. Lame performance based videos that don't really do much to complement the music. The Hardest Part - OH SWEET MOTHER OF GOD MY EYESYep, so that's my opinion. Feel free to post yours!
  17. Even if you don't play video games, I'm sure you'll find at least some of this stuff funny. My favorites are the reviews for The Orange Box and Guitar Hero 3.
  18. I am of the opinion that an excessive number of bumper stickers is stupid and annoying. One "Support our troops" or "Hate is not a family value" is fine, because we get it. We understand your beliefs on such issues already. But if you have so many bumper stickers you can't see out your window, it's almost as if you're trying to annoy people. Ooh, y'know what REALLY gets me? When people still have their "Bush '04" or "Kerry '04" stickers.
  19. No matter what they do, if they use lasers, a lot of lighting, and a giant screen, I'll be happy. What I'd really like to see is pyrotechnics. For instance, when performing Square One, explosions of color are projected on screen, along with lights of the same color. Wouldn't it be awesome to see actual red, green, and blue explosions during the chorus?
  20. Man. Nobody's talked about The Office in three whole years? Personally, I love the show. The second and third seasons were the best. This season, the comedy is A LOT less subtle, but I've found myself laughing at it nonetheless. Still a great show, but I wish they'd stick to drier humor.
  21. Hm, here are some more shots of the same theme. That first picture looks like it could be the back of the CD case.
  22. For those of you who don't know what iGoogle is, it's an enhanced version of Google that you can customize yourself. You can choose what information you want iGoogle to display. It might sound sort of strange, but once you see the screenshot, you'll understand what I'm talking about. You can choose from different visual themes that, depending on who made them, change during certain hours of the day. For those of you who use iGoogle, they have a Coldplay theme out now! Come get it! Yet another example of the whole painting theme Coldplay is going for this time around.
  23. Wait, forget what I just said. This is the true meaning of the song.
