  1. Very nice! Minimalistic! One blind, one shade, one stalk of lemon rind Frozen in the eye's mind, never to be opened Locked and unlocked behind the mirror Sits the mind's eye, keep track but never speaking Until the night, when one is sleeping..:vanish:

Yes, there's a lot of the blues in these songs.. But if you look at the bright songs, they're very uplifting! After all, life is for living, and I think it's good to commiserate at times - to have a heart; but to always feel the sunshine after the rain, so to speak.. What is Moses about?
  3. Well, I haven't heard that one yet!:) Moses?
  4. Greetings:sunny::sunny::sunny: How are you?:)
  5. I'm still trying to envision a stadium filled to capacity listening to Coldplay playing some really introspective song.. I've seen stranger things, but for some reason, a whole stadium of fans who know the words..they had a concert like this!! IIEEE!:wacky: Rock concerts back when I was a lad were pretty wild affairs - well, I guess there was Jethro Tull and all kinds of acts, so what am I saying..? Anyhow, I think their best is Trouble and High Speed; and Moses. And some others, too.. What gets people all tripped out on ARROBTTH?
  6. Greetings!:) How's the weather in Norway today?:elf:

Quite an amazing world we live in ! How's the weather?:)
  8. I Wish I could answer! Haven't heard them yet.. Do you think Coldplay should change their name back to Starfish?:P (actually, I like that better... less 'cold', more evocative of 'warm', which the northern hemisphere is not getting right now!)
  9. Bueno Nachos Grandes!:) And just what's going on here?!:laugh3: wild partying?:P
  10. Ahh.. well, now it's half-gone!:laugh3: I would actually, but the shipping alone.. It's that 70% cacao chocolate - do you like it that dark?? Still, hmm.. now I'm craving garlic bread!!:)
  11. Yes, it was just an amazing speech! It made me choke up as well, even though I've heard the main body of it before! That's great that they put it on vinyl! Glad you're family has it - quite a treat to hear something so inspirational; sounds like you come from a great family, Marisa!:sunny:

Just thought I would revive one of these 'song meanings' threads!:) Post what you know, what you want to know, or what you feel!:joker:
  13. Alright then!!;) (songs are something; they paint such vivid pictures in our minds..)
  14. I did take a listen to Seabear, and I like them! Was giving a listen to Dr. Martin Luther King's speech on YouTube. I hadn't really hear the whole thing before - I was quite stirring!;)
  15. Bright Future! So I've been working on this problem for a while - I've been trying to integrate all the concepts of ecological concern, comfort, renewable energy, reliability, and sustainability into one fairly well-encompassing model. One unique aspect was to integrate an automated producer gas generator into the system, that uses the best engine designs possible from a durability & efficiency standpoint. Also high on the priority list was eliminating most of the rare & uncommon elements (such as lead, copper, zinc, nickel, mercury, etc.) from the basic design, so that anyone could have an energy-efficient & renewable energy home & shop, without the downsides of relying on a lot of toxic or rare elements. In fact, I think we haven't any choice but to make such a transition, as the sources are both coming close to depletion, and are causing a great deal of land disturbance, as well as creating many toxic hazards. Included in the package are earth & human-friendly alternatives to couch stuffing, fabrics, and bio-plastics. I've envisioned this to include re-modeling, as much of our basic infrastructure is built, and can more readily be re-modeled than taken apart and built new. All this on an affordable basis! In fact, the more I look at it, the more I realize how we can have incredibly enjoyable places to live in, which require very little basic maintenance and minimal energy loads to start with. And it really isn't that difficult to do! Well, I'll get off my soap box now..:)
  16. Tracie, I know what you're feeling! I recall the same (well, the same strain) lunatics back while renting at the U. Do the police have any affect? I recall going to a neighbor at school, and since he was a policeman, I figured he would do something. He just said he was hard of hearing from being on the firing range so long, and so he couldn't really hear the music! (I think he was a good lip-reader!). So, he wouldn't do a thing.. I think calling the police on them wouldn't be wrong, albeit perhaps useless if the cops have no ambition to do a thing. But, my second act would be to pull the breaker! (I was ready to break the one open at the U, and shut off the power - it was exam week, and these nuts had no concept of respect..)
  17. Every now and then, I like to go back a ways.. I've been listening to Gordon Lightfoot's Carefree Highway... It really is most excellent!!:)
  18. OOO, I like garlic bread! Can I have some?:) Last thing in my mouth was... Dark Chocolate with almonds!!:):):)
  19. I really think privacy rights should extend to anyone, especially if they are being constantly bothered by photographers. At least a space limit of a certain distance, and some common sense courtesy - Privacy rights are basically guaranteed in our constitution, and when we think of it, they have more to do with respecting one's right to be personal with whom we choose, and the basic right of respect for those personal moments, whether that happens to be in our own homes, or in public. I wish our system of justice would do more about this, and the courts. Sorry to hear they gave Gwyneth a hard time, and my apologies on behalf of the majority of Americans who find this sort of behavior appaling!
  20. That's quite a dream! Last night I dreamed that I was camping out beneath the stars:sleeping:, and it was freezing cold! Then I awoke, and the house was cold (wood stove had gone out), the moon was shining intensely bright, and a red squirrel had made it's way into the living room.:o
  21. Yes, if there isn't one already, that sounds like an excellent idea!;) The keyboardist is the mystery person in the song; it is not the knowing, but the search that makes it interesting! Somewhere there was a security camera recording of the keyboardist from the mall (the Mall of America)... I don't know how to access it.
  22. I wish I could read Spanish too! Why does that powdered sugar I put in the applesauce taste so weird? Why do I live in this frozen hell?:laugh3: Can I get that report done in time:stunned: OO, I had better start working on it!!
  23. Yes, Rick - I agree - whoever is really responsible! Maybe the government, or maybe the real - estate dealers. And improve their damn system so nobody gets hurts again in a like manner!
