  1. This song is so good that by itself justifies the whole album. Just like Fix You. Many years away from now some will look back and probably hate this era, but I think that it will always be worth just for this 3 minutes and 40 seconds of music.
  2. The more I hear the album, I think it lacks depth. Really don't know why but I can't see myself hearing this album for 3-4 years while they release something new like I did with MX, Viva, X&Y and AROBBTH. I like the songs, but I don't know why I kind of already tired of hearing them. Not really sure why this is happening. Maybe the fact that the album has not several hits (like the previous ones) or maybe it is a huge style change over I am not yet used to.
  3. To me, each pre-album period has been special in its own way. I was just finishing high-school when X&Y was about to be released and I remember hearing Fix You for the first time in The OC, a popular TV show at that time. The song captivated me just like hearing O in the Zane Lowe show did a few weeks ago. Not coincidentally, right now both songs are my favorite Coldplay songs ever. I believe the anticipation for this one will be forever marked with the news that Chris was separating from GP. Such a sad time which is clearly represented in the album. It is also a step back for the boys after Viva la Vida and Mylo Xyloto, which were very colorful and hopeful eras. Waiting for Viva I was at a mid point of my law degree and about that time I broke up for four months with my then girlfriend who is now my wife. I remember Violet Hill being premiered in BBC Radio 1. I loved the song immediately and then downloaded it (for free) from coldplay.com. We had a great time around here deciphering the Life in Technicolour video and the wait for the album was not very long, especially sing Viva was released somewhere in between Violet Hill and the album. An instant classic and favorite, quite representative of the hope and color in such era. For its part, the wait for Mylo was so long, preceded by festivals appearances, but also full of hope and happiness. Such era really captured a feeling of togetherness and euphoria for me. Mylo will always represent happy yet sad times (like Every Teardrop). My wife's dad died of cancer but we also got married that year. We got to hear Princess of China before the album was leaked, which at the end was leaked by someone under the name of BriBERY. Nothing like the hype preceding Ghost Stories, though. It is a shame that once the album was streamed on iTunes I felt that I have already heard almost all the songs. This band (and forum) will always be a great companion to my life.

  6. Cool! I guess its payback time so the boys can promote Ghost Stories.
  7. Round one: Politik Round two: In My Place Round three: Ink Round four: The Scientist Round five: Clocks Round six: Midnight Round seven: Green Eyes Round eight: Warning Sign Round nine: O AROBTTH: 6 GS: 3 After doing this with all the albums, Ghost Stories always loses. I guess it is still too early to assess the true impact of many of its songs. In the case of AROBTTH, it is the only case of a clear victory of the former record.

Loving Will's drums in this song!!!
  12. That's right. After Fly On they made a 2 minute gap in order that the final length of the album is 42 minutes with 42 seconds.
  13. the_escapist replied to Tash's topic in O (part 2)
Apple's voice sounds amazing. Got to give her some credit.
  14. Please someone record the whole thing! I think it is going to be awesome!
  15. Not so great on the first listen. But who knows. Definitely a bonus track.

I really liked this one! All Your Friends, not so much!
  17. My only critic will be the following: Too much teasing previous to the release of the album. Considering how short it is, you can't release in advance so many songs (and here I am including also Always In My Head, Another's Arms and Oceans, which were performed publicly by the band previous to the release of the album). The album, although new, seems a bit outdated too me since out of 9 songs, I have already heard 6 before it began streaming on iTunes. And that without counting that some minutes before the streaming we heard Always In My Head and O in the Zane Lowe show. So, boys, next time, when releasing so a short album, please only release a single and shortly after the album.
  18. A masterpiece. Probably my favorite Coldplay song, now followed by Fix You.
  19. O is an absolute masterpiece. Probably their best song ever.
  20. Shed one or two tears. One of their best songs ever.
  21. I am loving this song!!!
  22. Seriously guys? He is certainly there - maybe not so prominently like in Viva or MX, but still there.
