  1. you should rename the thread because there will be dozens like that in the following months! ;) vlv leak was epic, I still remember having to study for an exam, and listening to it several times, brilliant songs all over...only Chinese Sleep Chant I didn't really like.
  2. well, the first time we got a clue about the album title was somewhere around late 2007/early 2008, with that short video they did. And that was more than three months before they finally announced the album title and half a year before they released it. Truth be told, they've more or less finished the album, or at least Roadie #42 speaks of it as 'finished work'. I don't know if we can see a certain pattern but when something new will come on the website or perhaps timeline, we will know. But it's certainly this year, and I'll say in october we'll be hearing some new stuff! :)
  3. I think we're going to have an album out this summer or early autumn..!!!
  4. This is a fantastic thing if Chris is this confident, it should be a brilliant album then. Spanish Rain will not be there, IMO.

    it's "In My Place" ;)
  6. How about if you ask a small question of what the hell did they do with Famous Old Painters? ;)
  7. I think Viva DVD would have been more effective had it already been out a few months...but I don't know, perhaps it would be better to wait until LP5 and then do one, and do an entire concert and plenty of extras!
  8. So we left La Mancha Headed out for higher plains Me and Sancho Panza Looking for adventure Rosinante at the reins To the windmill's answer You'll never be lonely You'll never be lonely ever again You'll never be lonely You'll never be lonely again I heard you never get wet in Spanish Rain! So they sent for a doctor For examining my brain Seems not too clever When the world, when the world just seems a little bit too cruel Believe in better Make one better So tell that princess Tell that princess right down that trail Tell that princess She'll never be lonely again I heard you never get wet in Spanish Rain! I heard you never get wet in Spanish Rain! Chris: will the people sing: Ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole ole! I heard you're gonna get wet in Spanish rain! You'll never get wet in Spanish rain… come on, we're almost done! ;)
  9. 3. Me and Sancho Panza
  10. that one should be called Don Quixote (Spanish Rain)! ;)
  11. perhaps it will be an update about the album..you know what would be brilliant - a double album! :D
  12. and at the very same moment Cemeteries of London disappeared from the website! An old thing then... :/
  13. I've just remembered I can try to contact Asa Mader myself on facebook..so to get the news straight from the man! :)
  14. Well, I hope something comes out of it. Perhaps ask Oracle about it?
  15. Was this project ditched or what..I was on this site a few months and I could swear this wasn't yet on the page! http://www.asamader.com/Coldplay_Cemeteries.html

the only thing they probably themselves don't know is just how succesful some of the unreleased songs could be - you know I'm talking about that song Famous Old Painters! If that had been released with LeftRightLeftRightLeft song(one of the alleged eight versions) as b-sides to Strawberry Swing, I think there would have been little difference, but if it made it on the Viva album, hmm...
  17. This is quite exciting, but it also means they're still recording at the Bakery. Remember #42 said the new ideas for the album were going to be born at the Beehive, which means: a.) this album will be soon out, as a bridge between Viva and LP6, as they've got so many songs - I wish! or b.) album won't be out anytime soon (not before fall 2010 or even early 2011) Sorry to be off-topic, I think it's a fantastic idea for a clearout and donate the stuff to the charity. Anyway, the band are progressing which is good news.
  18. that's perhaps an unreliable source, but it would be super awesome to release the album in mid 2010. I don't believe they will only play smaller venues though, they're just too popular to do that.
  19. I'm not so sure Famous Old Painters will be included on the next album. Especially since they always want to go in a brand new direction for the new thing they're doing. The fact that Famous Old Painters was mentioned in Prospekt's journals twice gave an impression they spent a lot of time working on it. But something was obviously amiss, perhaps it was a song which was 'typical' Coldplay, a straight hit and remember they said they left all the could-be-hits off the album. Although I myself hope it will still see the light of the day! But we will, if, of course someone from the record company doesn't steal the tapes, never hear LeftRightLeftRightLeft. I think if there was anything to steal, it's Brian Eno's computer which has got every single take of every possible song on it.
  20. I can see the connection but LeftRightLeftRightLeft is a song on its own (with known line 'Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust'.). The song was done in, as Chris told us, 8 different versions, and was given Will Champion seal of disapproval. Famous Old Painters is another song which exists on its own. With known part of line 'Dr Gachet/Adeline'. The song even used a brass band in the third verse. Another of the songs which we haven't heard anything about.

I had this trange but pleasant dream last night about Coldplay. They were doing a gig (sorry, can't remember the setlist! ;) ) and at one point they invited Alicia Keys to play 'Goodbye and Goodnight' and then she started singing and I was the only one in the hall who knew about the song and I raised my arms, Chris looked at me, and all the music stopped I think and then he invited me onto stage. I can vaguely remember the lights, it was bit like during Cemeteries of London! :D Well, I don't remember the next part too good but I think Chris wanted me to play a song which only he knew the words, and I was sort of singing a few words and then that stopped and I asked Will if I could sing the start to 'Stairway to Heaven' and then I did that! I don't think I did very well but I actually had a nice dream instead of another nightmare so thanks for that, Coldplay! :D
  22. OMGGG I GOT IT TOOOOOOO!!!!

Late 2010/Early 2011 is my guess. But I still think they will not abandon The Bakery entirely, and they have done some early demos for the new album there. I'll be excited if Brian Eno will be joined by Markus Dravs, Davide Rossi and Jon Hopkins! That would be just awesome. And perhaps we will finally get a collaboration with another artist - it was a long time coming, after all.
  24. It's great to see that Davide Rossi is still close to the band, perhaps we can expect another collaboration on Album 5? And has anyone of you any idea where to buy that cap? It would be fantastic for winter days! :D
