  1. 'Gippeswick':toff: Jackson Hole, Wyoming. :cowboy:
  2. Hamburg, Germany.
  3. OOOH YEA, COOL! Who counted then all? 44,000 lightning discharges, at an average of 780,000 volts each and 9800 Amps, for a duration of .001 seconds each, how many watt-hours of energy is that?
  4. :shifty::laugh3: Darn, you caught me! :P OK, how about... Fahud, Oman.
  5. Here, a nice 66.6F, which feels like 66.8F, with a humidity level of 64%, barometric pressure of 29.98 inches on a mercury vacuum column, or equivalent, a Dewpoint at 54F, 10 miles of visibility, and 0.0 wind speed with no direction. Ozone is at a good level, pollen is rated at a 10 out of 12..

  7. But that electric police scooter is just wayy cool! Anyhow, batten down the hatches and buckle the seat belts, should be an exciting storm! What else can we do - deal with what comes, best as one can. Help a neighbor in need, an the scouts say, Be Prepared. :fingersx:
  8. Welcome Back Coldplady! How long have you been off the net to discover it's become more complicated? I do recall the time when it was mainly just a research tool, a government and uni web.. Anyhow, happy you made it back into the borg!:laugh3: Begin assimilation.
  9. It is good to take precautions. And then, windows boarded up, sandbags piled high, emergency generator tested and ready, flashlights charged, spam stocked and ready, then... get that surf board out and PARTY!! :laugh3: Hm, I suppose the news' talking heads and shock music does get some people moving, true. But still, I think since it is so hyped, it can be Orwellian and not calmly rational as well. It does present an opportunity to control people, something I find offensive as well. I wish the news departments were severed from the corporate profit machine as they were in the old days of Reasoner, Mudd, Rather, and Cronkite. Just the facts, none of the sales adrenaline. What we need is to know the plain truth.
  10. Hm, how much is that bottle of beer?:p
  11. Toad: We two sing the Nightingale Song of Love. And if it ever changes when you view it from above, the damage we encounter and earth just passes by, and if it ever changes when you view it from afar, just remind ourselves how small we really are..
  12. Well, obviously the fear factor sells airtime, gets people to watch, and it's hyped at time, true. But there will no doubt be flooding, since things are so low and with so much hard surfaces today, the water will build up in places - plus the storm surge. And tornadoes are spawned inside hurricanes, which can blow things apart like so many tinker toys thrown to the wind. Anyhow, must be getting closer to Jersey by now!! I can see the windsurfers lining up on the beach as we speak!:P (sorry, I couldn't resist).
  13. Green Cars Rule! CK
  14. Good to be prepared. Here, we just had a tornado two days ago, really messed up an area just north of here, smashed up some houses, one person got killed. Seems to me that I recall reading in a National Geo article something about over a hundred tornadoes inside a given hurricane in Florida - will this one do the same? Something else to consider, besides the flooding storm surge.. Power outages are annoying but expected (recalling how Rocky the squirrel shorted across some contacts at a substation and took down half the country's electrical grid a few years back), but it's the other stuff that's good to be really prepared for.. Hang on to your hats!!:cowboy::fingersx:
  15.:laugh3: I can just imagine what that's all about! Clocks by Coldplay
  16. Good morning !! And I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about! (but I did have a little pokemon top from a cereal box once).
  17. It won't be that bad - get a wind surf board and hit the beach!! Plus, the beach will be clear of all those late summer vacationers!:laugh3: Think of all the fun and excitement! The meadowlands will be wetlands though. ;) Better move the beaver lodges to higher ground! :P
  18. Slowly emerging technology out of the holocene and into the greencene: Green Car Congress
  19. Yea, George was the Beatle that brought in the Indian sound, a really great diversification & brightened things up a lot. And Here comes the Sun brightened up the world!!:sunny:
  20. I don't even know what to say here. One size doesn't fit all, and if you play the role of the sad moppet Lory, you kinda get the kind of guys that aren't so wonderful, if you know what I mean? Saying all men are nasty in general is rude to me and to a lot of other men, a blanket assumption which isn't true.
  21. An education. What was the most enjoyable experience you can recall in your life?

Hello Brianna & welcome to Coldplaying!!:flutterby: Yes, it takes a little getting used to, and it's a bit quir:sunny:ky, but all in all, an excellent site with exceptional participants, so I hope you enjoy it here! I hope your wish comes true, and you get to see them in concert!
  23. Never had one actually. Have you ever heard a cylinder record player play?:)
