I have a question for beautiful and ever knowledgeable Debs.....tonight's gig is going to be streamed live i.e. in one day's time we will be able to get standard good quality versions of the new songs. Isn't this going to slow down the album sales when it eventually comes out? I would imagine album won't have more than 11 songs, so this is more than just getting a preview, it's like getting the 75% of the album. Hope you can answer ;) thanks!

Perhaps in the sense that it's just a drop in the ocean and there are going to be many better songs released on LP5....Arcade Fire probably have a good standing point regards.Coldplay and their new material via Markus Dravs ;)

Now this is more like it! 'Cartoon Hearts' and HTH are a lot closer to what I'm expecting from this album.

yep, those new lyrics are fake. But I promise you when I go to Venice next week I'll try to write down some lyrics on my phone if I can. If we won't have everything by then, of course? Looking so much forward to a quality stream tomorrow! :)

Once again, tonight Coldplay are playing Rock im Park, there is NO stream available. That stream from justin.tv is from Rock am Ring, the other concert which Coldplay play tomorrow!

Hey guys, stop this fight. ETIAW may not be the best Coldplay song, but it's not the worst single either. I have to admit I thought it would be a better song or at least more suited to what I've come to expect from Coldplay circa Viva era. Which was absolutely fantastic for me, I don't know any person who didn't like that album. This new direction (which I don't think is very new, for now) is something Coldplay are just getting into; it doesn't mean the whole album will be like this, actually I'm sure it will contain some brilliant songs, but this one is just very different from what they've done. They are trying to be bold, not stupid.

Hmmm I don't like the song very much, it could be a grower though. Not a bad song, but very different to what I imagined it would be.

My honest view is that it's GREAT to have a new song, and I'm pretty sure it's going to be on the album. All in all, a great start to the new era, and I cannot wait for new merchandise (I'd love to have Chris' or Guy's jacket!) too! Now let's just wait for the song (can still picture the thrill of hearing Violet Hill the first time).... :)

Someone posted on youtube the comment that the new album's title is "Mnemonics and Murals", which was swiftly deleted :stunned: :)

If there are any lyrics left, we should get them tonight. I would say maybe tomorrow they'll come up with the new single.

I don't mind if it's called Monday Morning or even Tuesday Morning or Car Kids or whatever, as long as we get some new music now! Gaahhh... can't wait anymore. :O

My guess would be: Great Expectations Arabesque If I never Fall in Love Again MTM Princess of China Up there with the Birds Aiko Hurts Like Heaven Alien Radio Every Teardrop is a Waterfall and perhaps another song, I don't know. I'm sure I've got some of them right.

I would also say August or September is a fairly logical time for releasing the album, especially if Jonny has said a single's coming out soon, I can only assume that means before the festivals which in theory means only 3 weeks until a NEW coldplay song :sneaky: :) And btw, someone's mentioned the tour dates in SA are first real tour dates - I wouldn't go that far yet, especially because it's still a festival-size ground they'll be playing at. A real tour date would probably be a 20,000 capacity hall. IMO.

I think the summer stadium tour might be the deadline to get the album finished. I very doubt that they would be able to do anything more during the tour. Perhaps the mixing will occur in summer and then the album will be out right after the stadium tour.

That guy singing with them with his back on camera is Tim Wheeler! Hopefully there will be a bit more group singing this time - I quite liked the Death and all his Friends chorus!

I'm sure they're going to play at least one new song live, like they did with 'Spanish Rain'. I am looking forward to hearing Amsterdam again too!

I think they're gonna expand the palette of sounds on LP5. I have really high expectations for this album but I don't think I'll regret it, I'm sure it'll be great. Viva was fantastic for me personally because the sound was so much different from the X&Y era, but still so great and melodic. I like that album best, and I think with every album Coldplay are becoming greater, but every next album seems to be better than the previous effort (even though X&Y was maybe not as good as Rush of Blood for some). I think we're in for some exciting times and great songs.

I hope the European Tour comes first, or at least the pattern seems to go in that direction. Can't wait! :)
